After chipping my tooth on Thursday evening I contacted the dental office on Friday morning and was able to get an appointment early that very day. Gettysburg Dental Associates was professional and courteous from the time I called the office to the completion of my tooth repair. When you sign up as a new patient at this dental practice, you're asked to sign paperwork that briefly mentions a rescheduling policy -- but no one actually reviews it with you or makes sure you understand it. There is no clear verbal explanation of potential fees. I had to cancel two appointments for legitimate reasons. Both times, I called the morning of the appointment and was told it was "fine." At no point during either call was I informed that I would be charged a fee. When I later rescheduled, I was hit with a $70 "rescheduling fee" -- $35 for each cancellation. This was never mentioned when I called. Transparency matters, and this felt deceptive. To make matters worse, on the day of my most recent appointment, the office cancelled on me. Did I receive a credit? A refund? An apology paired with policy consistency? No. Apparently the fee policy only applies one way. Policies are understandable. Lack of transparency and double standards are not. After this appointment, I will be finding a new dental provider -- one that prioritizes patient communication, fairness, and mutual respect over rigid policies and revenue protection. If you're considering this office, make sure you ask very specific questions about their cancellation policy -- and get everything clarified upfront. read more

I love this dentist office, I have been coming here for a few years and my 8 yr old daughter too. The staff is great, especially the pediatric dentistry upstairs. They gave me numbing gel as they cleaned my teeth which was awesome. The office is super clean and the decor is so warm and inviting. They even have a keurig in the lobby. The billing office is super competent as well. I definitely recommend. read more

These people are complete crooks who will lie to get you in a chair. I called in and was given a price to pull a tooth for my girlfriend and the price I was given was for something else entirely they neglected to tell me! And on top of it, they numbed her mouth, then proceeded to tell her that they were charging us an additional $350, on top of quoted price? They are not at all concerned about the patients or ethics clearly! They are only interested in finding victims and taking advantage of new mothers at Xmas? read more

I took my child here to have a tooth filled. Our family dentist referred us. I would not recommend them. There staff is cold and uncaring. The dentist has a horrible bed side manor . She glossed over the treatment plan in the initial visit. She told us they would need a white filling, and went over the cost. The day of treatment it was found that my child would actually need a silver crown, and it costs 400 dollars more. I was faced with having to leave the office without treating my child or paying an extra 400 dollars without being able to prep my child for a silver tooth. It was an assembly line treatment. I never spoke with the dentist after the treatment plan changed. Not to mention they made me feel like a horrible mother for having a kid with a cavity. Look elsewhere. read more

Gettysburg dental associates are the most caring, professional, and friendly dental practice I have ever been to. I recently had a biopsy there for a lesion in my mouth and they were behind me with encouragement and positivity all the way!!! As a parent with social anxiety issues of my own, My 5 year old & I had a wonderful experience. I was absolutely flabbergasted by Jason's phenomenal Patience & interaction with My Son. My son adored him very much! He was super friendly & extremely thorough & really great with getting my little guy to not be so anxious. He is truly a DREAM! I hope we have Jason next time! There was another dental hygenist there who also had fun making my little guy laugh & feel more comfortable. love her! Dr. Deflippo was also super friendly, amazing & thorough! Kim was so cute! This was my daughters first time to the dentist. She was a little nervous, but that quickly subsided after we arrived and she saw the pediatric office. It's so kid friendly, painted in underwater themes etc. it really helped to ease her mind that it was such a friendly environment. I don't remember the girls name who cleaned her teeth and took care of her, but she was amazing! My daughter is quite the character and quite a talker lol and this girl was incredible, she talked to my daughter the entire time, made her laugh, and made her feel so much better about going to the dentist. The male dentist that saw us after the cleaning was also amazing! He was so kind and gentle explaining everything to my daughter in a way that she could understand. Let's just say my daughter left there excited for her next visit telling everyone how much she loved it there! I would definitely recommend this place if you have children! read more

The hygienist did a very nice job getting my 4 yr old child to do his cleaning and they were almost able to get him to do x rays. However I found the dentist to be impatient and in a hurry. She probably should not be working with very young children. The hygienist was able to get him to do everything she asked the dentist couldn't even put fluoride on his teeth with out asking me to come hold him down. We have also been going to the dentist on a 3 month cycle I am still confused how a cavity that was not noticed 3 months ago now will need to be capped. read more

I would have given a better rating, except for the fact that the set-up of the office is not ideal. The office space appears to be an older house that was converted into offices - the pediatric dentist is upstairs and the dentist for adults is located downstairs. Bad decsion from the get-go to have the pediatric portion of the practice upstairs. It is very clean and decorated nicely and no complaints on the actual service ...however there were "grumpy" ladies that work downstairs. I had late afternoon appts for my two grade school children and also had to bring along my 4 yr old for the visit. Well, after being there for 2 1/2 hours, I was checking out...going over the payment, future appts, etc. While in the midst of the check-out process, my kids were playing with the toy chest in the waiting room, and yes probably running around just doing what kids do when they are tired of waiting, nothing over the top. In the time it took me to check out, an older lady from downstairs came upstairs and yelled at my children for "running around" not once but twice - she said the dentist downstairs can hear everything and it is very annoying for them to hear constant footsteps. Not once, but twice, my children were yelled at. I get the first time, but the second time, they were no longer running around. As if it wasn't bad enough to be at a dentist office with 3 children for 2 1/2 hrs, it made matters worse to be made to feel uncomfortable while I was there. It was awkard and rude to be spoken to in that manner. It made me feel like I didn't want to come back. The office people downstairs seem to have no tolerance for children, which is a recipe for diaster with having a pediatric office upstairs. I only see two solutions: A) in the future hire people that are more tolerant of children and their activity level B) sound proof the ceiling; it is an older house! Hoping they can resolve this issue, or they will lose business...I cant imagine my children were the first ones to ever be yelled at for making too much noise. I usually don't write reviews, but the situation bothered me enough to say something about it :-( read more
