He assured us that he "had us down" and our date was set. A couple of months later (still 4 months out from our party date) he called to let us know he had given our date away because "he had not heard from us." After we reminded him that it was he who insisted on not having an agreement/deposit, he kept our date but then our prices started being a lot higher than we originally discussed. He continually forgot several things we had agreed on and would say "I did not have that in my notes." He insisted he would need to charge us for a helper during the event, but when I pressed him on what specific items he would need help doing during the party, he could not give me one. Months before our party we agreed that we would rent the tent, use the barn, as well as the bottom two rooms of the Castle. During our event, one of our guests went to use to restroom below the Castle and was treated rather rudely. The owner insisted that he had not agreed to allow us to use the bottom two rooms. Every step of the process of planning our party was made difficult by this man. The property is beautiful, but do yourself a favor and have your party elsewhere. You will be saving yourself the grief of dealing with this man.

On September 19, Mrs. Bowers forwarded her contract for services, and it was signed and returned to her. Payments for service to be provided were made as agreed upon and on schedule. We held up our part of the contract. However, Whisk Catering did not live up to their contractual agreements. Whisk Catering canceled on August 6, 2019 via text message. We were very disappointed that Mrs. Bowers canceled on such short notice without any offer for backup or suggestions for other caterers. However, we were even more upset to learn she filed for Chapter 13 Bankruptcy on May 20, 2019 and yet she continued to collect payments for services she never intended to provide. Although the contract clearly stated "If Whisk Catering & Consulting cancels for any reason all payments made will be refunded within 30 days of cancellation." no refunds were made by September 2019, nor have any refunds been provided to date. We are greatly disappointed and angered at the manner in which Mrs. Bowers conducted her business. I highly encourage you to look elsewhere for a catering service, and if you do hire Mrs. Amanda Bowers and Whisk Catering and Consulting, be sure you have a back up plan - you'll need it.

They took my list of interests and matched it perfectly throughout the entire event. It was so great not to have to worry about someone hitting the play button at the right time on a stereo. They also stayed to DJ my "after party". Which I have to say was THE BEST! The lights and music had everyone dancing and entertained the whole night! We actually only hired them for 3 hours of service, but everything was going so well that we were more than happy to tip them to hang out a little longer! Money well spent!
