Ordered a pizza and mozzarella sticks it took over an hour and 15 minutes to show up when it did show up the pizza was cold. The mozzarella was a square. Nothing was even close to room. Temperature had to fire my own oven up and basically re-cook all the food what was the point called another time to give them another chance in the middle of the afternoon not even during rush and they couldn't deliver a pizza 2 miles down the road for at least an hour lost my business. read more

Since my last review they went and moved out of Sumberlin Plaza just up the street on 376 in the McDonalds Plaza area and wow what a difference. It just got much better. The last 3 times we got pizza to go it was excellent. Maybe new equipment ? Not sure. A lot more room Excellent read more

Finding local pizza that's delicious AND available with gluten free crust is almost impossible in this area - and I've tried a lot, if not all, places at least once. After having a GF pie from another Giacomo's location delivered for a recent birthday party we attended that tasted decent and also had vegan cheese, we decided to try takeout. This location doesn't have the vegan cheese, but what it lacks in vegan toppings it makes up for in crust - to say it was almost identical to the regular pie crusts is an understatement. We actually had to take it back because we just didn't believe the order was correct it looked so close - bubbling crust and all. To our complete surprise, not only were we wrong, but they let us keep the original pie we brought back as 'a mistake' - which is above and beyond good customer service. The staff was so understanding (I guess they get this disbelief a lot!) and kind - their manager should be pleased! We have officially made it our go-to for when we need GF pizza as a family and can't wait to order again. Amazing find!!! read more

Coming to New York, this place definitely met my expectations. The place itself was clean, easy to understand, and menu looked fantastic. The staff was very helpful and friendly as well. My cousin and I decided to get the square pizza, half buffalo chicken, half pepperoni. We ate inside and I could not wait to eat the food after smelling the aroma in the place. The food was amazing. I would like to continue to have ordered food from here but the girls that take the food orders over the phone are rude and bitchy. This is not a one off. This has been every-time I have placed an order over the phone. They have no sense of what customer service is. You call to place an order and they answer the phone as if you are bothering them. They don't greet you. Then, they cut you off when you are placing the order. If you're going to have employees working for you, then you need to teach them and coach them on how to interact with the public and have proper phone etiquette. I am done ordering from here. If you are getting paid to represent a business then do it right. read more

They've updated the recipe for the gluten free pizza crust and it's incredible. Only place around that has an actual crust instead of a pre-frozen flatbread. Wanted to update my review as this has become the pizzeria I go to the most. I've really never had an issue, there's one thing that bothered me about this location that tempted me to take it down a star. When ordering their dinners a few times we had people who didn't want any of the sides, they just wanted the dinner (like Chicken Parm). We'd ask if they could add an extra piece of chicken since we weren't getting any of the sides considering the price stays the same with no sides and 9 times out of 10 it was fine, except the 10th time the owner claims it was never done before yada yada yada and whoever did it isn't following the rules, but it was different people who did it each time for us. They do not offer these dishes as just the plates and only offer them as full dinners. That has made me find somewhere else when I want something aside from pizza and rolls, but for pizza and rolls, Giacomo's is my go-to place. read more

Well, I've had pizza from here many times and always good. This was first time ordering dinners to go. From the simple task of placing an order for 3 dinners and a spinach roll, the untrained girl taking the order turned it into a 5 minute process. Repeated the order and the spinach roll wasn't there but said she add it. Got there to pick up the order and it wasn't quite ready and they didn't have the spinach roll included. Had to settle for the pinwheel as "a spinach roll would need to be made from scratch". Since everything else was coming out, didn't want to wait 15 minutes and have rest get cold. They kept refereeing to the order as 2 dinners but then would say all 3 meals when reviewing the order there when paying which just adds to the impression of disorganization. Got home and one dish was wrong; had fra diavolo sauce instead of garlic & oil. Called so they would get it made and also told them one salad was missing; should have had 3 since we had 3 dinners. Drove the 20 minutes back and got the right meal and missing salad. Other than I'm sorry and "ask for me next time and I'll give you a big discount", that was how they handled their mistakes. I got an extra 40 minutes of driving back and forth and 3 cold meals (since they sat at home while getting the problem fixed) and "the promise of a big discount" NEXT time. Giacomo's has hands down the best pizza around by far! From their specialty slices, to their garlic knots - you will not be disappointed. Sometimes this location gets very busy, which leads to long wait times, but I assure you - it will be worth it! My favorites to try here are their Buffalo chicken specialty slice, spinach wheels and garlic knots. Highly recommend! A++ read more

