I've been out of college for 7 years and I was nervous about going back . This school isn't in the best area BUT it is tucked away in its own world . This is a really great school despite the other reviews on here . Just like other schools there are bad teachers and really great ones . Just do your research and go to ratemyprofessor.com before you choose your class. I give this school a 5 out of 5 because of the great value . You're getting the same education (maybe even better because of small class sizes ) for less then half the cost read more

Formerly the Dekalb College branch, I don't know if the Clarkston campus is the Oldest of all the Perimeter campus selections, but it has a few years on it. That's okay however, as i've taken a few classes here and respect this little campus that could. There've been a few welcome additions, namely the newish library rear parking deck and student orientation center. As for professors themselves, the ones i've encountered have all been passionate about what they were teaching, though others may have other experiences. There are so many entrances to GPC that if one is jammed with congestion, you can usually whip around to another exit to get out more quickly, and it will get jammed, especially if the rear stadium is being used, so watch out evening class takers! Must admit, i'm not such a huge fan of their laboratory set ups. They're either too small or stocked with older equipment (though they're slowly getting new equipment), but if you have a good professor, they'll work around those short comings. As someone else mentioned, and I agree with her, classes are dirt cheap compared to GSU or UGA, and depending on where you live, there's a campus somewhere close by. It's a 2 year school, has a little age on it, but you can learn here and at the price you're paying for semester hours, you can't beat it. read more

Update: The first day of school was on July 8th. I went to the bookshop after class to get my overcharged bill sorted out. I kid you not; they were BLASTING Gangster Rap, from the speakers. In a College? WTF?? 2 year or not, it is a college. When Chris put my face to my name, he hurried up and got me the hell out of his bookstore. I got a credit of close to $50. Again, this is a VERY unprofessional business and I would strongly encourage anyone who deals with them to really watch the billing. ** I will say this. Every state has a Junior College. There is NOTHING wrong with them. People go to Junior Colleges for various reasons, whether it is age, affordability, or just needing that ONE class to graduate. I could have easily gone to GSU but I can't see paying $1200 for one class compared to $350. It's the same level and the same book. I could have a crappy teacher there, just like I could have one at GPC Clarkston. What I have an issue with is the lax attitude by the administration. If you know that a particular campus has certain issues, then you have an obligation to the students to correct them and not ignore them. There is a guy in my Communications class that goes to Emory during the school year and we love our professor. I just think that with anything you will always have a few bad apples that make it bad for everything or everyone. ** read more

This place is old and seems shady. I went for an "interview" for the LPN to RN program and my transcripts weren't even transcribed correctly. It's old and dirty, no one seems interested in actually helping the students. read more

We are sorely disappointed with this school. We drove an hour for the Atlanta science festival 2018 and it took another 30 minutes to find where we were supposed to be on the campus. Even so, they told us it was full and we couldn't participate. That's a horrendous thing you could do to a science interest kid. How disappointing. As far as the campus, its quite dated. read more

The campus does seem a bit outdated, but the parking is easily accessible as there are many entrances/ exits to leave the campus. The professors at the college are hardworking, and try their best to work with students academically. However, the administrative staff is horrible! I was given the run around. I had an issue regarding my financial aid, and it took SEVERAL visits to the campus to "try" and straighten it out. The attitude I received from the staff was very unprofessional. I understand the staff deals with many people, so be prepared to feel like livestock. You are nothing but a number at the campus versus a student. I am attending this school mainly because I just moved here. A 4 year college campus for and out of state student is expensive. If you are deciding to attend the Clarkston Campus, be prepared for HEADACHES. The admin staff, financial aid staff, as well as the counselors are very "cocky". I STRONGLY recommend for those searching for possible campuses to look else ware. read more

All the talk about STEM being so hard and racist professors is a load of BS. I am a current sophomore at Perimeter College, (not a fan of GSU) and I have enjoyed every moment I've been here. The classes are not hard, but time management is an issue for most students here. I understand how important my future is which is why I take the time out to study. For students that believe there is a lot of racism, no matter what color your skin is you have the same opportunities and resources as another student with a difference in color. Many students who are in need of assistance do not take advantage of the resources that are available, and as a result, they are the students that do not do well unfortunately. I have yet to meet a single racist professor, so I'm not sure where that is coming from. I see plenty of rude and disrespectful students that are lazy here though, so I can understand if they feel like they're not being treated the same. You get out of Perimeter what you put in. read more

Horrible, horrible school. Very rude and dry attitude and incompetent staff. They lost my transcripts, I had to call many times, go up their plenty of times and got the run around, too much red tape. Worst part of it all, is they put me down as an out of state student, when I proved to them that I am a GA resident, I been here for well over 10 years. I gave them, bank statements, car registration, drivers license, mortgage statements etc, EVERYTHING they asked for. I was told that everything was fine and that once I was accepted, they would change my status immediately ,just give them a call. Once I turned in my second H'S transcript, I called the lady in the registrar's office, when I called I told her that, "I just went on line to see if my transcript posted and it did and I have been accepted", she says in a very flat tone " I'll call you back" by this time I know I'm getting the run around so I say "when, today or tomorrow?" of course she says "if not today then tomorrow" tomorrow came and went and I did not receive a call from her. So, I dint even bother to call back. I decide to go over her head. I spoke with someone over admissions and she checks into it, after I tell her how unprofessional her staff has been. She does a thing or two on her computer and in less than 30 minutes, she then tells time that I have been changed from out -of -state to instate, I'm like wow, that seemed really simple!. Fine, so I think. I go home to check it for myself and it doesn't say so. I Call back and they tell me its not going to show on the school site you'll just have to come in for orientation and blah, blah, blah. This school does not encourage you it really discourages you. They have really put a bad taste in my mouth. I would not have expected this coming from them!!!!!!! ITS THE PITS read more
