If I could give them zero Stars I honestly would they saw me coming a mile away they sold me a car a 2020 Kia Sportage that it took me more than 30 days to find insurance for after State farm dropped me after 13 years they would not cover me because I own a 2020 Kia Sportage. I think they were trying to get rid of this car knowing full well that insurance was either going to be difficult to find or very very expensive. The other thing is if you need service on your car good luck you never get a person on the phone always goes to voicemail nobody ever calls you back I've had the same problem twice with my car now I go to start it and it won't turn over won't do anything I have to turn the key extremely hard to get the car to start the first time they said it was the battery and it was just outside of the warranty and that I would have to buy a new battery I told him no thanks I'll take my chances then all of a sudden they change their tune and gave me a new battery saying this would solve the problem it didn't this car is unreliable nobody ever calls me back to set an appointment and talk to me about my issues yes I did leave a nasty voicemail because I got tired of being blown off if you can go to any other dealership go do not take your car here they don't care about you once they sell you a car they're done with you. Now I'm stuck with the car that has nothing but issues with starting. And a dealership who doesn't give a crap about their customers they only care about their bottom line and making money only if you do get an appointment I guarantee it's going to be at least a month out read more

I went to the Service Dept on Jan 15th for a low pressure warning on my van. I was told they could not find any leak and just aired up the low tire. Went back again on Jan 21st for the same issue. I was told that the 10lb air pressure difference was caused by the drastic tempersture change. Today i went to Sunset Kia in Sarasota. In minutes of getting my van off the ground the puncture was found. Are your service techs totally ignorant? Worst dealetship service center ive ever experienced. Too bad I cant give zero stars. I also chatted with sales rep about the slight possibility of purchasing a vehicle. After thanking them for their time i told them i wasnt going to purchase at this time. He was condescending and smug and made me feel insignificant. He refused to listen to anything I had to say, and therefore my car was not repaired as I wanted it. Time wasting, discourteous managers. We visited this morning, but had to rush to collect our kids from school. I called shortly after our visit to say we definitely wanted the car we looked at, and the manager (Brandon) told me to come in immediately so we could work on finalizing the deal. I text the sales guy we were working with (Steve - a really nice guy) to say I was on my way, and that I had taken both the kids' car seats, and all our stuff, out of our car so it was ready to trade. When I arrived after a forty minute drive, Steve said other people were looking at the car but he directed me to sit in it and talked me through all the great features. When we went into the showroom, Steve worked on the details of the trade for about 20 minutes. Then he very apologetically told me his other manager (Patrick Bernard) had sold the car to the people who were viewing it when I arrived. The first manager (Brandon) had gone home. Even though he asked me to drive in to finalize the details of the sale, and greeted me when I arrived. I'm most frustrated by the waste of almost three hours of my day. It didn't concern me that other people were looking at the car because I was at the dealership after making a verbal agreement that I wanted to purchase the car with Brandon, the manager. It didn't cross my mind that I would not be offered first right of refusal of the car. Car sales numbers for individuals at this location obviously mean a lot more than integrity, courtesy, and quality service. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.. Something very unethical seems to be going on here. I purchased a car in 2021 that I have since paid off. I filled out the proper paperwork and sent it in to recoup the remaing balance on the gap insurance and the extended warranty. That was in February of 2022 and it is now June 30 and have not recieved any communication as to why I have recieved my money. Noone will answer emails, noone will call me back. I send email, I call, I ask for status, nothing. It almost seems like that charged me for something they did not provide and hope I will go away. Began negotiating price with Don (Internet Mgr.) on a lease before another customer showed up and they ended up selling the vehicle to them while I was still negotiating. I previously filled out a credit app to get the process going and told them I agreed to the price while the vehicle was still available. I told the manager to mark the vehicle as "sold" but they gave preference to the person that arrived after I was in negotiations. It