This is a review for their New Years Eve event. Last minute booking a few days before. Very pleased overall. Very cute speakeasy. For starters it was not crowded at all, there was seating for every reservation (been to a standing room only NYE party in past elsewhere in the city not fun). In fact maybe only 20% capacity, felt like a tiny private event. Included in the package I made on resy was open bar including classic cocktails plus a bottle of champagne. All the drinks were spectacular and well crafted. Also included was a 1 snack per reservation, which we opted for the charcuterie board that was delicious, other options include chips and guacamole, hummus with crudités. Overall was a classy vibe, far away from tourist or rowdy crowd. We were well attended to the whole night. If you're looking for something low key and a bit classy plus have a love for craft cocktails then this is a really great option and worth the money. read more

Excellent vibes. This fits the niche of, not too loud and rowdy like a pub, but not the super tight and pretentious atmosphere of most cocktail bars. The TV screen is a bonus, although the ones on the side are a bit small, and there's no audio for the TV. For the drinks, they sound very good on paper, but for some reason I could not taste every thing. The cold brew negroni was good, a bit too sweet for my taste, but the coffee was truly there. Not enough ice though and the drink got diluted too fast. For the peat & tiki, it was really just a sweet syrupy tiki drink, and I barely tasted the peat, if it was there at all. This one they used a tall ice cube though which I appreciated. read more

A total rip off. They offered to make us martinis off menu, and charged us $30 per martini - a gin charge + martini charge + a "vesper" charge. When your on menu drinks are $19, should me in the vicinity. To add insult to injury my dirty martini glass was only half filled, and the drink was shaken. Steer clear. read more

Then, since I had originally accidentally booked the reservation for the wrong day, I tried to call to move it, and was ghosted, and charged $50. Do NOT go to this bar. Amazing service and lovely drinks. It is a small, quaint yet intimate speakeasy, nestled in the back. The decor gives a little man-cave but in a very elevated elegant way. With a classy vibe this is the perfect first date spot. I got the Mr pink drink (I think thats the name) and my date got a watermelon/mint mock tail made by the bartender. Both drinks were great. My drink was heavily minted, so be aware of that. Definitely make a reservation since its a small space. I loved how they constantly checked in on us and the music choice gave 2000s but was not overwhelmingly loud. 10/10 read more

We popped in here on a Tuesday night and had a lovely time! While we almost didn't go in after being turned off by the front room (a faux clothing storefront), we thankfully caught a peek of the lounge in the back when the door opened and were drawn in. From the exterior, it looks like and is a clothing store and it's easy to miss the fact that there's a bar hidden behind there because the J Bespoke sign is above the door and the sign on the door says something else. There's a host at the front entrance who directs you to a secret door in the back behind which are the bar and lounge seats. The interior is narrow but cozy, with dim lighting, art on the wall, and plush seats. The temperature was comfortable. The server came by pretty quickly after we sat down and took our order. This bar is on the InKind restaurant network, so I wanted to give it a shot because it is a speakeasy. I've been encouraging all my friends about and referring to them to the InKind app, which makes the quite pricey NYC drinks a little cheaper. The drinks were around $18 each. The service was attentive and consistent. Drinks were moderately strong and flavorful. They charge a fee for drinks that are not on their menu (not an upgraded liquor, but my margarita was $2 more) plus a service fee for credit cards. Businesses will do anything to sneak in extra charges when most people look st their itemized receipt. Similar establishments in NYC don't do that. I paid with the InKind app, not a credit card, and there was still a charge. I would recommend for the vibe and well-made drinks but pay cash if you want to avoid additional fees! read more

We were in the area looking for a bar when we found this place on google maps. Had no idea it was a speakeasy so we kept walking back and forth until we realized that this speakeasy is tucked away behind a suit store - so brilliant and cute! It was fairly packed on a Friday night around midnight but died down afterwards. A nice lowkey atmosphere to go with a group of friends, can be an intimate date spot too. Drinks were on the sweeter side but there's a good variety. I got Mr. Pink and it was so delicious! Didn't get to try the food. Lovely place, will definitely come back! read more

