The pants were especially bad, the center seam was haphazardly pinched and sown together. With my wedding in two weeks, I gave these guys a call, and it was the best decision ever. Not only did they turn it around in time, I felt so taken care of. Nick and the team are truly amazing. They obsessed over the results more than I did, and wouldn't stop until it was perfect. That's why I returned in May 2025 to order a sportcoat. Unfortunately, the customer service this time fell short of my expectations. By late August, I realized I hadn't heard anything about the order and called for an update. I was told the fabric had been out of stock and later delayed due to the factory's vacation schedule, which seemed reasonable enough. In September, they contacted me for a fitting, but the appointment date inadvertently fell on a holiday when the store was closed. I rescheduled for October. At that visit, I was told the jacket would be ready in a few weeks, but again, no one reached out. In December--more than six months after ordering--I called once more and received a text saying they'd follow up with an estimated date. When I expressed frustration about the lengthy delay, they acknowledged that the initial order had been submitted late, which contradicted earlier explanations. To their credit, they took responsibility and offered a generous store credit, which was appreciated but not expected. The reason for my three-star rating isn't the final product, which was fine, but the lack of proactive communication. I had to repeatedly contact them just to understand what was happening with an order that had been paid for months earlier. Even my salesperson at Macy's is more proactive--and I don't spend thousands of dollars at a time there. My husband has had consistently positive experiences at Alan David, so I do believe my situation was an outlier and wouldn't discourage others from trying them. They ultimately handled the service recovery well; I only wish the issue had been acknowledged and addressed earlier. My hope is simply that their follow-up and order tracking become more reliable moving forward because otherwise, you might be left with the feeling that once you've paid, nobody really cares.

I also chose blue paisley lining, along with a fabulous brown button. When I was being measured I pleaded with the fitter not to make the garment too tight. Bespoke tailors have a tendency to do this. When I returned for fitting number one I mentioned that the draft was too tight. Fitting number two was still too tight, so they opened up the jacket as far as it could go. As of now the jacket fits, but if I gain two pounds I'm going to be out of luck. Add to this that it took eight weeks to finish the product and I'm not very happy. My future business will be going to Albert Lam and Joseph Genuardi.

Alterations to go is a nice balance. I recently got a new pair of Paige jeans hemmed and it only set me back $15. Both sides even, nice cuff - not much more you could ask for. Looks like the store did it themselves. I have a jacket that needs some zipper work and another pair of dress pants for work (that I might need sometime in 2022 at this point) so I'll be come here for both of those. The staff is generally fine, although there is one woman who tends to be curt. Most recently, I went and the 3 staff started laughing when I came out of the fitting room. They asked if I spoke Spanish. When I replied no, they proceeded to speak in Spanish. It was strange to ask and the rest of the interaction was uncomfortable. When I asked for clarity on a price the attitude I got back was enough to walk away. $60 for any dress that has a lining; even if it's a simple cotton sundress.
