Cute book store, friendly staff. Fun to explore. Definitely happy to support a local bookstore vs. the massive Barnes and Noble down the street .

Nuzzled in a row of business, bridge street books caught my eye while walking around Georgetown. With cheap books out front, and a huge selection in a lovely warm building. The staff was inviting and informative, giving me a quick overview of the shop. I found myself exploring other sections since it has a wide variety of books. Without having a book in mind, I found the selection to be inviting, allowing me to see classics and modern offerings. I will likely go back whenever I feel the need for a new random book to pick up at a great deal. Highly recommended

Adorable little bookshop in Georgetown. Make sure you visit the upstairs area too. Has a great selection, you're bound to find something you need! Enjoy browsing! Support small independent bookstores!

Small cute two story shop crammed with books, quiet vibe inside & a good selection. Staff were nice but unobtrusive. Not a lot of extras besides books- some cards/postcards. Sale books out front. Got a great read before catching a flight

Every visit here is just as magical as the first! Warm and quiet, this little bookstore has shelves on shelves of intriguing books for those with a penchant for reading on print. So happy Bridge Street Books is around and I highly recommend stopping by if you are considering it while in town and have the desire to discover something new!

This is a cute bookshop located in Georgetown. There may not be a large selection compared to the giant bookshops you could go to but it does still have some quality reads on offer. Check it out if you're in the area and support the local bookstores!

This is the best bookstore in all of Washington DC. Small intimate, but a amazing cross-section of genres and may be the best poetry selection in the country. No fooling staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. You were bound to find some thing here even if you didn't know that you needed it.

One of the more underrated bookstores in the district imo! It's small and packed with books but I love the regional organization and the staff is nice and eager to help! I've found some unique books I don't think I would've noticed at other bookstores. I wish it was slightly more conveniently located, but I never regret the trek when I make it down there

What a lovely bookstore, great selection of books, the employee helped me finding the books that was looking for, the price of the books were very good as well, I paid five dollars for Dracula ( not used) . There is a table with few good selection of books, which through the pandemic is very helpful.

Such a cute little book store! The worker was very nice and welcoming. I went during a cold night and he was such a warm person letting me know there were more books and heat upstairs! The store had variety of genres. Very unique compilation of Recents. Will have to visit again!

Ask the Community - Bridge Street Books

DOES bridge street books have children and teen sections?

I'm sorry i didn't reply to this in a timely fashion, but if you're still curious and didn't find out the answer is yes. I picked up a Neil Gaiman book aimed at young adult readers.

They converted an old historical building into a large bookstore. As soon as you enter the store you feel the classic renovation and great vibes. Other Barnes and Noble have the same regular retail feel but this location has a vintage originality that you don't find anywhere else. There were three floors filled with books of varying types. It was surprisingly filled with college kids and tourists who were in the area. I was like a kid in the candy store. I went from browsing nonfiction to graphic novels to self-help books. I was able to find a seat and spend my evening going through a good classic self-help book. The only downside was that it was almost nine and the store was closing. I had to head down and make my way out. I wished I had a longer stay in DC to come back here. Most of the Barnes and Noble stores in my area were closing down so it was great to experience a classic bookstore again.

You can get plenty of academic related items here and other stuff too if you're in a pinch for say, a bookbag or seriously need some stationary. We both love to read and love bookshops. I love big bookshops, little bookshops, romance bookshops... Lost City Books was a wonderful surprise and immediately became one of my favorite bookshops in DC. Why? It isn't huge, but it makes such good use of its space that I found it to be one of the best stocked independent bookstores I've visited in a long while. I always try to support local independent bookstores when I can, and some of them are tiny (if your neighborhood bookstore is one of the tiny ones, remember they'll probably place orders for you if you want/need something they don't have in stock). But - at the risk of sounding silly - we got lost in time at Lost City Books. We meant to just pop in and quickly pick something to take home. But we wandered through their fiction section and staff picks, pointing out books to each other we loved or have been meaning to read and all of a sudden a half hour had passed and we only really explored one tiny section of the shop. We walked out with four books between us, too. The customer service was friendly to boot. Just a great independent bookshop and another reason to love Adams Morgan.

My go-to order is usually an iced coffee (or hot, depending on the day), but I've also had their biscuit with egg, cheese, and bacon a few times. That biscuit is perfectly fluffy, the egg is creamy, and the bacon is on point--so good that I've thought about ordering a side of bacon just to have more.