If I can give a zero I would but I will use this Here it goes my family came here this evening for dinner we waited by the door looking 4 idiots while there was a sign that said Please wait until seated in the dinning area, we must of waited about 5 minutes finally a young kid by the front counter says ok u can sit in the dinning area, so we waited until and of course NO ONE CAME UP TO US so I suggested to my husband go up there and get a menu so he did , we were done looking at what we wanted and of course NO ONE CAME UP TO US to ask if we wanted to drink something so we all waited at least 10 minutes and still no soul so we left the place disappointed, after we left I called the place to speak with the manager who by the way sounded like a kid on the phone I addressed my concerns and disappointment in this restaurant and he did not even care did not apologize for there inconsistency...the point to my complaint is DO NOT GO HERE I WOULD NOT WANT YOUR FAMILY TO BE TREATED LIKE MY FAMILY WAS TREATED LIKE A PIECE OF GARBAGE!!!! I happened to this pizza joint while traveling for work. I settled on a plain slice, a slice of whole wheat veggie pizza and an iced tea. The veggie slice was surprisingly good. The veggies, which ranged from the common (olives, peppers and onions) to the more uncommon (artichokes) were tasty and really came through on the crisp whole wheat crust. The plain slice however was quite a disappointment, the slice was completely forgettable and the sauce tasted oddly akin to that which you get in a can of spaghettios. To cap it all off, the iced tea, while at least not from a fountain dispenser, was weirdly cloudy and was not unsweetened, but was far too weak to be considered sweet tea. I was not really sure what they were going for. Needless to say that other than the fact that I live hours away, I won't be coming back anyime soon. read more

We had lunch at Giacomo's this afternoon, and we were pleased to find that the service was excellent and the food was pretty good. The range of pizza combinations are impressive -- buffalo wing chicken, Hawaiian chicken, Grandma's pizza, fresh mozzarella, tomato & basil, fresh vegetable, etc. We were also happy to hear that you can split the pie and have different toppings - for example we chose buffalo chicken on one side and fresh vegetables on the other. Our waitress was friendly, patient and helpful. I would like to write that the pizza was the best we have ever tasted - and when it came to the table it surely looked as if it would be. The veggies were fresh (not the frozen mushy type), the buffalo chicken side was filled with chicken and a bubbly orange sauce. To be sure, I thought, this is going to be a nice spicy meal. Unfortunately - the spicy chicken was almost flavorless - no trace of spice at all. To be fair, the menu doesn't say "spicy" buffalo wing chicken, but I think it should - otherwise call it chicken pizza with an "original" sauce (just an idea) The vegetables on the veggie side of the pizza were plentiful and fresh, but once again, the taste was a bit bland -- we were expecting to experience some bursts of flavor -- say italian spices - garlic (?), oregano? something? But alas, although the veggies were crisp they stood alone. There was no marriage of vegetables and "Italianess". The crust was good, and unlike a lot of other pizza places, it was well cooked on the bottom. They have a fine array of other dishes on their menu, but unless they do a bit more to "spice it up" (in other words put more pizazz into their food) - we won't be back -- it's a case of the food looking good, but just not flavorful. read more

