If you've never had a sip of A&W root beer in one of their frosty mugs, I definitely recommend it. It's frothy, carbonated, and sweet. So much better than your normal canned root beer. It was 8PM when we arrived. The store posted that they close at 9PM. There was a family of 5 in the restaurant. Two cars in the drive through. Us and a man behind us. So for 3 to 4 employees, I definitely understand how frustrating it must be. A shout-out to them. We were heading back home from a trip up North and we really appreciate how patient they were with us. It took less than 10-minutes to get our meals to go. We grabbed our own napkins because they didn't provide any in the bag. Our burgers were packed nicely. The buns were soft, patties were juicy, and condiments were all in. Our onion rings were super soggy and fell apart. Thank goodness we grabbed the napkins because oil went down our hands after each bite. The root beer was the best part of our meal. Their restaurant was fairly clean and so was the bathroom. Their dining room was dimmed. So much that we couldn't tell if they were open, looking in from the highway. This week, it was the Amnicon Bar s on the Corner of Tri Lake Road and County A out by Pattison Park. About 10 miles South of Superior, Wisconsin, on Amnicon Lake. There are a number of lakes in the immediate area, Amnicon is reputed to be a hot bed for crappie, perch and muskie fishing. According to the DNR website, the muskies range from 30-50". But fish wasn't on the Posse's menu, they enjoyed the burgers and coney island style hot dogs. The coneys were Hormel natural casings, and were reported to be excellent. The Amnicon burger came topped with ham and cheese and a side of curly fries.