took them a long time to reply to me with the final number. My 2018 Hundai Tuscon experienced computer issues, and when I called Gettel Hyundai of Lakewood dealership and explained the issue, they suggested I take the vehicle to Gettel Kia, because it was much closer to my house. I called Gettel Kia, and spoke to Javier and explained the issue. He told me to bring it in and that they would try and squeeze me in. When we arrived, Matt (service manager) met us and told us that Javier had explained the issue to him. Matt personally got a scanner to try and identify the issue, and then spent the time to explain all the issues with the vehicle. This was not something that the Kia dealership could repair, and he advised we have the vehicle towed to the dealership where it was purchased, Gettel Hyundai of Lakewood. He told us if we called Hyundai Roadside Assistance, we would get a better price. He told us to leave the vehicle at his dealership, and he would give the keys to the tow truck driver, so we wouldn't have to wait there for hours. The service and attention that Matt gave us was so appreciated, especially in this day and age. Employees such as Matt (and also Javier) should be recognized for their outstanding customer service. Most places would say "not my problem". When I am ready to purchase my next vehicle, I will seriously consider buying it from Gettel Kia. read more

My only goal in buying a car was to have an honest, clean, no hassle buying process. I visited Gettel Kia on 3 occasions while checking out a specific vehicle. My husband visited on two additional occasions. Bottom line, we were committed to the process with checkbook in hand. What we we found was an outfit of used car salesmen. To be clear, I have a masters degree in finance and I am not unclear on the current supply and demand issue for new cars. When I went in with my husband, they chose to speak specifically with my husband. This was offense number 1 as I would be the one writing the check. Offense number 2: they tried, with tired smoke and mirror tactics to convince me that they needed to charge a $5000 markup over MSRP in order to "feed their families." Please and no thank you. MSRP already includes a markup and although I recognize from an economic perspective that vehicles are in short supply, please do me the courtesy of negotiating cleanly and not attributing your inflated prices to your personal need to eat. Finally, offense number 3. We finally agree on a price for a vehicle and I say I will show up after my last meeting with a check. I am on my way... and they sell it to someone else. They are so desperate for a sale that relationships and people no longer matter. If that is ok with you, then Gettel is your store. If not, just wait. No one needs to buy a car under these circumstances from a shop that literally doesn't give a $#|+ about you. read more

This place should be reported to the business bureau. Unfortunately, I had the worst experience ever buying a car from this dealership. As a result to the entire staff, after purchasing a kia from them, I decided to return the car in the 3 day guarantee period. They proceeded to rudely grab the keys from me as they started to tell me I had to return for the check in 3 days. In my opinion they should have issued the check the same time they took those keys. This should be illegal if it isn't already illegal. Normally I keep my experiences and reviews to myself but as I was receiving a ride from an uber driver after kia took the car back I felt a little better as he told me his girlfriend had the same experience and unfortunately she is stuck in her monthly payment of $800. At the time, I had a kia sportage, which I assumed was an amazing deal until Kristen helped me look at my loan and told me I was paying way too much in interest. She offered to show me the Kia K5 GT line and I fell in love. Kristen was extremely patient with me and she's definitely one of the nicest people at that dealership. she did everything in her power to get me into that car. Brandon in financing was also amazing. I was flat out lied to by Chris. I had to return my leased Kia because the time was up. I called and spoke to Chris. I explained that I wanted to lease another Kia like I have for the past 20 years. I also told him that I know there was a significant amount of equity in the return and I wanted to use that as the down payment. He said sure! Bring it in and we'll look at it and appraise it. I did that the next day but it was close to closing time so he told me to come back within the next week and we'll "make a deal". I went back a few days later and I was told that it was too late. The only way I could've used the equity is the day I brought it in. I had a feeling he was a "salesman" type character but didn't think he was a liar, but he looked me in the eyes and lied to me. I can not lease a car now because I don't have the down payment. 