First and foremost the food is great quality. What you get is fantastic... assuming you get what you order. I've ordered their Turkey & Pesto cold sub with two changes light on the cheese and toasted. Out of the last 5 times, I've received the pesto sub only once on the first go. Four of the five times I received a turkey club. Today I ordered the Turkey & Pesto again. And I received the turkey club.... again. If you are sitting down you can correct it there, which I had to one time. Its sad that a place that has great food options can't prepare things correctly when they deliver it out. Decent, consistent. The pizza is okay. The food quality is good -- not to be confused with a higher-end restaurant -- but far more consistent that most local pizza shops. Giacamos pizza on rt 376 in wappengers ny. Is by far more than just a pizzeria restaurant. It is in fact a hidden secret. The owners are happy to make anything you want and anyway you want it. They are very nice and care about the way their food is prepared. Which is always fresh and delicious. The staff right down to their delivery guys are sweet and caring. A true reflection of a great all around establishment. Now for the food. So much food for the money. A must to try is the penne ala vodka, if you like. It is enough for 2-3 nights dinner. Omg so good. Next is the fettuccini Alfredo w/ shrimp . Not only are the shrimp jumbo cleaned and butterfly (open) they have a slight snap when you bite them which is the way you can tell they were fresh and not frozen. Blended into this amazing Alfredo sauce. This portion can be dinner for 2-3 nights. Tyler and Josh are great owners and fantastic chefs. They have all homemade soups fresh italian bread and and amazing grilled chicken salad. A full menu as well. If you have not tried this place i feel bad for you. Love the pizza for many years. They now serve wine. We have been there twice in the last month and could not get a bottle of pinot grigio because they ran out of all white wine on both occasions. Let's start by saying I didn't expect much going in.I've seen quite a few restaurants of this chain in the area and decided to try it out.Most chains like Dominos,Pizza Hut,etc,are OK but not what you'd call great pizza.This wasn't great pizza either,but it was a good,fast and inexpensive lunch.They have a big selection of pizzas for "slices",so if you're in a hurry,you can grab a couple to go.My wife and I decided to dine in,and we got a bacon tomato and ranch flatbread pizza.Basic,simple and tasty.Most of their pizzas in the showcase were flatbread types,but there were a few traditional pizza pies as well.Strombolis,subs and pasta dinners are on the menu,as well as salads-if you eat them.(I don't touch the stuff)With drinks,we spent about twenty bucks on lunch.Not bad for a sit down lunch.These days you can drop almost that much at Wendy's read more

I had stopped going to Giacamos for a while after I went to sit down to eat in the restaurant. After being told by one of the staff to go sit down and someone would be with us. We had to get our own menus and my son went and got.us drinks from the cooler. After waiting and seeing other people come in and being taken care of and us being ignored I got up and went to the counter , paid for ur drinks and left. I didn't return for months. Tonight I finally called.to place a pickup order - wait 30 minutes pick it up being it home only to find it wasn't what I wanted. When I placed the order the girl who answered told me the pie was a thin crust Sicilian which I knew was not the case and I said no I've always gotten it as round. This particular pizza is one of their specialty pies. When I called.to say the order was wrong I was told yeah the girl messed up. We can make.you another was their apology - that's fine if it's not 8pm, just got.home.from work and don't mind waiting another 30 minutes to drive back their and pick up what you actually wanted due to incompetent staff. The pizza is far better than the service and proffessionalisim of the staff and owner. We placed an order for delivery and once the pizza arrived, we noticed it was not what we ordered. After enduring a 20 minute phone call and being passed from person to person to explain what was wrong with the pizza, we were offered a credit but not an apology. A second time, this same thing happened and while we were fine keeping the pizza, we called to alert the staff that the pizza was not made as ordered and there was no attempt on their part to fix the issue nor was there an apology. We feel that there are too many quality pizza places in the area to continue to give Giacomo's business. We usually get our pizza here and it's been pretty good. On March 10th, we ordered a pizza with 3 toppings, a calzone and eggplant parm meal for take-out. It was ready on time. The calzone was good, the pizza was really oily (dripping) and the eggplant parm was horrible. It was very thinly sliced eggplant, heavily breaded, not cooked at all before the cheese and sauce were put on and put in the oven. It was a mess of soggy bread crumbs, soggy eggplant and cheese. The only thing good about it was the sauce. I'll never order an entree there again and I'm not too sure about ordering pizza there again either. read more
