We love spending time at the R Ranch with our family. We enjoy riding the horses, playing on the pool, staying in the cottages and camping at the campsites. There are numerous activities to attend, such as pickleball, disc golf, fishing, card games, board games and pot luck dinners at the lodge. The staff and owners have always made us feel welcome and been so informative when we ask questions. We have met and become friends with so many nice people. The Ranch itself is beautiful. We were in town for an out of state wedding that was being held at the ranch. upon checking in there is a total breakdown in communication amongst the staff. We were first told that we had paid in advance. then told that we hadn't but no one really knew and we had to wait till the next day until "someone who would know would be there." The next day when we stopped back to the office, we were charged more because they had a rate increase within the last 9 months since we made our reservation and had to pay even more! upon entering the cabin which we were told slept nine people. we quickly discovered it did NOT! we quickly called to resolve the issue only to be told that there was nothing they could do nor was there anything they could offer for our additional guest to stay. the Ranch's solution to this was (and these words are exactly what was said) "you can sleep 3 adults per queen size bed" now keep in mind that one of these beds was a queen size hideabed! we then discovered that there was not enough linens for our party that was flying in from out of state. the Ranch would not provide any more than the 4 bath towels for 9 people, 1 dish cloth and 1 dish towel to clean dishes with for a week. Gross! We ended up spending hundreds of dollars extra that we were not prepared for to purchase additional linen towels, blankets, pillows and an air mattress that we had to sleep on in the middle of the kitchen. we also had to purchase cookware because what was provided wouldn't hold a piece of chicken without falling off due to a broken handle and a banged-up bottom. we asked for 1 pan and was told "housekeeping will swing by and take a look". NEVER saw a soul! needless to say, we are extremely disappointed in the compassion they showed their guest who were clearly upset with the Ranch. We ended up making the best we could out of a bad situation. The staff has very little if any interest in making their guest feel at home and welcome. We felt dismissed and our concerns swept under the rug. would not stay there again. read more

My autistic grandson loves the Ranch. We have been owners for 7 years. We dropped to a one star because a highly intoxicated teacher from a local Elementary school cussed my 10 year old autistic son, myself, and my disabled husband out became she thought my son was trying to drown her Grandmother. (He was trying to love on her) Because I'm a mandated reporter I turned her in to her supervisor. Her supervisor did not keep my report anonymous and told the teacher I reporter her. The teacher told the R Ranch I tried to get her fired, which I didn't, I just reported the abuse and behavior, so we have been kicked out of the R Ranch. This teacher took an oath to protect children and instead she hurt him with her obscenities, insults, and enraged behavior. If that wasn't enough she took the one place my son gets much needed therapy away from him. She lied to the director and board and they made a decision to kick us out based on her lies. They never asked us or the 60 to 80 witnesses what really happened nor did they consider that I am a mandated reporter and I could loose my job if I did not report that she was drunk in public and disorderly as well as abusing a child verbally. Luca only offers unconditional love and an infectionist smile. He is so loving and will not understand the hate that took his favorite place to away from him. read more

We held our wedding at R Ranch and couldn't have been happier with our coordinator and with the wedding and reception. However, the R ranch staff leaves much to be desired. We worked with someone to book a bunch of cabins for a family wedding weekend and when staff changed, we were in danger of losing many of them - thank God we saved the previous email confirmations! We rented two golf carts - one broke and the replacement didn't work. The refund process is ridiculous and I don't expect to see much back. Some of the cabins have been upgraded but many haven't. Believe them when they say rustic. read more

For an RV Resort, this is an amazing place. The amenities are unbelievable but the greatest thing going is the people that are there. They work together to have big events like outdoor concerts, pool parties, movie nights on a big screen outdoors, and football parties with vendors. The resort also has horse trail rides, walking trails, and playgrounds for the kids. There is an endless amount of wonderful things to do there and I love being an owner here. read more

