His nurse Amber was very sweet and was able to get my echo done today as well with this visit. The two AA ladies who did my preworkup (history and EKG) were magnificent as well (Sorry I dont know your names). The echo technician was excellent. She was super, super nice and engaged in great conversation during the test. It was so full in the lobby when I got there, but one of the checkout ladies came from her desk to check people in from her hand held device to assist the the ladies working the four check in windows. I was very impressed with that.

The receptionist submitted the wrong lab test order to the lab technician when I checked in for my scheduled lab appointment. As a result, I had to go back for more blood to be drawn, costing me more time and money. This is not the first costly mistake that I've experienced here, nor, sadly has it been the last. There appears to be little to no communication among the office staff. No one can answer any questions, even simple, general questions that would normally be handled by competent office staff. Instead, the patient is handed off to someone else, who in turn either can't or won't answer questions either. The onus is on the patient to figure out their processes, yet asking questions to understand that process or to try to resolve an issue, is actively discouraged through rudeness and passing the patient off to someone else for an elusive answer that never comes. No one listens to understand what the challenge is, nor do they show any interest or initiative in resolving the actual issue. Solutions are non-existent and, as a result, the quality of care has deteriorated significantly. The problem appears to lie with the office staff rather than the nurse practitioners, who seem to be competent and capable. Perhaps better training for your office staff on clear processes, problem resolution, and setting of expectations will prevent more patients from leaving before you no longer have a viable practice.

In addition, Dr. Buchanan has joined the staff and he too is wonderful. Both doctors will take their time, explain your test and recommend treatment, while respecting your concerns and opinions. We started calling 2 weeks in advance and still nothing. Even the pharmacy called them multiple times and got nothing. I was missed diagnosed by them 3 times. 2 were life treating (pulmonary embolisms) and the other was me having so much fluid around my brain I was going blind. Luckily I went to macon and they took care of the issues. I was admitted for congestive heart failure once as well and one of the female doctors came in and shut off my oxygen when I needed 7 liters in order to breath. These doctors don't care about you or your health.
