We had plenty of time and I thought that we'd both enjoy a little exploration around West Lake Okoboji first. Duke's (in the former Woody's Pizza building) is now closed on Monday and while turning around through Arnold's Park, I noticed Bob's on the water right next to the Fillenwarth Beach Resort. Bob's is casual and inexpensive. There's a limited menu selection of Hot Dogs, Sloppy Joes (called the Varsity), Chicken Tenders, Fries, Onion Rings, and the like. You order at the counter and they will bring the food out to you. My Son and I decided to sit on the deck and enjoyed a wonderful view of the Lake (and a Regatta in progress) on this gorgeous "not too hot or humid" day. The food itself is probably 3 stars, but for where you are, and why I'm here, this total experience makes me a fan.

We went there and waited outside the window for 5 minutes because the OPEN sign was on. We went around to the door thinking maybe you order inside. The cook said you order at the window. We stood there an additional 2 minutes with no one coming to take our order. I opened the door as we left and said we'll go elsewhere and never be back. We went across the street to The Hutt.

I'm not trying anything else on the menu, it's been great! The burger is cooked great every time. I love the combination of toppings. It tastes awesome and its now the staple for me when visiting Okoboji! The fries are cheap and nothing special. Reminds me of McDonald's with less salt. I like the vibe. Sometimes the music is really loud and it's hard to have conversations. There is an okay amount of seating. There isn't a ton of back support, so they want you to eat then leave.

Plastic chairs, low back high top chairs and concrete floor. Photos line the wall, mostly of kids and scribble crayon on the back wall It is a walk up where you order your food and then they bring it to the table. The guy taking my order was curt. Asked him if they fry their items in beef tallow. He said no. Then I told him I had a question about the turkey burger. He was gruff and said what do you wanna know. Then I asked him if he had to pick between two sandwiches, which would he pick? He shrugged his shoulders. Perhaps he should not be working the front of the house with his lack of personality. My husband's burger was plain but good. My turkey burger was very dry. The onion jam was absolutely delicious and so was the bun that it was served on. We ordered a side of tater tots. They have a bit of kick and spice to them. However, they were soft. I prefer my tater tots to be cooked to a crunch. Not wet and limp. You can order soda, but it is sold by the can. There are no fountain drinks. There is no table service. In fact, I have not seen one employee walk since we have been here. I would give thus place a 3.8 for food. I would give them one star for service. No, I would never come back