**This review is solely placed on the event planner and office manager, not the R Ranch itself. In January of 2020 we sat down with an event coordinator to plan my Son and now Daughter in law's wedding. We picked the day of Friday, June 5 2020. And then...covid. We spoke with the planner and decided to try for a day in August and again, because of restrictions we had to choose another date. When we called to speak to the event planner again we found out that she no longer worked there (apparently the one we originally spoke to was replaced by someone else who only worked there for a month or two) so we spoke to the second planner and agreed on the June 5th wedding day and was assured that it would be changed on the calendar. When we called in September we talked to Blaine, the office manager and was told that even though he did not have the calendar in front of him, he would go right then and make sure we were on for Saturday, June 5th of 2021. Never once thinking we needed something in writing because we had spoken directly to the office manager and was ASSURED that we had that date, and we already had a contract and had paid the deposit. Starting in February of this year we started calling the R Ranch, leaving messages and speaking with the front office staff. We were told that someone would call us back, that they had yet ANOTHER event planner, Christine, and they would make sure they got our messages. Finally, on Friday March 5th we physically went to the R Ranch to try and speak to someone about out event. After some rude comments from the front office we finally were told to wait and that Blaine, after completing a tour, would speak to us. So we waited. FINALLY I went into the office and asked how much longer it would be and Blaine came out. He physically took us up to the lodge, told us, under no uncertain circumstances that on Saturday June 5th he would bend over backwards to make this the party of their dreams. Even went as far as showing us all the new table cloths and tchotchkes that they had. Now, what I have not explained until now is that both my husband, Son and now, daughter-in-law (they eloped in February) are all Firefighter/Paramedics. They have been chin deep in the fiasco that is the Covid Pandemic for well over a year with little time to do much else other than work. But...that didn't seem to matter to Blaine or Christine because on Tuesday March 9th my daughter-in-law received a phone call telling her that they had given our date to another party, that we would not be able to use the lodge but that they would accommodate us the best they could by...putting us in tents, with no access to restrooms or electricity and that they would "choose the size of the tents" offered. ALL for the exact same price and they would have charged us for the lodge, $4900...for tents. They also 'offered' to help us find a new facility and told us that there was nothing available locally but that they found two venues that were both well over an hour away from us. Now, Blaine tried to explain it away by saying we didn't have anything in writing (except we did with our first contract) and that if it was him he would have "called and made sure that such a big event was covered well before March"...which we did, we have phone records. He also told me in an email that there was no contractual agreement with us, which there clearly was, along with our deposit. It seems to me that there was no formal transition into the three event coordinators which is why we were tossed to the side. I just caution anyone who is thinking about using the R Ranch as a venue to be aware of the incompetency of Blaine, the office manager and Christine, the event planner. They will lie to your face, and then become keyboard commanders when they don't have to look at you in the eye. Not only are we dealing with what this pandemic has done to the original plans for this wedding but we are also having to deal with that fact that the venue is unprofessional and inadequate to fulfill a commitment they made to paying customers. I hope that they will take this as an opportunity to figure out what went wrong and how they can make it right so that in the future, others don't have their dreams shattered by the mishandling of what should be such a memorable event. read more

I went to an outdoor wedding here yesterday and I must say the views are absolutely gorgeous. You could tell the rolling hills were alive when halfway through the ceremony you could hear wild yells coming from the horseback riders down below. You must be an "owner" to utilize the property horseback riding, lodge amenities, playground etc. But they also have weddings and special events as well. It was a nice location although a little to country for this California girl. The lodge was comprised of a huge front porch with several rocking chairs, a small lobby attached to a small room which could be used for a cocktail hour. Through the doors held a moderate sized banquet room with huge round light fixtures. Overall, it was a beautiful location but we won't be going back just for fun. read more

I am a very happy owner at the ranch. I can say I am a part owner of a 900 acre horse ranch in the mountains. We have a motor-home and we get to enjoy the wonderful views, full hookups, horses and beautiful gated property. We can even store our motor-home up there. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Other features include: 24 hour security, lake for fishing, canoes, cabins, putt putt, swings, tennis courts, pool, chapel ... the list goes on and on. It's an affordable place that you should come check out if you want a second home in the mountains. read more

Great place for families. They offer a variety of cabins at varying prices. We stayed in the Rainbows and relatives stayed at the horse cabin. The rustic cabins were cheaper but I didn't want to share a bathroom. Plenty of open space and opportunities to ride horses and experience the outdoors. There is a little chapel on the hill if you want to visit the church. Overall a great memorable experience. read more

I just attended a granddaughter's wedding at R-Ranch and it was beautiful. Unfortunately, the weather was not cooperative for the outdoor wedding she wanted but R-Ranch accommodated the wedding beautifully in their lovely "lodge" with a window wall to take in the beautiful view, gorgeous, round chandeliers, white folding chairs and a fire in the fireplace. There was an immediate cocktail hour in the smaller room after the ceremony while R-Ranch employees set up tables and chairs for dinner in the ceremony room. The rain cleared up for about 2 hours and allowed for a photo session outdoors before sunset which resulted in some lovely pictures with the beautiful hills of R-Ranch in the background. The whole thing was done professionally with delicious hors d'oeuvres and dinner and well trained servers. I would highly recommend R-Ranch for any special event, i.e. birthdays, Christmas parties, anniversaries or weddings! This was my first visit ever to R-Ranch and I loved it. We stayed in one of the rustic cabins and it was so much better than I had anticipated. I hope to visit again some day, maybe in the spring when the abundant rhododendrons are blooming. read more
