Waiting over two weeks for a simple bumper repair quote is ridiculous. Despite making numerous calls to follow up, I was repeatedly left chasing for answers and received no meaningful communication. An estimate is one of the most basic parts of the process, yet this company couldn't manage to provide one in a reasonable timeframe. After wasting enough of my time, I finally told them not to bother with the quote at all. The lack of urgency, poor customer service, and complete failure to communicate made it clear that this is not a business I would trust with any repair work. I got an estimate today on a scrape on my bumper. No filler or body was needed just a partial spray. Before I went there I had gotten an estimate from an independent shop for $250....this place the clerk came out and they took pictures and no tech actually came out to look at it. I told them I had a $1000 deductible so did t want to claim it under insurance. They told me they it would be $1825 since they would have to take the bumper off and light tail lights off and then have somebody recalibrate the sensors and paint was very expensive. The paint and hour times were ridiculous. I owned a mechanic shop but not a paint and body shop but know when I am taken. $380 in paint and 25 hours of labor? I was involved in a hit and run accident and I have brought my car to this Gerber on Mill Road in Rockford Illinois, I have a 2018 RAV4 Hybrid Limited, This was on March 9th 2023 when someone hit and run me, and I brought my car to you guys, first of all you claimed it took TWO WEEKS to even get the car into the shop... it is now May 10th 2023 and they are not done with it, and 2nd of all I have a friend who went to a different place that was not Gerber he has a BRAND NEW F-150 pickup truck meaning that something that is harder to get parts for because it's brand new and it got fixed within one month!!!!!!!! This is getting to be absolutely ridiculous it is taking forever they are claiming every single time I call that they are on the last step, and they have to call someone Toyota certified to have it calibrated before they give it back to me, I will never use Gerber ever again in my life and they keep saying that my car is guaranteed for as long as you have it for things like chipping paint etc... that does no good for me because I usually get rid of cars within a year or two, I will never use you guys ever again they also don't ever answer the phone just about and when they do it's always some kind of excuse about why the car isn't done yet and that they can't call the people coming to get a exact estimated time when they will be coming bs... they can call and ask they're just lazy I guess, when I was first told that they were coming they said it takes 24 hours generally for them to come this was last Thursday when they said they called them it like 10:00am in the morning... And on Friday they didn't come it is now Thursday night so I don't know if they will be there today but this is a lot more than 24 hours that is 96 hours yesterday and now 120 if not done today... bla bla bla more excuses about not getting it done... I got steered from my insurance company telling me to come here because it would be faster... no they just did that because they knew they could finagle the prices and now I know that you can go anywhere that you want so next time I will actually go to Toyota because they'll have the people to calibrate it and they'll probably get it in and out faster than you guys!!!!! Never EVER EVER AGAIN!!!!!! I am telling everyone of my friends as well about to not use you guys... good luck running your business this way... We took our car in to have the back rubber bumper guard looked at for an estimate to repair, it was split....no body damage. They fixed it right away in the parking lot, at no charge. We have used them before for accident damage and they have done excellent work. read more

I had an estimate through our insurance company at this location. I scheduled an appointment with the receptionist for about a week out to have the repairs completed. I dropped the truck off at the after hours drop and called in the morning. No one answered the phone until their national call center picked up. They could not tell me anything, simply referred me back to the local shop (which I called but was transferred away from my intended location). When I finally got in touch with them they told me they knew nothing about my vehicle and couldn't give me any information about it, despite setting up the appointment almost a week prior. I was told "Ryan" took the order (that has no information in it) and that he wouldn't be back for a week??? These guys didn't bother to get the right info over the phone, verify or prepare for anything, and knew nothing about me or my vehicle. All this after I had to get a friend to drive an hour for us to drop it off there. I chose to take my business elsewhere and again arranged my friend to pick up the truck with me and take it to another more trusted provider. So much for listening to our insurance referral to their "preferred vendor"... this is another word for "cheap as hell and doesn't give a care to even know who you are when you show up to have the work completed"...good luck running your business that way. read more

Never again. The work was shoddy. No status updates. I had to take it back several times. A couple of times I took it in and it was worse when I got it back. They promised to pay for a rental vehicle and several months later I am getting calls from the rental company and it's still not paid for. My car should have been totaled but when the original estimate was done it was not done thoroughly. I would NOT recommend them to anyone ever. read more

Terrible. No communication on the front end. Took hours to even get started and the technician didn't even know if he had the right glass. Took way longer than they told me, made me come back several times before the repair was finished because of lack of responsibility from their front office, worst customer service I've ever experienced. Gerber is not a very timely business. Customer service is not a concern of theirs. Waited 6 hours for a window replacement at home and was told by the tech that he had called this morning check your messages. Needless to say I was not a very happy camper. I waited not only on the tech for 6 hours who ended up bringing the wrong window I also waited for 3 phone calls not including the technicians that never happened. I will definately take my vehicle to a locally owned autobody/auto glass repair shop from now on. I will not listen to my insurance company recommendations again. read more