7 leases and 3 purchases for my kids of Kia's over the past 20 years and this is how you're treated at Gettle Kia. Went back and fourth with information online (payments, trade in value, down payment, etc). Drove 50 minutes from Apollo Beach with an appointment to see "Mike." We were told beforehand that there was a "one week special" AND that "they could make things work." After showing up, test driving the vehicle, and being told that we had a deal, we didn't. Ed (who was worthless in the process), came out and demanded an extra $3,000 down. My wife showed him the screenshots of what "Mike" guaranteed online. Her words to Ed, "so you're basically saying he's a liar?" Ed looked at us and actually said, "yes, we outsource customer service online and use them to get people in the door. Every situation is different, we need people here face to face." This part was also interesting, "we don't offer rebates or incentives anymore." Absolute worst experience I have ever had buying a car. And I haven't had that many!! Let me start by saying I've been in 3-4 times within the last two months looking at purchasing a new vehicle. I arrived on Thursday to look again. Salesman had pulled a car for me that fit my criteria and he thought I would like it. And I did, had everything I wanted. I spent three hours with the loan officer going over finances, interest rates, price tag, trade in etc..We finally agreed upon an interest rate and price tag. I was approved via the banks and even had filled out the PRE-APPROVAL form online. Which I was told I had been approved. So after agreeing upon all the numbers and selecting a bank institution I filled out ALL necessary paperwork, we REGISTERED the new vehicle to my existing tag, I received the NEW REGISTRATION sticker, paid a $1000 DEPOSIT and purchased the vehicle!! At ZERO point during our four hours going over everything, did the finance person say the deal wasn't fully complete!!! I left the dealership shaking his hand and under the assumption I just purchased a new vehicle. I drove straight from work, so unfortunately I had my work vehicle with me and couldn't drive my new car home. So I was told to bring the trade-in back the following day with the title and my new car would be waiting on me. Awesome! They even asked for me to call once I was heading into the dealership. Fast forward to today, I got off work early. Drove back home from st Pete. I called the dealership to let them know who I was and that I would arrive around 330-4 to pick up my new vehicle and drop off the trade-in. They said ok, nothing out of the usual. Emptied out the garage kept BMW I own, grabbed the title and headed to the dealership. I arrived and let the door person know who I was and was there to pick up my new car. I waited for about 10 mins, and was finally approached by someone I've never met before. He informed me that Kia themselves have come back and didn't approve the purchase I had just made the nite before. So the car I had literally purchased the nite before, registered in my name, purchased a new insurance plan for, was now not available to me. They had to have known exactly whatever the issue was by 9-10 am and NO ONE thought to call me and keep me in the loop. They wanted to save a sale and talk me into something I didn't want. Some kind of slimy bait and switch. They wasted my time and let me drive to the dealership from 30 mins away In my falling apart BMW that I was to trade-in per the agreement the nite before. Only to tell me that I can't have the car I had literally purchased the nite before. But not to worry, they have a newer car with a lower rate. That's great, accept I want the car that I literally purchased the nite before and have the registration for!! Zero communication not mention the BS that I bought a car and now all of a sudden I didn't. UNBELIEVABLE!! The minute there was an issue, a phone call should have been made to the customer that just gave you a $1000 down payment, had signed all the paperwork and purchased the vehicle. Predatory and unethical dealership... doesn't take full videos of blemishes, chips, scratches until you find out for yourself. The GM Dan is the absolute worst. I'd never recommend this dealership to anyone. Dan, the GM was more interested in looking at my wrist watch then addressing the undisclosed damage to 2016 Lexus RX 350. I asked numerous times with the salesman( Ed C.) to take video of any issues with the vehicle prior to my one-way arrival from St. Pete. I get there and all the wheels have road rash, rear passenger fender has a large scrape and multiple deep scratches on the vehicle that weren't disclosed in the video prior to my arrival. He offered no apology for this day-consuming, misleading advertising, whatsoever. "The best I can do is take $500 off"...yet, the damages would exceed $2,000 if taken to a reputable body shop. Never again will I go back or recommend. Spend your money elsewhere! And, just in case the wonderful GM Dan or who eve decides not to allow this post; I'll be posting my lackluster experience at other review sites where they have no control. You've been warned!