Didn't have reservations but just was accommodating. Although we kind of given a time limit due to reservations we totally stayed over the time limit and ummm it was a little empty when we left. Decor sleek dimly lit and has a little seat vibe. Upscale chic .Small interior but it does it job. Ingenious inspired cocktails. It may resemble water but my drink was Gin based! As always had to order those wings. That Parmesan flavored coating is the best. All in all good time had by all will continue to return and try other drinks.. especially as they are on the Seated reservation app and we received seated dollars from our bill. We found this speakeasy by chance on our way to dinner, which reminded me of a similar concept in Montreal. Once past the secret door, you will see a cozy "living room" with a few TV screens and a big screen behind the bar. I had the peat & tiki, and my partner got the mcAvoy as recommended by the waitress. I was surprised by how complex peat & tiki was - I tasted so many different flavors within one drink. Overall, a good spot to pop in for a drink. A few constructive points: 1) I specifically ordered my Monkey 47 martini stirred -- as gin typically should be -- but watched the bartender shake it less than a minute later; 2) My food took quite a while to arrive. I was told there was a "situation" with my order and it would be out as soon as possible. When it finally came, the wings were decent, but the fries were lukewarm -- not ideal after such a long wait. I also requested a side of mayonnaise, which the kitchen didn't have which I found odd, considering mayo is a pretty standard condiment; and 2) A small knit, but if you're serving food, utensils should be provided automatically without having to specifically request it (and a napkin for the lap would be appreciated). Great, lowkey speakeasy spot in Flatiron. I don't think it's super well known, my friend and I were just able to walk in on a Friday evening which we loved not having to wait. Drinks tasted super fresh and fruity and service was great. The ambience was interesting, the speakeasy is half glass artwork and half sports bar. No one was watching the sports games as far as I could see so it seemed a bit random to have a huge screen take up half the space for sports games in what is otherwise a classy, elevated space, but I suppose that's what makes this place different and unique. Oooo. A speakeasy that's still unknown enough to be quiet at 7pm on a Thurs night (but much louder by 9pm). Me like the pretty decor, pretty drinks and pretty staff. We imbibed a lot. The standout was the G.O. Paloma for being a great summer cocktail. Next, the Peat & Tiki does justice to scotch. Charlotte's Dilemma is perfect for drinkers who don't like the taste of alcohol. And the Call Me Bell was meh, so skip it despite the nice-sounding ingredients. Food-wise, we shared the Guacamole, Spicy Wings Oreganata and Waffle Fries. All tasty, all what you expect for speakeasy small bites. Decent portions--any two items would be enough for dinner unless you were starving. But if you don't like loud, leave before 9pm. This is a true IYKYK speakeasy. I love taking my visiting friends and family here at night for some after-dinner drinks because it's such a cool experience. The front of the store looks like a bespoke suit company. But, once the host checks your reservation (reservations are a must!), they open a large, bright wooden door to a fun, lounge room. They serve food up to a certain time (I think 9 pm). They also play sports games one their screens up to a certain time then they switch it to a true club/lounge room. The space is clean and small, so it feels very intimate. The staff are incredibly nice and professional as well. The drinks are delicious! I've had the Cold Brew Martini (my personal favorite) and the Peat & Tiki (very strong). I usually order the guacamole for a small snack for our table and that's usually good too. read more

