Knowledgeable and friendly. Especially good with terriers and schnauzer-type dogs. But knows ALL dogs.

I took my mother's lab in for a grooming and am very pleased. They fit me in last minute, did a thorough job, and she came home very happy.

Their approach was calm, clear, and incredibly effective -- they helped us understand why our dog was acting out and taught us how to respond in ways that built trust and confidence. One thing that really stood out was how thoughtful and hands-on they were -- they even brought two of their own well-balanced dogs to help with socialization. That made a huge difference in helping our pup feel more comfortable and learn from positive role models. We saw real results quickly and now feel so much more connected and in control. If you're facing behavioral challenges -- especially with a rescue -- Good Dog Workshop is the team you want in your corner. We're so grateful for their help in bringing out the best in our dog.

Her training method is straightforward and effective; there was no need for overly-complicated training exercises or special tools. I am still amazed by how quickly we fell into better habits and behaviors, and therefore a better relationship. My dog was very serious and somewhat-aloof when I first adopted her; now she is a huge goofball who loves to snuggle and be best friends with anyone who comes in to the house. I have met with Marina twice, and plan on working with her again in the future. I highly recommend Good Dog Workshop-they know what they're doing!

We adopted our boy Mortimer last year after he had been…read moreliving as a stray, and we were really struggling when he came home with basic manners, reactivity, and having him settle in with our other dog. We ended up sending both of our boys for a six-week board and train with Kelia. It seemed to only make sense to send both dogs so they would have the same baseline training. Kelia was amazing! She kept us informed just about every day with videos and texts so we could see that the boys were happy and making progress. When Kelia brought the boys home, she spent a few hours with us, showing all the commands and techniques that she taught them, so we had a seamless transition. The "place" command alone has been lifechanging. (Although as you can see in the picture, they sometimes refuse to use separate mats, LOL.) We use the command before we feed them, initially when guests come by, and when we just need them to settle down a bit. It has reduced the stress and chaos in our house tenfold, and we actually can see the boys relax when they know they have a place to go and chill out. Kelia also gave us the tools to make leash walking and general obedience so much more successful. There are a lot of options out there for training. What set Controlled K9 apart for us was (1) our boys lived with Kelia, her family, and her dogs during training - they were not staying in a kennel and were in a real-life, loving environment, and (2) the promise of lifetime, free follow-up support. The boys have been home now for about 3 months. The training has stuck, and we feel like we really have the tools we need to make life pleasant for all of us, including the boys. Kelia has also proactively checked in to make sure things are going well, provided tips on the best way to reinforce training, and has responded quickly when we have follow-up questions, including offering a visit. Over three months later, we are still completely satisfied with the training and support provided by Controlled K9 and Kelia, and we would use them again in a heartbeat.

And this last personality trait caused several issues. She grew used to the freedom of a large property and was very resistant to being on a leash. Pulling and too excited to walk nicely. She loves playing with our 7-year-old but was too rough, jumping and nipping. She had an electric fence collar that she respected when she wanted to, and would recall when she felt like it. Our home training was ineffective as she grew older and as she started to develop new bad habits, we were looking for training options. Finding Controlled K9 for Board and Train was the best scenario as we had an upcoming month-long family trip planned. Lexie was so confident with her from the first moment that we didn't question that we were leaving her in the best hands. We regularly received pictures and videos showing her progress and we could see how our puppy was doing. It was unbelievable. After 4 weeks we got back an almost different dog. At first we were concerned that she might have lost her puppy spirit, but she returned to her cute silliness and endless affection very quickly. Meanwhile she had learned great manners. Walks on the leash without pulling. Stops when we stop. She stays at the property line and waits until we return. Runs with our child without jumping. She recalls reliably despite distractions. And no longer chases the cats. And a bonus, we can now even take her out in public easily. She calmly stays next to our table without bothering other people or dogs. She learned Respect. And while not perfectly, we have been able to maintain the learning. Thank you Lexie! And thank you Controlled K9!

Pebbles (blue heeler, 1.5 years old) would never listen to me, would not sit or lay still, and had a lot of other obedience issues that caused her to be stressed or confused. She was a TOUGH dog to train and I was concerned I couldn't find the solution for her to get basic concepts. This view has completely changed since working with RSK9's 3 week program. I would HIGHLY recommend them and their methods - you can tell they genuinely love working with dogs and it's made a huge difference in giving my dog the chance to find real rest at home. They send DAILY updates with photos and videos which was so nice. This isn't a regular class or something you just pay for; it's truly an investment that you and your dog will be using for the time you get to share together. Side note: it's worth doing 3 weeks versus 2 weeks. At the 2 week mark is when Pebbles really started to understand her marks and cues. From here there is so much more that can be refined and Brandi/Perry really capitalize on that threshold being crossed!

