Wow such a great burger and I loved the curly fries, we loved the service and the pies were delicious too

Had a delicious dinner here last week! My pulled pork sandwich was tasty and generously filled and went great with their cole slaw! My husband enjoyed his Mac n cheese burger although it was a little difficult to eat. The wings were yummy too! My favorite place in Keokuk. Love the adaptive reuse of a historic Main Street building. Open, comfy interior. Bar is up front with booths but large dining area is in the back. Your choice. Either way, prompt friendly service. Great bar food with classic midwestern fare. Hot roast sandwich--so impressive with home cooked roast not some pre sliced tasteless beef. Excellent mashed too. What a dish for a snowy day. A colleague went for the house fab bourbon burger and came away with wows. And the wonderful curly fries were devoured by all. By all means save room for homemade pies. Dr. Getwell's used to be a fantastic place to eat. The last 3 times I was there the food was hot and ready in a good amount of time but had NO flavor to it like it hadn't been seasoned at all. Very disappointing and I haven't been back. read more

I would have given this place 3 stars as the was somewhat decent but mediocre at best, but the service was like being at the dentist office, getting teeth pulled. My server has zero personality and didn't understand what gluten free meant. My cider beer bottle came with hair and some-sort of crud, so I asked for a class, but the glass was dirty as well. As I waited for my check, I overheard the other servers complaining about their guests. I get that good help is hard to find, and that servers are struggling right now, but come on!! read more

When you are in a small town, it's hard to find good food that isn't fast food chains. I think we found a great spot here. Old part of town. I like that they had a theme for the restaurant. It is like you're going into a doctors office. Everything was Dr. themes on the menu. Our family went for burgers. My daughter got avocado bacon and she liked it except she wished it was sliced avocados and not guacamole smeared on the bun. The mini said avocado. So we were disappointed with that I got the Philly burger. It was cooked perfect, great cheese, awesome crisp veggies. It was just lacking mushrooms in my opinion. My hubby got the ham and cheese burger. He was surprised that the egg is cooked all the way through but he liked it because of the flavor it added, it was not a mess, and the melted cheese held everything together. My little one got the kids meal of mac & cheese and it was really creamy and homemade. We got fresh cut fries and they were delicious. Now comes the fun part the desert! We tried three different kinds of pie. Our number one was the strawberry lust - it had walnut crust! Never heard of or had that before! The strawberries were huge and fresh and the pie was creamy! #2 would be the creamy peanut butter pie with chocolate graham cracker crust. It was not overpowering and it was really creamy and light. No one in my family liked the Oreo pie! Too rich and tasted like it was made from an Oreo Jell-O pudding box. The service was wonderful. There was a woman that was so kind but Titus all about the desert and how the owner's mother is 70 years old comes in and makes the place every day. I thought that was a precious touch. read more

Five stars for delicious food at bargain prices. We didn't know when we arrived at Getwell's that Wednesday was fried chicken buffet night. When we were seated the server asked we wanted side salad or slaw. Then we served ourselves at the steaming hot buffet table. The buffet was kept well-stocked with fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, green beans, mac 'n cheese, rolls and more. All was delicious for an unbelievable price of $7.00 per adult. Children's meals are lower. Drinks and dessert are extra. We ordered pie for dessert based on Yelp reviews. Unfortunately the strawberry rhubarb was past its prime, doughy and cold. We should have ordered something else from their long list. Getwell's has happy hour specials with deals on drinks and appetizers. The staff is friendly and attentive. They were hustling to provide a hot delicious meal. This place is a gem! read more

My husband and I were very excited about going to this restaurant. My husband used this restaurant's facilities during the Christmas parade and loved the atmosphere so we decided to give it a try. Really cool LOOKING place. Food-not impressed. That was a real let down. Service was so so. Not at all what we expected n it was NOT worth the price. Big disappointment. When it comes down to it, the window dressings is interesting, THATS what got us in the door but now that we've seen it, it won't bring us BACK in and neither will the food. read more

There were six of us and we all got something different and all the food was very good. Hamburgers were big and fresh-even the kid's one! Fresh fruit in the fruit cup. This is a pretty good local American pub. There is a lot of space for seating and the music is not too loud. They play a good mix of country music from the 90s, 2000s, and new country. I'm not a big country fan; however, the music is perfect for the ambience of this pub. I ordered the mini heart attack burger (1/2 pound burger, their own pulled pork, Swiss cheese, and American cheese) and in-house fries. It's was really good, but their pulled pork was a little bland. They also have a heart attack burger challenge that consists of a 1 1/2 pound burger, 1/2 pound of pulled pork, (4) types of cheese, and a pound of fries. It's about $15; however, if you finish it in (20) minutes or less, it's free and you get a free t-shirt! It sounds amazing, but there is no way I could drive after that meal!! Love the decor. It's, like walking into a doctors office. Plenty of seating. The staff was very friendly and courteous. The food is really good and tasty. I had the fried tenderloin. It was huge and very thick. They also serve alcohol for those that drink it. They have coffee and soda pop. Their prices are very reasonable. We will come back again. read more

Overall an inexpensive, enjoyable experience. I'd go back based upon the service and atmosphere alone. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Salad based on the previous review and it was good (could have been better if it included bleu cheese crumbles and some home-made croutons). We ordered the appetizer sampler and everything was good. A friend ordered the country fried chicken with mashed potatoes and corn and said it was a little bland. Really good burgers! Bourbon burger is fantastic. The prices are reasonable and if you go before the bar fills up, family atmosphere is good. Once the car fills up, I wouldn't recommend bringing your kids. Service is pretty good and the wait typically isnt too vad. read more

I first came in on Wednesday and had the pork chops on special which were really good than the next day I had a ham egg and cheese burger that just blew me away. The staff is wonderful, the food for the most part is delicious (some things are not what I would like but that doesn't mean others do not), they have excellent pies as well. My favorite thing they offer is the Nutter Butter Burger! It is amazing! If you like jalepenos and peanut butter, you will love the burger. It sounds awful but try it because it is incredible! The management sucks and drinks are overpriced. Draft beer should also be cheaper. Bartenders are usually pretty snobby.

They have the best fried mushroom appetizers I've ever had. Love their turkey burger too.
