I had surgery in January 2025, and my patient fees were paid in full before the procedure . Despite that, I am still receiving bills a year and a half later. It took six separate phone calls just to sort out confusion between two duplicate accounts and incorrect insurance information on file. Even after all of that was supposedly resolved, the billing department submitted another claim to my insurance a year and a half after the original date of service, generating yet another bill. The medical care itself may be fine, but the billing department is disorganized, unresponsive, rude and seemingly incapable of managing accounts correctly. If you have surgery here, keep a detailed paper trail and be prepared to follow up repeatedly -- you may be dealing with billing errors long after your procedure is over. read more

The best group of doctors! Dr Dalton took amazing care of my daughter when she broke her wrist. Dr Payne was the best and totally trusted him to do my CTR surgery. He has the best bedside manner. He even called and checked on me that evening to make sure everything was ok and the next day. He also injected my rotator cuff and explained everything. Dr Seiler is extremely knowledgeable and did an amazing job at explaining things. Dr Payne was amazing at seeing my daughter after she broke her clavicle and made me feel better about her healing process. Dr Chang was so great with my son when he broke his wrist. I left my session today feeling completely dismissed. Rather than offering support or guidance, my therapist Sherrie Robert's essentially said there was nothing she could do to help me -- in a tone that felt very careless and unprofessional. When I tried explaining that I was referred here by my doctor/surgeon, she responded as if she didn't even understand that connection. Not here because I chose to but DOCTOR ORDERS. I loved the experience until I got the bill...wow! $85 charge for a 15 minute hand massage which I didn't even realize I received. My insurance didn't pay so I got stuck with the bill. I get a better massage with a manicure which is $25 total package and I can get color if I want. Don't plan to go back. read more

However I give it three stars because of a few negatives! The first being the front desk staff are non approachable if you have any questions and second Time is a very precious thing and I respect your time as I would expect you to respect mine! I have never been late for any of my appointments in the 8 weeks I had to come there (3 visits with the doctor) Yet each time each visit was one to two hours where you only saw the doctor for two to five minutes! My first visit was terrifying with a nurse(I think) who insisted she could get my stitches out without a nerve blocker and refused to stop when I asked her repeatedly! She finally gave in reluctantly and had the doctor do it. There's more but you get the idea! read more

Been waiting 45 minutes to schedule a surgery even though we were told we were "next" to schedule. I wouldn't count on quick and reasonable service if you have an appointment here. The blonde receptionist working the desk could not be any more rude. When I walked in she was too busy demeaning her coworker to acknowledge my presence. Now, even with my headset in, I can still hear her loudly talking in a very condescending voice to others. The waiting room is nice, but there is no one out here that you would dare ask a question to. I found the restroom on my own. I got sent here and had no choice but to come. If you have an option, I would try Peachtree Orthopedic across the street. So much more friendly. I hope the doctor's bedside manner can beat nurse Jackie out here. I went to Georgia Hand about 8 years ago for surgery on my left wrist (don't ever let anyone tell you that moving couches isn't dangerous work!) and was SUPER pleased with Dr. Alexander and his staff. After several years of a ganglion cyst (super common, Google it and you'll go "OH! that thing!") causing issues in the same wrist, I was pleased as punch to see they were taking my insurance. I made an appointment with only a two week wait time, found their new location quite easily, and was thrilled at how quickly the staff got my paperwork in and taken care of. Dr. Alexander was, as so many years ago, professional, quick, thorough and an excellent physician. After an autonomic response, the staff was very kind and let me rest in the office and grabbed a bottle of water for me to sip on. They fixed me right up and got me a follow up appointment for a few weeks later and I'm so glad to have them back on my list! I highly recommend the office and Dr. Alexander! read more

