Only the bus drivers and mechanics do their jobs. Everyone in Human Resources are completely incompetent. And they have the nerve to blame "upper management." The hiring process was excruciating. From the stumbling and stammering ALDO MARTINEZ, to the constantly-on-vacation DIANA (she will find the time to call you without leaving a voicemail. I am quite certain she will call you and let the phone ring once and hang up. No voicemails. No callbacks. Lazy.) I was called in to sign papers with the "approximate" start date, according to Aldo. Turns out, it was a lie and that start date interfered with my schedule. My official start date was rescheduled twice before they probably tossed out my application...which was 100% their fault. What kind of process was this? I already submitted a urine sample and I also took my occupational physical. Awful staff! It took three months to find out they still weren't sure when I could start. I called to complain and I was given an uninterested, "you were not guaranteed a job." I heard a new person is in charge. They need to fire the hiring manager and everyone in those nasty trailers... I mean, their offices. They need better employees. They need employees who can do their jobs and not just blame everything on management. Nobody fucking works at this god awful service. For the last four weeks I haven't been able to get an on-demand ride. Me and my mom are chronically disabled and actually need the service. I've had to file a complaint already. They tell you to call back in ten minutes then you call back in ten minutes they tell you sorry, some people have been stranded waiting for a bus home for two hours. Ever since they expanded on demand coverage city-wide, this service has become an absolute joke and nobody can actually get a bus home anymore. Good luck if you can get where you're going on time. They always say "sorry we just don't have any drivers." Explain to me if I've seen at least ten-fifteen different drivers on a day to day basis how they are "totally booked" and "don't have enough drivers. It's laziness and incompetence. Honestly, this on-going issue has been going for well over a month now and I'm upset as I used to be a supporter of this new service. Now it's just as terrible as the regular bus, but more expensive. read more

Bus drivers are doing poorly at their job. For instance, when I have to catch the bus 45 @1:14pm heading to downtown from Niles and Fairfax to catch the bus 21 on Mt Vernon and Niles to go to Bakersfield College, their fucking 20mins damn late. Then again with bus 45 today, I got to the bus stop @1:20pm and the bus doesn't get there until 1:45pm, apparently the bus driver thought it was okay to pass me and not stop to pick me up. That is NOT okay!!!! Same goes for bus 41 and bus 61. Buses are late, don't stop, and doesn't stay on schedule. The passengers who get on the bus, except on time schedule, not being late and except the drivers to stop at the bus stop. I planned to get to my bus stop 10 mins early today to make sure I didn't miss the bus. As early as I am, I see the bus and start running (seeing as the next bus won't show up for another hour). I have been riding the GET bus for 5 years and have recently discovered a disturbing trend of not just Black Militance, but also within the Administration as well. I have had ON DEMAND Drivers STALK me, sit and watch me, sit right near me without having a call for pick up and try to coerce me into using them for transportation. I finally broke down and tried the Microbuses and found the System had been hijacked by a Rogue Employee, and buses were dispatched to erroneous locations away from where the request was made. Some disabled passengers are crammed in crowded mini buses because a separate fleet is out using coercion tactics to extort customers into taking them instead of the GET bus. I was complaining about this relentless staging they do...and as I was leaving, a woman driver parks right beside the GET bus stop outside on the street curb to coerce me into going with her instead of the bus. Our DISABILITY MONTHLY TICKETS HAVE RISEN DRAMATICALLY TO COMPENSATE FOR THE LOSSES OF EXTRA GAS USED FOR THEIR HUNTS FOR PAYING CUSTOMERS. The GETBUS is a great way to get around town, the drivers are nice and friendly! Sure there are times when the bus runs late, but it's usually because of road construction and detours. I've been on the bus that was late due to some man not having enough money and was holding up the bus. Other than that the trip was good. read more

Please fix bus 84 routes! I get off at 4pm from work, and I'm tired of waiting 45 minutes to an hour for the bus to pass. I have a medical condition & would love to not have to walk 1+ miles to catch it somewhere else. Sometimes the weather isnt favorable either, & being left stranded several times in Rosedale isnt very fun. I've also seen 84 bus driver get impatient with a lady trying to find her bus pass at the bus stop on Hageman. She was about to get on, but the driver yells, "I gave you a warning, should've been faster!", slams the doors on the woman & accelerates off. I was coming in the bus with a coffee on my hand. The driver told me I was not allowed to take the coffee inside. I explained he was the first person he ever asked me too witch he sarcastically answer back "and I will be the first person to make you do it" I felt disrespected by his answer and the way he said it. The system isn't up to date. And when you phone in to get information the people are rude and unhelpful. People rely on this transportation to get to work and or school etc. If there understaffed or in hardship why not state this so people can find other modes of transportation. read more

The bus system is a joke...what's the point in having a time table if it isn't followed...I had a driver miss my stop because they were passing a car in the left lane...with no other option to wait an hour for the next one...I've road many transit systems in many different cities and this is by far the worst...but what can I do...there aren't many other options...its ridiculous that they dont give out transfers (they force you to get a day pass) and no change (other transits offer a change card just like the ones they use here)...I cannot wait to leave Bakersfield because of this...get up with the times GET Bus Org... read more

I swear Bakersfield has the worst bus system. I should have been at work thirty minutes ago. I would have been there 30-40 mins early. However, bus 42 heading to valley plaza was extremely late. It should have left Walmart on Panama at 2:56. I caught it on the other side of the street because it was going to be the same bus coming back from Walmart. It didn't get to Walmart until sometime after 3:30. Finally we pull up to to the southwest transit station at 3:50 something. The 22CSUB was supposed to leave at 3:57. Did we? Nope. Y'all need to instruct your driver's to be early when they are switching. This driver took her sweet time talking to people and moving slow. We didn't pull off til 4:05. I have to be at work at 4:30. Just because your driver's are cool being late does not not mean the passengers want to be late too. I should have been at work a long time ago. There is no way I'm going to be on time.
