I am the Purple Heart veteran with the service dog that was refused service from Ben S's review. Yes, I'm aware that this is illegal and I can report him. That said, most of us dog handlers prefer to educate people rather than cause them legal trouble and this was what I attempted to do. When I tried to do this quietly and privately, he loudly told me that he was not interested. I left without pushing back or causing a scene - the last thing I wanted to do was make it more difficult for other dog teams. I did leave a business card describing ADA laws pertaining to service dogs on the table in a last attempt to make it a bit easier on the next dog handler who walks in the door. When we walked out and saw the tribute to veteran's on the sidewalk in front of the business, it really added insult to injury. I certainly didn't feel the love so I hope they do right by other veterans; maybe they only want the ones who aren't disabled to visit...