Dr. Dalton has a chip on his hand, shoulder, and elbow. I was here for an appointment 3 weeks ago and decided to leave a review because the experience is still bothering me. Dr. Dalton walked into to room, seemingly made a judgement about me, and conducted the appointment like a "Law and Order" style interrogation. I was so taken aback by his tone and line of questioning, that when asked, I couldn't even remember the name of the physical therapy facility where I had been getting treatment for over a month. I sat there trying to process what was happening. He was curt and accusatory. The appointment was unnecessarily hostile. I felt humiliated and was nearly in tears when I left. I was angry with myself for not being a better advocate for myself and my pain. Dr. Dalton was both condescending and dismissive. If you are having issues and workers compensation is a factor, I recommend going to another doctor. You need someone who'll listen to you and offer solutions. It was an overall INFURIATING experience. read more

I should have read the reviews. I'm just not happy with any aspect of my time at this place. It felt like walmart for broken people. They left me with a pretty bad scar, made me permanently less able than I should be. I'll probably end up with arthritis in the joint, and definitely have tissue damage that was not present in my simple break. I had zero complications, and a very clean break. A cakewalk surgery. But the doctor wasn't paying attention, or just sucks, and didn't put it all back together right. He fixed the broken bone properly, but not the incision he made. Its not bad enough to sue, or even to have it fixed at this point, but that backhand is a thing of the past... From what I have learned it was an 'outdated' procedure that is no longer preferred (except by ghse apparently) because it is known to have mending and mobility issues afterward, and much more overt scarring; where the new methods do not have those problems - and by new, i mean a simple, 10+ year old procedure, not new as in darpa just thought it up. Maybe if these doctors went to school to keep up, instead of lining up the patients like cattle to cram in as much money as possible, they could do a better job for thier patients. They treat you like a number. They are all always in a big hurry for you to wait on them some more. Theyll pass you around between people and leave you forever in one of many different smelly waiting rooms. They will not give you time of day until you pay them when you arrive. Seriously, I was late once, because the time before, they made me sit around for 2 hours; they still made the nurse stand there and wait while they got my little office fee. They told me they'd send me home, even on the day of surgery, if I didn't have payment in full, in advance. They don't even comp your parking, and it's THEIR BUILDING, WOW! And the last time I went, I didn't pay them thier office fee because they were unable to take cash or something... so I told them to send me the bill in the mail, no biggy. They sent it to debt collections instead! So now I have a computer calling me every 20 minutes telling me how they want thier 200 bucks or else, after I've paid them over 10 grand in advance! And they still haven't even managed to mail me the stupid bill! And last, I must have seen my doctor less than 30 minutes the entire 5 or 6 trips I made to this place, including the 3 minutes he breezed by on his way to get ready on surgery day. Not confidence inspiring at all. I'd describe the doctor as flippant and unconcerned. He acted like he had just taken a break from his golf game to swing by the office and make sure they were properly counting the money. I'd describe the staff as curt and cold, rude even, but also overburdened and obviously stressed out. And I'd describe the premises as ticky-tacky and cheap. It didn't smell good. There were stained seats, damaged walls, bad painting, shabby generic art, etc. Just don't go here. Trust the bad reviews. I'm not the first, won't be the last. Want my worthless advice? Go to a University and have a professor do it while some students watch. It'll be cheaper, and it'll be the safest, cleanest, most carefully executed procedure ever. You'll heal faster, and be better off in the end. read more

Horrible attitude beginning with the front desk. They were extremely rude and would not allow an interpreter for the patient. Rudely told us, not asked, to leave the premises in front of the entire waiting room. Even though we do not have temperatures and are wearing masks. We are Hispanic so my only reasonable assumption is they are racist. They were referred from the workmen's comp insurance company so I do not have any faith in a diagnosis that benefits the patient and ensures a complete recovery, only that the insurance company does not have to pay out much. read more

Had to go the emergency room for a hand injury. The er doctor called Dr John Dalton at like 4 in the morning. Dr john was very helpful informative and set me up an appointment to see him the next day. When I did get to see him his office staff is very friendly, professional, and informative though the whole process. He is very thorough and a perfectionist, which I think in a medical field is a great quality! I definitely recommend him and his team! read more

