He later came back and said a code came up, and they could not proceed with the replacement, and that I would need to contact my dealership first. When I asked what exactly I needed to tell the dealership, he said he couldn't remember off the top of his head but would send me the information. Four hours later, I still never received anything. When I went back out to my car, I noticed a second large crack, separate from the original one, on the driver's side of my windshield, which was not there when I arrived and walked into the building. I went back inside to inform the receptionist. While I understand that cold temperatures can contribute to cracks, this was not there when I got out of my car, and I was not informed about it at any point while the technician had my vehicle. While the windshield was already cracked and needed replacing anyway, it was extremely frustrating that this new crack was never mentioned to me. The receptionist told me I would be "fine to drive," but again could not explain what I needed to have done at the dealership and said it would be sent to me (which never happened). I then called my dealership myself, and they had no idea what Safelite was referring to. They told me codes are typically addressed after replacement and calibration, not before. Overall, this was a very poor experience with a lack of communication, unclear explanations, and an additional crack that was not acknowledged. I will be going to a different company for my windshield replacement.

However, my new car got dinged days after getting it and they were able to buff it out pretty easily. I was able to find the spot the work was done, but it took me a minute. I would be shocked if anyone who was unaware could even find the spot. While I was there, I also had my front two windows tinted while I waited and they did a good job. However, when I got the vehicle home I noticed that there was a decent bubble in the front driver side window. I contacted them the next day and they said to bring it back so it could be redone. At no point did I feel like they tried to push off the responsibility or try to get away from standing by their work. They fixed it no questions asked. I have no reason to believe that they wont also honor the lifetime warranty that they offer on their window tinting.

They installed my windows IN, but something was wrong because my window, when driving over 65mph, would vibrate. It vibrated for over 1 year and still makes noise. Terrible. Scheduling the appointment was easy, though they weren't able to come out to my work since I work in the city on the South side and they were unsure of the safety of replacing the shield in my job's parking lot or a side street with other cars passing by. I ended up having them come to my house to do the repair on a day I knew I'd be home. They called ahead, an hour before to let me know they were on their way so I wasn't waiting around all day. 2 men show up and get right to business- they were funny and gentlemen. I offered them some drinks and and food and they accepted the soda and water but declined any snacks... he said not to worry, they ate last week (I let out a laugh). I unlocked the car doors for them and went back inside and 20 minutes later I had a new windshield. It was seamless and Leiva guys were in and out in a jiff. How does Monday work for you?" I recommend using a service that values your time.
