I know I have not been to Georgetown in a long time but I had no idea there was a Barnes and Noble here. I love big bookstores and this place was amazing. They converted an old historical building into a large bookstore. As soon as you enter the store you feel the classic renovation and great vibes. Other Barnes and Noble have the same regular retail feel but this location has a vintage originality that you don't find anywhere else. There were three floors filled with books of varying types. It was surprisingly filled with college kids and tourists who were in the area. I was like a kid in the candy store. I went from browsing nonfiction to graphic novels to self-help books. I was able to find a seat and spend my evening going through a good classic self-help book. The only downside was that it was almost nine and the store was closing. I had to head down and make my way out. I wished I had a longer stay in DC to come back here. Most of the Barnes and Noble stores in my area were closing down so it was great to experience a classic bookstore again.

If you're a fan of large physical bookstores and enjoy wandering through multiple levels of titles, this Georgetown Barnes & Noble is a strong pick. The size and layout are impressive: three full floors of books, gifts and browsing space gives it a presence that many chain bookstores lack these days & I loved it! I could roam this store for hours. The prices are normal and the staff is very friendly and helpful. This bookstore literally has something for everyone. I was so impressed by the Lego section, especially because the prices weren't bad at all. There's no cafe here which I found odd, but it didn't bother me because that's not what I came for. The bathrooms are clean and for paid customers only. Parking sucks but there are garages near by. Can't wait to visit again!

This Barnes & Noble location is amazing! I love that there are multiple floors to roam and look for books/authors on your TBR list. Each floor is organized by genre and offers a spacious layout that allows customers to not feel cramped while exploring. This B & N location should definitely be on your to visit list. I rated this location at four stars because the staff members that I encountered were not friendly. It felt as if I was bothering them when asked about the restrooms and a trash can. Those interactions at the end of my visit were a bit of a disappointment.

This is a really unique Barnes and Noble!! It has 3 levels with a large selection of books and media. I got 50% Kenny Chesney's autobiography which was a great value! The service was good as well - friendly staff. There was also an author speaking on the third floor which seemed to be a popular event. Definitely worth checking out!

Barnes & Noble is BACK! Open in Georgetown and closed due to the rise of Amazon, it's now back. It turns out you can't move the joy of browsing physical books online. This location is along M Street NW so parking can be a beast, but if you walk inside the large location, you'll find three floors of books, gifts, toys, and more. It's clean and well organized. If you want the kids section, go to the second floor and look for the giant pop up book display. Here you'll also find a play area and toys. The travel section is on the third floor by the magazines. They have one of the most robust travel sections, but you can't find books on more off-the-beaten-path countries like Bulgaria and Kazakhstan.

Wow! What a great enormous bookstore in DC - three large floors that our group ( even some were hesitant to go in at first) found different areas to be excited about. The staff was nice while checking out and we were all very entertained looking through all the different areas on all three floors. Besides the books, they had a great record selection, and an adorable pop-up book area for kids too. We plan on returning on our next trip to DC. Enjoy!

I stopped by this location of Barnes & Noble when I was in Georgetown last weekend. Full disclosure: I love Barnes & Noble. I worked at two when I was in high school and college - in Texas and New York. I've been shopping at Barnes & Noble for decades. I do love to support local, independent bookstores. But in our post-Amazon world, any bookstore is a bookstore worth supporting. I try to support them all. I'd heard that this new Barnes & Noble location was pretty great, so I was excited to finally visit (I think it's been open for over a year). It really was impressive - three stories, open, modern, airy, cool. The store was amazing - just huge. Massive! And so well-stocked. I can't imagine a book I'd be looking for that they wouldn't have. (For the record, they had the book I was looking for, and I picked up something extra for fun.) So, yes, I'm a fan. I'll definitely be stopping by again when I'm in Georgetown next.

Barnes and Noble is back to DC! I was over the moon when I heard a new bookstore would be coming to Georgetown. I knew this space well and visited it "back in the day" when it was a Borders Bookstore. I loved borders and all its DVDs, random assortment of gifts and stationary. RIP Borders! Then Nike came and went and this space sat empty. But now Barnes and Nobles is back and better than ever. You'll find 3 floors of books and gifts right in the heart of Georgetown. The approach is incredibly smart as they hired locals who curated the selection based on the population of the DMV area. There is a focus on local authors, history and issue-driven subjects that anyone passionate about public affairs and policy would love. The kids section is very nice as well and a great value. The kids can play, read, run around with plenty of space. I haven't taken my kids here yet but it's high on my list of places to take them. As the chilly winter months approach, I'll be looking for places to get them out of the house and get that energy out! Parents, can relate! I hope this place continues to do well. It's such a fantastic addition to the neighborhood that continues to get better year after year.

