While visiting atlanta we went to many different places and saw many things. Luckily we got to see Georgia tech campus. It was a nice campus that seemed to be filled with passionate college football fans. There was a game going on while we were down there so it made it very crowded but fun to see the atmosphere

I've had a few occasions over the years to visit some part of the Tech campus or another. Great tennis camps when I was a junior player; fun times watching the Hoos win a few football games, and in most recent years a couple of 5Ks in and around campus. Running Nerds Racing Team does a Big Ol' Group Run in Dec that skirts part of campus as you cover a bit of the Westside - it was kind of a teaser for the great 5K I did yesterday, which was entirely on campus. The streets are pretty and have that city-college-blend I have always associated positively with Tech (different, for example, than the college-town atmosphere of UVA, my alma mater & the atmosphere I wanted for school). It was neat seeing students milling about on their early Sat mornings, on a gorgeous and too warm for Nov day. The race itself had just enough of the hills, and plenty of flat parts as we ran by buildings with The Big Names, dorms, and other parts that make it fun to be on any college campus again. Running for a good cause (and seeing most people dressed up in Halloween, er, Superhero costumes!) made it an even better day.

I have visited this campus twice and although I cannot personally speak to much other than the architecture this is a splendid campus. Festooned with prodigious buildings, dazzling foliage, and LEED facilities this truly is a world-class institution. If nothing more I would recommend stopping by and hanging out on one of the hammocks in the hammock hive by the student center and taking in the stunning views.

The education is top notch for anything engineering and the contacts you make are invaluable for both personal and business interests... However the following points are important to know: 1) the ratio of male to females is 7 to 1 (this school is one giant sword fight) Consequences: *if you are female, this does not guarantee that you will enjoy the male dominated student body. Many female alumni have complained of the lack of quality in the male student body in terms of but not limited to appearance, hygiene, social skills, and so on... (others enjoy the extra attention) *if you are male be prepared to deal with what is referred to as "Tech B1tch Syndrome" or "TBS" (yes, it's ironic that the cable station is close by) The rest of the list only applies if you are an undergrad engineering major: 2) GT is a good school and because of that you will get a good amount of relevant and difficult work (depending on your major) Consequences: *you will be better prepared for the (engineering aspect of the) real world *this will negatively affect your social life. This is affectionately referred to as "the Shaft". *it will be rare to find good (or any non-sausage party) parties on campus. You need to make friends in neighboring schools. (If you are female, this may or may not apply to you depending on your tastes) 3) since we're on the subject of "the Shaft", it should be noted that the professors on a whole at GT are sadistic jerks 4) this may have changed but based on past statistics only 10% of an incoming freshman class will graduate (the rest will either change schools or get kicked out) 5) if you take the normal and less stressful route at Tech and are not an einstein, it will probably take you five years to graduate (depending on the major and your discipline); and no, this does not take into account co-op jobs or internships 6) if you are out of state - stay home; if you're stubborn work a year without going to school in GA so you can get in-state tution rates, some spending money, and some work experience when you graduate 7) grad school is a much more enjoyable experience at Tech than undergrad

Came here to see my brother's swim meet. They're really making money off this parking. Lord

I wasn't on campus long and didn't see much of it to be honest. I just finished having a very underwhelming chilidog special at The Varsity and decided to walk off those turds and waddled over to GT. From what I saw, campus was very nice. Grant Field was impressive too. Not for it's size, but it's layout. There doesn't seem to be a bad seat in the house. Friendly staff allowed me to walk through the reception area and look around the stadium. Nice place.

Real talk, Georgia has like 7 ranks of schools 1 being highest 7 being lowest…read more 3. and 4. really are on the same level of prestige 1. Really High-Ranking Schools, it would be difficult to get into (Georgia Institute of Technology, Emory University, University of Georgia) and Mercer 2. Safety Schools like GA State University (merged with Ga Perimeter College), Kennesaw State University (merged with Southern Polytechnical State University), Georgia Southern University, Columbus State University 3. HBCUs which are really in a class of their own (Morehouse, Clayton State University, Clark Atlanta University, Albany State, Savannah State University, Fort Valley State University, etc) or Atlanta Technical College 4. All woman colleges like Spellman or Agnes Scott 5. Colleges weirdly named small private schools or religious schools you see ads for or considered but will most likely not go to/not ranked Nationally not an HBCU PBI or Minority Majority School but are for the local population (Ga Perimeter, Ga Gwinnett, Gwinnett Tech, Augusta State, Valdosta State, Middle Georgia, South Georgia, UWG, UNG, Dalton, Armstrong Atlantic State University, College of Coastal Georgia, Ga College & State University - not to be confused with Georgia State University, Devry University, Life University, Beulah Heights University, South University, Thomas University, Shorter University, Thomas University, Reinhardt University, Baulder, Wesleyan Abraham Baldwin Agricultural, Brewton-Parker, Berry, Paine, Columbia Theological Seminary, Lagrange, Piedmont, Truett-McConnell, Emmanuel, 6. Lol no offense imo but rip-off or Non-Accredited Colleges like SCAD the Art Institute of Atlanta 7. last and least lol 2-year colleges or Technical College or Vocational Schools Some of the rankings blend but generally shoot for the higher ranks of schools if you can't start at the lower ranks. Unfortunately, there's a huge gap between the Really Highly Ranked Colleges and the Safety Schools which seems like there is a barrier of entry for marginalized students or POC, but you could work hard and transfer even if you start at a 2 year college or Technical College. So, by all means considerably Id say in the state of Georgia, GA State University is a great option if you care for Research and name and prestige and diversity and value financially Return of Interest.

HONORS COLLEGE ONLY! (other GSU faculty and staff were great)…read more Parents and students: be aware that the Honors College at GSU has a troubling internal culture that can impact student experiences. Leadership frequently forgot the names of Black students and faculty who had been part of the program for years, while white and lighter-skinned students and staff were consistently remembered and engaged. Students were also treated unfairly. For example, one student with ADHD/Autism was yelled at by a leadership employee for harmless stimming, and others were spoken about negatively behind their backs, including being called "weird" despite social challenges. Black students were often only engaged for photo ops or promotional events, rather than receiving genuine support. Overall, the environment can feel hostile and unwelcoming, and students should know that office culture may affect their experience in this program.