Apparently they'll play sports here on a jumbo screen which I didn't realize when I booked a reservation but it was cute and intimate. I got the G.O. I knocked off a star because I was incorrectly marked as a no show for my Resy reservation which then charged my credit card a $100 fee and the only way I could get that taken off was to call them and have them remove the charge after sending proof. Came here on a Friday night around 11 pm and luckily there were still tables for large groups! Staff was super accommodating and friendly. We quickly put in our drink orders- I got the Mr. pink, which was a cucumber infused vodka cocktail with pineapple notes. It was very refreshing and not terribly alcoholic (good thing or bad?) It was about $18- which I think is about average for NYC cocktails now. I've always thought the coffee shop Devoción was a bit suspicious - something about the spatial layout set off the alarm in my lizard brain. Then one day J.Bespoke popped up on my Yelp feed, I looked up the address, and it all made sense! As soon as we walked into Devoción, we saw the hostess waiting towards the back of the narrow coffee shop. She checked our coats and led us through the door into the stylish and intimate bar. They do have large screen TVs, but this really isn't your typical sports bar where you can stand and walk around with a beer. Noisy level is average which is great for conversing at ease. Cocktails were good and service was attentive and friendly. We were offered the menu and cucumber-infused water as soon as we sat down. Didn't try their food but I'll definitely be back for it. I wouldn't say that the space is tight as the table were pretty spaced out, but the seats are limited so I definitely recommend making a reservation, which can be easily done via Resy. read more

Plush leather seats were incredibly comfortable and arguably better than the couch seating. Plenty of indoor seating although only a few seats at the bar. The drinks here were more watery than I expected for NYC. This was a disappointment and hope that it's stronger next time. Service was great. To celebrate my team's completion of a project at work, we hired J.Bespoke for a virtual cocktail class. While I investigated the various virtual services out there, J.Bespoke initially stood out as being particularly responsive and personal on the phone. Not from the New York area, I originally had no familiarity with J.Bespoke but ultimately booked the event with them based on the positive interactions I had with the owner. J.Bespoke was the RIGHT choice, rather the PERFECT choice! First and foremost, my team is located across the continental U.S. as well as London. Within two weeks notice, J.Bespoke sent their cocktail kits (ingredients + tools) across the globe. Not to mention, these cocktail kits included very high quality tools that I know I will use endlessly in the future. Beyond the rapid order/delivery service, the owner of J.Bespoke would answer my emails within an hour's time. He provided all the information I needed to 1) join the Zoom, 2) select cocktails, 3) prepare my team for the event and 4) receive reimbursement from my employer. Finally, the event itself was outstanding. Jesse, the instructor, was not only knowledgeable but a pleasant new comer to our project team. He went at the perfect pace for the group and remained patient with some of our slow lemon juicing! I cannot compliment him enough for his instruction. Im a sucker for speakeasies. I love the usually inconspicuous entrance and the more intimate ambience that a speakeasy provides. J. Bespoke does not fail to accomplish either. Went during Game 7 of the Bucks / Nets game (rip nets) and they had the game on the big screen and some of the side TVs as well. The drinks were great, albeit a bit expensive - but what isn't nowadays in nyc?? Highly recommend for a date night or if you're just trying to enjoy a night out and want a more upscale/classy environment. It's worth mentioning that I walked in with shorts and a graphic tee and was not turned over or treated any differently than the other guests, most of which were dressed smart/business casual. read more

Walked here in the rain after having dinner at Osamil. The front is a coffee shop, you walk through a door after being checked in. Excellent staff. Host in front really a sweet guy and the waitress was lovely with a very warm smile. Drinks are great, I always appreciate an old fashioned that has one large ice cube. Seating is ok, it doesn't really promote cross mingling. Young crowd. Seating furthest from the bar feels a little awkward and tough to get comfortable. J. Bespoke captures the magical feeling we used to get when speakeasies were a novelty. "Whoa a secret door in the back of a nondescript business opens up to a hidden bar?!" we'd muse before we grew jaded as "speakeasies" became a rite of passage for any burgeoning restaurateur. This transportational feeling is mainly owed to the forest green velvet seating lining the sides of the wood paneled walls, which lead up to a gorgeous, backlit bar. The space is simultaneously grand and sexy, and you wouldn't know it exists if you were just looking at the coffee shop in the front. The large screen TVs broadcasting sports across the walls might make you scratch your head and wonder if this place is trying to be a sports bar or a cocktail bar. Why not both? There's certainly a market for people who enjoy both. It is a novel experience, and though I am do not partake in any sports viewing whatsoever, I really like the feel of this bar.
