The ice cream here is amazing but I ordered a reese's PB milkshake and it was literally half a gallon of milk and 1 scoop of ice cream. Literally tasted like peanut butter milk and the cup fell apart. The consistency was all liquid. No disrespect but definitely not worth the $9. read more

Update: After arguing with Randy on Facebook, he finally agreed to refund me. Since my boyfriend had paid for the ice cream, he went back in to get the refund. Instead of honoring his word, Randy refused, screamed at him, and even slammed his hands on the table. His own son had to push him in the back to stop him from escalating further. Randy then claimed that since I made the complaint, I was the one who had to come in. So I did. What followed was a full-blown screaming match. Once again, his son had to physically push him to the back because he was completely out of control. I'm sure Randy felt real tough getting in a woman's face and shouting "don't come back." This man is an absolute weirdo. Original post: Randy just lost my business for good. I've been to this shop several times and always get the same flavor, so I know exactly what it is supposed to taste and feel like. Ice cream should be creamy and smooth. Texture is just as important as flavor. This time it was filled with grainy, crunchy ice crystals that completely ruined it. Eating ice cream that crunches in your mouth is disgusting, and the close-up photo I attached shows exactly what I am talking about. I was so disappointed that my boyfriend, who is literally the nicest, most reasonable person, went in to try to make it right for me. And instead of showing any customer care, Randy himself told him, "there's no ice crystals in it, it's the brownies." Maybe his vision is not so good anymore since he is older, but the problem was right there and impossible to miss. No apology, no refund, just an offer to swap it out for something else as if that fixes the issue. It came across as dismissive and honestly insulting, like he was trying to gaslight us instead of taking responsibility. This was such an easy situation to handle. A refund would have shown good faith and kept us coming back. Instead, Randy doubled down, and now he has lost loyal customers who used to actually enjoy this place. Very disappointing, and sadly, I cannot recommend it anymore. read more

Very cute homey vibes once you walk inside. It's a small shoppe with fantastic homemade flavors. Their waffle cones are an absolute must, added bonus is they give you the cover at the bottom to prevent any mess while you're eating! The service was patient as we were overwhelmed by the amount of flavors they had. I personally never get cones I enjoy the cup option. I got their purple cow which is a black raspberry with white chocolate chips and strawberry swirl which is a new favorite of mine now. My boyfriend got rum raisin and butter pecan in a chocolate dipped waffle cone and it was the perfect amount of sweet. Parking is available outside on the street and is either super easy or hard to find. They have benches out front for you to sit and enjoy your ice cream. read more

I enjoyed going to the ice cream place. It was very good quality ice cream. It tasted amazing. He also gave me this little plastic cone thing and it like it worked so well like if it drips it won't drip onto my hand creating a sticky mess, which is like really good so yeah, I rate this five stars. Cozy little ice cream shop I have passed by dozens of times! Person at the front counter was very inviting and friendly. I asked for recommendations and he listed off their recent popular flavors. Once I heard 'coffee' I had to go with it. Rich flavor, chocolate shavings (as opposed to chips) gave a nice crunchy texture to go with the smooth ice cream. I was asked if adding an animal cracker would be alright and said if I didn't not like the flavor I could certainly ask for something else instead. Caught me off guard since the person in front of me ordered a shake and got it. He then went on about why McDonald's always says their shake machine is down. It was supposed to be a nice treat for myself but after the comments I told him I don't want it. He replied "I can still make it." Cute little ice cream shop! Usually has lines in the summer but that also means it's good! Despite being busy, they don't rush you if you want to try a flavor and provide good service. I usually only ever order mint chocolate chip (since it's my favorite) and its very good and creamy. It still can't compete with my top ice cream parlor but a good second option. This is my absolute favorite ice cream place! 100% homemade, small batch ice cream that never disappoints. Randy's offers unique flavors that change seasonally. My favorites include Blueberry Lavender, Pear with Honey Drizzle, and Midnight Dark Chocolate. I also love Harvest Apple which is offered during the fall months. They also offer Vegan flavors and cones now. Sadly they close during the winter months but I will be back the first day that they reopen for the season! read more

