Giant Eagle is a grocery-store chain, and this particular location is in Glenshaw. My husband and I shopped here one time. The parking lot had an adequate number of spaces for vehicles. The store contained the usual departments: fruits, vegetables, pantry items, meats, seafoods, dairy products, beverages, snacks, prepared foods, baked goods, pet supplies, and more. The store also had a pharmacy, but I did not use it. The store appeared to be well-stocked, organized, and clean. We found all foods for which we were looking. One of the worst pharmacy experiences I've ever had. Called in and was told order was ready. Arrived and told it would be 20 min. Came back in 20 min, and was told it would be 20 min more. Came back again and I was told it would be 10 min. The customer service is terrible the staff is unkempt, unprofessional, and rude. Here is a tip don't give a time if you can't make it and certainly don't do it 3 times in a row. This is a ship without a captain. Go elsewhere. Where did all the good pharmacies go? read more

I was transferred to this pharmacy because my old one shut down. Nothing but bad experiences since I started going here. My doctor refilled a prescription because it was time but the pharmacist said it couldn't be refilled until next month. It's a 20 week prescription and the pharmacist said 20 weeks is a month from now because she assumed 5 months is 20 weeks. BUT on average each month is 4.28 weeks so counting months doesn't work, you need to count the weeks not months. I had to explain this to the pharmacist whose primary function is to count stuff. Never going back to this pharmacy. Avoid due to rude staff, incompetence and long line read more

Pharmacy is a joke. the phone line hangs up on you. They NEVER get your prescription right. You have to wait in line for an hour to get to the window only to be told they screwed up. over and over, its been the same experience. They have failed miserably. read more

First visit to the pharmacy was fine. No issues, smooth sailing. Second visit the gentleman working was so nonchalant and lack luster. As if I was bothering him by being there. It's definitely hit or miss. I wouldn't make it a point to come back to this location. read more

Love this Giant Eagle location. I'm surprised they didn't make it into a market district. Other than missing a few features, it feels like a market district. The store is always super clean and the employees friendly. One of my favorite GE locations for sure. read more

This could be a very nice location, but there is evidently a bit of mismanagement going on here. 1) I do not believe that the employees' smoking section should be located next to the outdoor seating area. The fence does not provide adequate distance between the second-hand smoke and the people dining outside or coming in through the café entrance. This area is usually dirty as well. The smoking area should be near the rear of the store, away from customers entirely. 2) I realize that this store would prefer that customers not drive behind the store and that GE has installed speed bumps in that area. However, employees have set up road barriers and/or obstacles made out of pallets, boxes, plant stands, etc. This is unsafe and prevents proper ingress/egress from the store. This is a fire and safety hazard. This will not deter me from using the entrance at the rear of the store as it allows me to avoid traffic and pedestrians; which is a safer alternative. 3) Please remove some of the floral/candy items from the walkway between produce and the café. This area is congested and having to dodge balloons and other miscellany is frustrating. 4) Please tell me what is going on with your produce. Giant Eagle advertises only the freshest produce, delivered daily. However, more often than not I have tried to purchase avocados only to find them to be rotten, ginger that is dried up, garlic that has sprouted, and grapes that are brown and soft. Is there no quality control in this department? I would expect that for the exorbitant amount of money GE charges for such things, quality would be of the utmost. It is for these reasons that I will do the bulk of my shopping at Aldi and Trader Joe's. read more

A very nice newer Giant Eagle. Easy to get in and out. What do we want out of a grocery store: 1. It is very clean 2. Easy to get in and out of the store 3. Deli / pre-made items are good 4. I can't give a full 5 stars because I'm rating for curb side only, and corresponding via text during shopping has been unimpressive. The manners just aren't there. Nonetheless, OK so far since my concern is 1) quality items, 2) timeliness at pick-up. I had to stop using the Waterworks location since they kept giving me bad/inedible produce even after I put a note in the comment section requesting freshness. To date, I have not had an issue with quality at the Shaler location. read more

I have lived in the area for some time. I remember when your location was on the other side of Route 8. I chose your prepared foods to order chicken wings when we were entertaining guests. I have always heard excellent reviews. I had ordered 50 wings to be picked up at 5 PM on Saturday 10/26/19. The gentlemen who took care of my getting my order, made sure that we had the sauces on the side, I didn't open the pan at the store to see the wings, but if I had, I certainly wouldn't have carried them out of the store. I couldn't believe my eyes when I opened the pan. The label said jumbo wings split, to feed 6 - 8. The ''wings'' were very dark and not one of the "wings" were more than 3-4 inches. Very disappointed in your prepared foods, also I have heard so many complaints as to how your store keeps being rearranged constantly. read more

Not on the ball today. Had to wait over a half hour for a simple script for our sick kid. Sat and waited, and waited and watched countless people drop off and pick up scripts. Crazy. I'll be looking for a new place to get our scripts from now on. read more

This is our go-to neighborhood giant eagle and it's a winner! It's only a couple years old so it has all of the wonderful amazing amenities you'd expect from a new giant eagle....more organic, gluten-free, diary-free options, tons of prepared foods, beer, coffee, specialty items, tons of cheeses, a huge bakery, and more. Better yet, there's also a Get-Go right across the street. There's plenty of self-serve check outs and regular check-out lanes. read more

Very effective customer service IF you are able to find it. Not well staffed at all. Difficult to find employees to help in: grocery, hbw, and there are usually very long lines at the checkouts - not very many open. For a store that is only two years old the store is not clean at all. Lots of dust on shelves and product. Also take a glance at the condition of the dairy coolers - especially the inside shelf base where product is stored. This grocery monopoly has some of the highest prices in the country. Not unusual to find many products on the shelf that are considerably out of date; shouldn't this be checked by employees?? So please be sure to check your own dates before purchasing products from there. read more

We love this giant eagle as a store, however, the pharmacy is terrible!! It took them over a week to fill my rx, claiming that my dr wouldn't call them back. I find out later that my dr had faxed them back the same day I tried to refill my rx. The staff was rude and told me it was my job to call the dr to make sure they called the pharmacy. They also said I needed to continually call the pharmacy to remind them to call the dr! Very unprofessional and disorganized! Do yourself a favor and take you rx somewhere else! read more

The Pharmacy at this store SUCKS. Everytime I go there they make a major screw up to where I wonder if I'm being discriminated against. They ignore HIPAA laws and have actually read aloud a list of my medications to try to resolve their repeated errors. Other patrons could hear them! I am seething from the last screw up tonight. I dropped off 2 prescriptions, both from providers that were new to me. One of the prescriptions had been prescribed previously by a doctor no longer treating me. That prescription expired 6 months ago. A new provider prescribed the same drug. I provided 2 paper Rx's. They actually argued with me that I ha dn't given them 2 scripts and kept telling me it had expiredand they would have to call the doctor. If they had looked, they would have noted that it was a DIFFERENT provider, different license, etc. Then they put the actual "missing" RX script in a bag with filled medications. HaH! