I've been talking about getting my peacock feather tattoo for about 10 years with my BFF. She came down this weekend from no cal and we decided to do it together. I cannot say enough great things about this place!! Everyone there is super friendly, personable and professional. This was my first tattoo, (on my lower back), which I had been told would be quite painful, but I only found it to be a minor irritation. I really don't know how to feel. First off, my piercing looks totally fine - but my first experience here was so odd. I had requested Joseph to re pierce my nose piercing (due to an infection that has now healed) based off a friends recommendation and stellar yelp reviews. Upon arrival, everything went smoothly - I came with a good girlfriend of mine and we were greeted with warm welcomes. I noticed the sign that read cash only and decided to go downstairs to the atm to withdraw some cash. As soon as I arrived back in the shop, I was sat down at the piercing table. At this moment I started to feel slightly uneasy. Joseph sat me down and did not seem to care to conversate with me or my friend at all. In fact, he talked to his coworkers more than he talked to us. I felt sort of rushed to get the fuck out the damn place. Joseph payed hardly any attention to me. I asked where I should place my nose ring and his response was "you're the one who's gonna wear it all the time not me." As I proceeded to move the ring to find a proper spot for it he said "don't touch" yet did not even help me find a good spot for it? I asked if there was a smaller silver hoop (for my small nose) and all he said was no. Just plain "no." He failed to offer any other recommendations as we all sat there in awkward silence since I clearly was unsatisfied with the choice provided to me. I then asked if they had gold hoops and he said that he could order it for $100. $100?? That's got to be a got damn joke. Outer Limits in Costa Mesa sells quality jewelry (rose gold + gold) for a fraction of the price. At that moment I felt forced to get my nose ring done since I had basically no options. I did not want silver nor did I want a thick ring - nobody told me that was all that they had. I then proceeded to ask what I should do to upkeep the nose ring since I have only had a stud before; Joseph's response was "just do what you did last time" I said "...so salt water??" I had to prompt shit out of this dude for him to give me some info on my piercing - since the healing process for my prior stud did not work out so well. I simply was searching for some more advice from another professional. I don't know if I had failed to ask more questions or what, but the experience was just the absolute bare minimum. You could pay the same exact price with more options plus quality service elsewhere. Bottom line I felt rushed and uncared for. Would recommend Outer Limits in Costa Mesa instead. Much more meticulous, informative, and warm service. read more

I went in today and patiently waited my turn behind another customer at front desk. Another group of girls walked in behind me and the guy at the desk immediately took a second to ask the girls behind me if they needed help. The guy left and started to prep his station. Another tattoo artist closest to the front desk was playing with his daughter. The other two in the back had customers. I looked at my watch and decided I would wait 10 minutes. Mind you its a tiny waiting area and I was standing directly in front of the counter. I was there for 12 minutes and not one person said a word to me. No greeting nothing. I turned to the girl next to me and said I guess I they don't want my business and said I think it was fair to wait 10 minutes before leaving. What burns me the most is how people with tattoos are always defending their ink and that people should'nt judge a person based on their ink. I was in business attire and it's hypocritical to assume that because of how I looked that I wasn't there for some ink. Follow up. Owner contacted me and apologized. I've had 2 tattoos done here. I'm happy with one and had a great experience getting it. The other was a walk in. The artist was not nice and used cheap ink. My tattoo becomes raised, bumpy, and very itchy about once a month. I have 20 hours of ink on the rest of my body and none of it has had this reaction. I really would have appreciated more of a consultation as well. read more

Found this place on Yelp and gave them a quick call to see if they could take walkins for piercings. My cousin and I wanted to get pierced spontaneously. We got here and Joseph was available right away to help us out. Procedure was quick and easy for both of us (second love piercings and cartilage). Been meaning to post this for a long time. If you are looking to get a "no ragrets" tattoo then this is your place. The simplest tattoo I have is also my worst one and it was done here. 3 lines to make a triangle. Horrible line work, bleeding and uneven. I litterally got a better tattoo from a self taught Mongolian woman in Ulaanbatar in a back closet of a dry cleaners/ hair salon/ eye glass repair shop than from this self described artist. Every time I look at what was supposed to be a meaningful extremely simple piece I am angry that I gave this shop money for it. Carefully vet your artists because even a design so increadably simple as 3 lines can end up looking like a middle schooler drew it while bored in detention. read more

I dont really get tattooed very often these days as it was more or less something I appreciated a lot more in my younger years. However if I ever have an idea worth placing on my body I will be going to Ghost Wolf. Keith has always kept me fully informed as to what is best for my body both professionally and with regards to health / care (for tattoos obviously). First time ever getting a piercing, and first experience at a tattoo place and gotta say it was pretty cool. Went in kind of on a wim just knowing in general what I wanted (double left earlobe piercing) but wasnt sure about the placement or if i should get both at the same time. Joseph, the piercer, said itd be cheaper if i just did both right now so I said sure (40 bucks total). Not sure how much it would have been if i just did one but I thought the price was pretty reasonable. He also talked me through the piercing and told me how to take care of it, overall he's a just a friendly chill guy.