I recently had a carpal tunnel release surgery with Dr. Alexander at the Peachtree Rd location. The staff has generally been great to work with and Dr. Alexander could not be more pleasant in his demeanor and level of explanation. He does not necessarily offer details as some people would prefer not to hear them, but, if asked, he will get as detailed as you need him to be. I am a detail person and want to know everything that is going on, including potential complications. Dr. Alexander went into great detail about my surgery and told me exactly what to expect. I have never felt rushed. I opted to be awake for the procedure and utilize local anesthetic. The OR personnel were excellent and kept me informed about what was going on. At one point, the local was not working and Dr Alexander added more anesthesia immediately. The procedure was virtually painless and took only about 10-15 minutes to perform. I stood up from the OR table, walked out to the lobby and went home with my hand wrapped. I had mild pain, but nothing severe following the surgery. Dr Alexander offered limited pain relief medication that was more than adequate. After less than 1 week, I have very little to no pain and am ready to schedule surgery for my other hand. On the day of surgery, they do validate parking so there is no fee. Wait times can be long, but that is typical in an office full of surgeons that can be needed at a moment's notice and are on-call for their patients in need. Living in metro Atlanta, I have learned that if you are not waiting for something, then you are probably not getting what you are paying for, and sometimes not even then. I have waited over an hour for dinner, so I can wait an hour to receive quality health care. I can wait for a great product and, so far, that is what I have received. read more

I was hit by a car in February 2018. I broke my femur (upper leg) and my radius (forearm), dislocated my wrist very badly, chipped some vertebrae in my neck and had some brain bleeding. It wasn't until about a month after my accident that we realized that my arm was paralyzed from injury to my brachial plexus. That's when I began coming to Georgia Hand, Shoulder and Elbow. Over the last 13 months I've had countless therapy sessions with both Dan and Phillip and had two surgeries (each was two nerve transfers) performed by Dr. Seiler and Dr. Payne. Although I'm still working towards full recovery, I couldn't be happier with the treatment I've received thus far. The team at GHSE has provided the expert guidance and support I've needed to recover. I will continue to visit their office until I'm fully healed, and will insist any friends or family with arm injuries use GHSE for treatment. Thanks for all your help! read more

The doctor I saw for my hand was personable and seemed competent, but I can't say the same for his support staff. The rest of the staff ranged from surly, harried to politely disinterested. The waiting times to see my doctor were inexcusable. Clearly he is being routinely overbooked so that while he's making an effort to be thorough, it's clear he's ready to bolt out of the exam room to not fall further behind. Practices who don't respect their patient's time don't deserve to have any. read more

Went here when I broke a finger, just a month or so too late. I waited too long before seeing a doctor and getting x-rays so my finger had already healed by the time I saw Dr. Starr at Georgia Hand, Shoulder, & Elbow. However, my appointment was very quick, no wait and they followed up with me to see how I was doing and get me back in for a second appt. I ended up not needing surgery so it was only 2 check-ups that I had here but the staff was courteous of me and my time and I will definitely come back if I injure myself again. read more

Dr. Seiler is a great hand doctor, and thank goodness the wait times have decreased enormously since the move to his own building (warning: parking is expensive). I am, however, irritated by the billing protocol of this practice and am deducting a star because of it. A minute after you've left your appointment with Dr. Seiler, the billing department kicks in, even though it's so early that the insurance hasn't yet been filed. Dr. Seiler has superior medical expertise, but I wish he would put a stop to the unnecessarily aggressive and over-the-top billing practices. read more

This Group seems more interested in billing for a procedure (CPT Code) than finding a cure and bringing a resolution to pain. We were charged two office co-pays for the same office visit. We were given the lame excuse that the "patient" saw two different providers (good thing we did not stop by to see the billing clerk otherwise we probably would have been billed a third co-pay). Same visit, same practice, same treatment plan, same injury. The doctor charged a co-payment to refer us to a physical therapist in same practice (providing absolutely no value to the treatment process). Physical therapist charged a co-pay as well (she actually provided value) by adding the charge to the next bill. (They couldn't even inform us at the time of the visit that they were charging us twice.) Doctor also got paid by insurance (and we wondering why health costs are so high). This practice seems more interested in finding the right CPT code than the right treatment plan and more incentivized by the number of treatments they can prescribe than the effectiveness of the prescribed treatment. (Also loved the robo calls at dinner time to tell us that the 'disputed' billing had been emailed to us another time.) read more