Let me tell you something. My wife is a decorated 9-year ice cream scooper veteran from a local ice cream shoppe, so you know she knows what the good stuff is. She enjoyed the ice cream. Enough said. The midnight velvet deep chocolate and pistachio will make your palate say, "Where have you been all my life?" The available sizes are small, medium and large (1, 2 and 3 scoops, respectively). The ice cream is amazing! I got the cotton candy which was a limited flavor & it was one of the best cotton candy ice cream's I have had. The fly tape hanging when you walk in was totally a turn off. Also, be advised, they add an animal cracker to each ice cream before serving it to you. Nice touch, but with having a gluten allergy, I would have had to have a new cup made. There should be a sign or you should be asked if you want the animal cracker. read more

So glad to have this place in town! I believe that they just opened yesterday or the day before. The place is very small inside but with just enough room to order your ice cream and view the flavors. I ordered a Banana Cream Pie ice cream (small) which came out to be $5. It came prepared very cutely with an animal cracker on top. It was absolutely delicious! You could really taste that it was home made. I loved that they included graham cracker crumbs for the "pie" effect. I wish I could have tried more flavors but due to the hurricane, the power/internet running the credit card machine was down and I only had $5 cash. The owner was saying that 1 flavor comes with a Small, 2 flavors with a Medium and 3 with a Large. I definitely will be back to try some of the other flavors (maybe even tonight!!) It is so awesome to have a home made ice cream place right in town. It is pretty rare to find these, so definitely check this place out. read more

Really enjoyable experience. I got the amaretto toffee and the M&ms blast (or something to that effect). I asked the girl behind the counter about the M&ms flavor, and she said that it was vanilla ice cream mixed with M&ms which sounded just whatever to me. The gentleman by the cash register, who I assume to be randy, said "let me expand on that since I made it. I take the M&ms and macerate them and blend that with the ice cream and then add more M&ms, and you really get that flavor in every bite. " he was absolutely correct. It was more than just vanilla mixed with M&ms, that flavor was mixed through out the ice cream and was really good. The amaretto toffee was almond extract personified with a great compliment of the toffee. Really very almondy. Loved it. My wife got the vegan chocolate Oreo. She said it was very very chocolatey, with nice soft Oreo pieces mixed in. They also had fun color changing spoons!! read more

Visited this place many times. However, most recent and last time visit was unsettling. My wife and I decided to take our dog for a walk and decided to get a scoop on a hot day. My wife went in to get the ice cream while I waited outside with my pup. My wife asked for 2 tasting since they have lot of flavors and would like to ensure what we get we would enjoy. After asking for the second tasting the older gentleman who is the owner "Randy" asked my wife "when you go to McDonald's do you ask to taste their French fries"? I was taken back when my wife told me this. It was not only a very rude comment to make but very odd. My wife and I live in town and always understood to support local business. However, after this experience we will never go back. Even his staff was ashamed of the comment he made. I'm giving 2 stars due to the first 2 visits were great due to the friendly staff. Today was my first time visiting this homemade ice cream shoppe in the center of town in Pompton Lakes. I've been wanting to try it for awhile & so glad I finally did. Myself, husband, and son all ordered a different flavor and each one was delicious (we all tried one another's flavors)!! They have so many unique flavors (like lemon poppieseed which I ordered) & i can tell you from the ones we had they are made really well with fresh ingredients. They scoop a nice size portion in your cup too, which is always a plus. We'll definitely be going back and trying many more flavors. Highly recommend this place to all the ice cream lovers out there. Tried this place last night and it was AMAZING! The flavors we got were honey lavender, mint chocolate chip, and cookies and cream, all were to die for!!
