If only I had allotted enough time to drive through it I might have rated it five stars. I was unfortunately on a tight schedule. I needed to make sure to get to the HEB parking lot during the peak time to witness the cluster that was the parking lot due to construction.

If you're in Waxahachie and you haven't hit the famous Waxahachie Pothole, are you even living?…read moreThis isn't just a pothole--it's a landmark, a rite of passage, a black hole for your suspension. Locals say it's been here since the dinosaurs, and honestly, I believe it. My car hit it so hard, I swear I saw fossils. The Waxahachie Pothole offers a full range of emotions: terror, regret, and then a strange sense of accomplishment. It's like a surprise party for your tires, except the party is hosted by gravity and asphalt neglect. Bonus points for the sound effects--it's like your car screams, "Why have you forsaken me?" in real time. For the full experience, I recommend hitting it at night, when it's camouflaged by the streetlights. Daylight encounters are fine too, but you miss the thrill of the element of surprise. And don't worry--if you get stuck, locals will be more than happy to charge you a tow fee while sharing their own pothole horror stories. Honestly, this pothole is a Waxahachie treasure. Sure, I lost a hubcap, but I gained a story to tell at every barbecue from now until eternity. 10/10, would hit again (mostly because I have no choice). Thank you, Waxahachie, for this masterpiece of municipal engineering!

Well worth the stop along I-30 in Greenville. Support your local history!…read more Open Tuesday thru Saturday 10am to 5pm. Cost $6 adults $2.00 discount for veterans and seniors. The Audie Murphy Museum is one of those landmarks you pass through Greenville off I-30. This is a wonderful informative museum. A very special place that lends a glimpse into the life of not only a hero that needs to be remembered & the most decorated soldier of WWII. It features one of the largest privately owned collections of U.S. veteran and actor Audie Murphy. There is a tribute wall to those currently serving the military from this area. I'm very glad we stopped. The Cotton Museum is interesting which I thoroughly enjoyed for my father retired from the Cotton Council. Much of the museum preserves the local history too. The museum just added a rare collection of personal items that belonged to Desmond Doss (Hacksaw Ridge), Gen. George C. Marshall, Gen. George S. Patton, Gen. Jimmy Doolittle, Audie Murphy, Adm. John D. Bulkeley, Maj. Richard I. Bong, and Cmdr. David McCampbell. I really enjoyed the exhibit. Highly recommend, you won't regret it!!