Three stories of books, games, toys, and gifts, and so much more! This is a huge store, plenty of seating to select and enjoy your favorite book. The staff were really friendly and eager to help. This is any bibliophile's dream.

I am so thrilled to have found Barnes & Nobles is back in Georgetown! And this location is quite the stunner. Three levels of books lovers' dreams. I love the hardwood floors and the vibes. Plenty of space to roam around, the store is clean and well organized. If I had more time; I would find a nook and curl up with a good book. Would love to come back in the near future!

This is a wonderful new bookstore right in Georgetown, the heart of the best district in DC. It's comfortable inside with great air conditioning, and mounds and mounds of books everywhere. In fact, there are three complete levels of books. Don't expect much more than the books that are for sale. There is no cafe, or even the smallest place for people to sit and enjoy checking out the latest book that they purchased. I've been to several other Barnes & Nobles and they are far more superior when it comes to the comfortability and just basic seating arrangements for customers. Here there is none of that, and my guess is because of the city location. I came here this evening and even two of the escalators were broken which was not a huge deal breaker for me. I'm sure older folks have not appreciated that. I guess there were some employees around somewhere to assist customers, but I didn't see any. I go to bookstores, and cafes to sometimes do work, and you for sure won't see me here doing that.

A New Yorker is rating this store. It's excellent location, very relaxed vibe inside......store is friendly.1st floor is more stationeries and upstairs are books. If you love books or stationeries, you'll probably spend an hour to see inside. Safe inside, enjoy shopping! I've attached photos I hope you can see what I'm talking about :)

Your prices are typical school bookstore expensive, but nothing exorbitant. T shirts with Georgetown emblems were around $18 and sweatshirts around $60. I was surprised to find a "Grumpy cat" stuffed animal with a Georgetown tshirt on, as well as Boo, cutest dog in the world in similar attire. The books/textbooks are upstairs, clothing and computers are downstairs. They have numerous employees wandering the store asking if you need any help. I asked one for a medium sweatshirt size and she promptly went to the back and retrieved the right fit for me. They also have a great selection of birthday cards, snacks, baby accessories, and general school supplies. If you want to pick up some Georgetown memorabilia, or if you are a student and want to unwind after a test and get a little shopping therapy. Either way, I recommend this bookstore.

However, in terms of the amount of swag - there's plenty to go around and there's a lot of variety. In terms of books, well it's a student bookstore. You can get plenty of academic related items here and other stuff too if you're in a pinch for say, a bookbag or seriously need some stationary. However, what I like about this shop is the decent variety of clothing options and the fact a lot of noted name brands like Nike, Under Armor and other companies all offer their own line of GU apparel and you can find it all here in one place. Oh btw ... Hoya Saxa!

We both love to read and love bookshops. I love big bookshops, little bookshops, romance bookshops... Lost City Books was a wonderful surprise and immediately became one of my favorite bookshops in DC. Why? It isn't huge, but it makes such good use of its space that I found it to be one of the best stocked independent bookstores I've visited in a long while. I always try to support local independent bookstores when I can, and some of them are tiny (if your neighborhood bookstore is one of the tiny ones, remember they'll probably place orders for you if you want/need something they don't have in stock). But - at the risk of sounding silly - we got lost in time at Lost City Books. We meant to just pop in and quickly pick something to take home. But we wandered through their fiction section and staff picks, pointing out books to each other we loved or have been meaning to read and all of a sudden a half hour had passed and we only really explored one tiny section of the shop. We walked out with four books between us, too. The customer service was friendly to boot. Just a great independent bookshop and another reason to love Adams Morgan.

I've really gotten into loose leaf tea and I think they were surprised by my knowledge (not trying to brag or anything) but sometimes I would ask a question and get a pause or something. Nowadays there's so many great small tea businesses to order from online with so many more unique blends. However it's nice to still shop in person and see the tea. This shop doesn't have an online website and they don't sell online. If I wanted more tea I would call to order and have it shipped. Which for a millennial who prefers to deal solely online is a lot of work. They didn't have as much tea as I would have hoped for especially in terms of flavors. Mostly just plain teas. The lady recommended a mango black tea they call Mango Mist. Unusual brewing instructions. She told me to heat my water to 190 for a black tea which is far too low. I tried both 190 and the usual boiling 212 and much preferred 212. Keep in mind temperature varies for what kind of tea. Pricey for loose leaf compared to other small businesses but it is in downtown Georgetown. I'm not local and I don't think I'd be back even if I was but it was a fun experience.
