For several weeks, I've been seeing posts on Facebook and waiting in anticipation for Germano's to finally open. I stopped by today after dinner with my family and was so glad I did! I read somewhere that the building has been vacant for almost 50 years, so it's nice to see a new business opening up in town. The store is pretty spacious with a modern interior and an elevated seating area towards the entrance. Even though there was a bit of a line, it moved pretty quickly. There were so many gelato flavors to choose from, and there were even popsicles, gelato Oreo sandwiches, and a gelato cake inside the case. I ordered a small cup with 2 flavors - Belgium Dark Chocolate and Cookies and Cream. Both flavors were super creamy, rich, and delicious. I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed the Cookies and Cream. I believe the man working the register was an owner and he had an Italian accent so you know it's authentic! We arrived at nearly 9pm on Sunday (closing time) and there was still a long line. Service, at that hour was very friendly. Lime mint gelato was great and we mixed it with chocolate sorbet.
