Throughout the years, I agree with a few of the reviewers in that administratively, Family Healthcare has gone down. Previously, I did not feel as rushed and interactions seemed more personable. I can only assume that maybe they have more patients now and may need better front desk hospitality. I kind of feel many doctors offices in the area are becoming this way. There is a general feeling of over busyness leading to administrative inattentiveness and longer wait times. I also think this happens at offices where providers are highly sought. So why the 5-star rating? My rating is based on the individual provider. I would rate Dr. Rita Sharma a solid 5 stars. I wish she still saw patients at the Olney office which I feel was more organized. She is always willing to pass on the knowledge she has and is personable. She is also very familiar with other specialist in the area and can direct to you one who has the experience needed for any medical issue you have.

During each visit, I have tried to give the front desk staff the benefit of the doubt, recognizing that they may have had difficult interactions earlier in the day or may simply be having a challenging day. However, my repeated experience has been that the front desk staff could demonstrate more professionalism and courtesy. They do not consistently greet patients when they enter, and the question, "Are you here for an appointment?" is often delivered in a flat and unfriendly tone. As a result, I have felt unwelcome and uncomfortable, as though I should not be there. Simple courtesies such as saying "hi", "good morning," "please," and "thank you" would also make visiting the doctor's office a better experience. I believe additional training in professionalism, customer service, and common courtesy would help improve the patient experience.

It seems they forgot to write about the front desk, so this review aims to fill that gap. You have got to love the front desk. If you replaced them with a couple of fast-moving snow monkeys, the patients would probably be happier. The monkeys would not be able to solve any problems either, so at least there would be no loss of service, and there would be some entertainment while you guys make us wait 45 minutes or so. To be fair to the snow monkeys, unlike you guys at the front desk, after a few weeks of training, they might actually start solving some of the problems. My lil' friends, I am not sure if you are doing this as charity work, but I assume they actually pay you a salary. We are not asking for miracles here. Nobody expects you to perform surgery at the front desk. Answer the phone, pay attention to the patient, and occasionally solve a basic administrative problem. We can start there. If avoiding work and being incompetent were Olympic events, I am fairly confident this front desk would bring home a medal.

The doctor recommended a flu and covid test. I asked if it was free and he said yes. Ended up receiving a bill for over $100 for the covid test. After disputing it with the office and billing, I was told there was nothing they could do. The doctor even said he didn't say it was free. I felt let down. Someone who is supposed to be in charge of my health lying. The office could have easily taken care of this. Instead, I am left with a lack of trust in my provider.

I was very frustrated that I spent a lot of time researching and selecting a new primary care doctor only to find out that my time was wasted because they don't bother to update their information regarding accepting new patients. I was able to schedule an appointment with another doctor in the practice but was still not able to get in until early November. Beware that their web site is not up to date so don't waste your time if you need a new doctor. Or, make sure you call first. I was disappointed that I couldn't get in with Dr. Jain since she seems like a very good doctor based on her reviews, but I'll be looking elsewhere based on my experience.

We were there for a difficult situation and everyone involved absolutely made sure the process was as comfortable as it can be. They listened to our concerns. Explained everything in detail. Gave us room to make decisions. They didn't pressure or rush us. It was truly a collaborative effort and breath of fresh air. No arrogance, no condescension, no belittling, no interruptions. Amazing bad side manner. Even the staff went above and beyond. As a person with complicated health problems who has had traumatic experiences with arrogant doctors, I can say I was pleasantly surprised with our experience. I just took my son to Patriot Urgent Care in Germantown for a cut he got on his forehead. The…read moredoctor was trying to squeeze out the glue and an entire drop went into his eye. He wasn't squirming, I was right there and watched the entire thing. I had to hold him down while the doctor frantically grabbed gauze and saline and tried to pry his eye open and get the glue out. His eye is still partially shut in the outer corner and he's been crying and rubbing his eye ever since. She sent me home with gauze and a bottle of saline with instructions to "clean it" the next few days. I continued to bring up the fact that he was uncomfortable and there was still visible glue on his eye.
