I recognized my son's dream car by the enormous spoiler on the back. I took it for a test drive. I sat with Alex to discuss the price. Today, my son and I test drove the car. We sat with Alex to discuss the price and the warranty (3-months, which isn't much, but it's 3-months longer than any other warranty we were offered). We came to an agreement. I gave Alex the keys to my beloved minivan (which is now for sale, by the way), a lump sum on my credit card, and drove away in a sporty sedan. It wasn't just that we found the right car at the right price today. We found the right salesperson. Alex is supporting the local community as well as his own family. He negotiates directly and clearly. He speaks respectfully to middle-aged women and teenage kids. No gimmicks. No pressure. No confusing equations. Tell him what you need, and he'll tell you what he needs. If it works, it works. If it doesn't, no pressure. I enjoyed doing business with him.

The most frustrating and unprofessional experience I've ever had with a financial institution. We…read morebegan the process of applying for a HELOC with Patelco in March, and from the start, it was an absolute mess. I was forced to repeatedly chase down responses--constantly emailing and calling just to get basic updates and move the process forward. Emails would go completely ignored, and it would take multiple phone calls over several days to get any answers. We opted to pay for a BPO appraisal hoping it would increase the home value estimate. It actually came back lower, which dropped the loan amount--fine. But again, I had to initiate contact to even find that out. No communication. I was then told we had 10 days to accept the new amount. I clearly and directly confirmed over the phone with the loan agent that we were okay with the new loan amount and wanted to proceed. So imagine my shock when I received a notification 10 days later that our loan was denied because we supposedly never confirmed the new amount. I immediately contacted both the underwriter and the loan agent--no response. That was over 5 weeks ago. I've followed up since, and still, no one has had the decency or professionalism to respond. At this point, I wouldn't trust Patelco with a single cent of my money. They've shown a complete lack of competence, accountability, and respect for their clients' time. Not only have they lost my business for this HELOC, but they've lost me as a customer for life. What a truly unacceptable and disappointing experience.

I do want to make…read morenote though that I typically do not need to travel to a branch, as I do everything through the app. Today I needed to walk in to submit my pink slip after a refinance to Navy Federal. The woman with glasses at the front signing people in was very unfriendly, I could already tell it was busy post-holiday but she was not very welcoming. The waiting area was full, and over the course of an hour they continued to call people out of turn. I understand there are different tellers/associates who focus on different services/troubleshooting but me and two other groups who were there before me sat for a total of 1 hour and 15 minutes before being helped after numerous groups who came in after were already helped. When I was finally called, the associate had me at her desk for less than 30 seconds then sent me on my way. I feel as though they could handle working through the sign-in list a lot more efficiently as well as general guest service guidelines.