The barn owner is excellent about communication, and related he was very concerned about booking them because their service has taken a steep nose dive. They had been booked for service in June and did not show up on scheduled dates, but luckily other barn workers were there to cover for them. If not, my pony and the other animals would have suffered. The Zorgers Pet Care Service owner explained it was all a big misunderstanding and our barn owner reluctantly booked again (it was too late to arrange another service for July). Communication from Zorgers was spotty, and very unfortunately again a feeding/watering was missed. Luckily a veterinarian was at the barn and spotted the distress the animals were in and corrected the situation. I am told that Zorgers offered no excuse, billed for the no-shows, and when confronted with all of this replied 'we've never had any problems. People love us.' If you do use this service, pay attention to the red flags. And don't say you weren't warned.

Careful of reviews. I was at first awed by the stellar reviews of Zorger's Pet Care LLC…read more What my dog and I experienced was something completely opposite. Nikki Zorger reportedly a licensed veterinary technician in Virginia and the owner made time to meet and greet my cherished dog and me. I truly valued what I perceived as caregiver who was warm, loving, and compassionate in ensuring quality care for living creatures. I entrusted Nikki and her company Zorger's Pet Care LLC to two (2) 30 min walks for 3 days a week, no feeding, freshening water and giving treat. I was delighted to receive walking reports and photo. The price was awesome, and now I think probably too good to be true--it was indeed. I began to notice the emergency pee pads completely saturated upon my return. This raised my concern when I knew my sweet girl hated to urinate inside the house and had rarely ever used the absorbent pads. I attributed this increased urination due to increased water consumption due to the increased exercise she was supposedly getting. I WAS WRONG. Completely Wrong. On 10/13/21 Nikki Zorger of Zorger's Pet Care LLC was to provide 2 x 30 min walks; the first between 10AM-1PM & The second between 3PM-6PM. I received an emailed report that the first walk went fine with reports of my dogs urination and defecation and general well being. On 10/13/21 I received a call from my housekeepers who had met Nikki once. They notified me at 5pm that no one had yet come to walk my dog. I drove home arriving at 5:30PM. I met with the housekeepers and they said no one has come from 3:04 pm to 5:30PM for the second walk.. I waited until 6PM. At 6PM I emailed Nikki asking what time my dog had last been walked. Nikki's email reply stated "around 4pmish" I called and emailed and texted asking for Zorger's Pet Care to help me understand the discrepancy and incongruency in her email. I had no response from Zorger's Pet Care. I did receive an email the following day. I was informed that Nikki had completed the first walk but had an emergency requiring her to go out of town and that she had made arrangements for Holly to walk my dog for the second walk. Who is Holly? She said she would speak with Holly in the AM upon her return. and she would have to "wrap her head around" a client receiving a visit report for a visit not completed. In her late night email, Nikki explained her emergency and how she contacted her administrative team to make arrangements to cover the remaining appointments. Nikki stated Holly was the walker.....who is Holly? I was informed they were unable to contact Holly nor could they locate her and she had my keys. Holly had been entrusted with the care of my dog without my knowledge and in possession of my keys. I experienced 3 separate occasions of saturated wet pads which makes me believe "Holly" had been providing the routine care. The 10/13/21 event confirmed the lies from Nikki and Zorger's Pet Care LLC . On 10/13/21 I received false documentation of services and billing for services that were never provided. I was informed that Nikki was not my dogs care giver after agreeing it would be only Nikki and if not, I would be notified if it weould be someone other than Nikki as in case of emergency. If not, I would be given the opportunity to meet the individual. Neither notification of emergency nor change in caregiver nor opportunity to meet ever occurred. Zorger's Pet Care LLC without my knowledge gave my keys to 'Holly" .I asked for return of my keys and was informed by Zorger's Pet Care LLC, Holly could not be contacted nor located and they were trying to meet with Holly. A report was filed with local police to have on record since my keys were given to someone without my knowledge and who could not be contacted/ located . The following Monday, i received emailed and photo confirmation that my keys had been secured. I received them via certified mail on Tuesday. The erroneous billing of services that were not provided were corrected and invoice was paid in full. From other reviews and my own experience, unfortunately, it appears there are frequent emergencies which disrupt the care operations of Zorger's Pet Care LLC, it's unfortunate for the animals who depend upon this care. Please Practice having a questioning attitude when reading these reviews. I wish I had. I'm grateful my cherished dog is not hurt. I am grateful she did not experience any greater neglect in her care from what I thought was a reputable pet care service. What hurts more is to think of the well being of vulnerable living creatures who are entrusted into the care of Zorger's Pet Care LLC and other pet care companies. Their loving owners who want only the best for their pets from companies whose owners either don't care themselves or do not care to perform due diligence on their employees.
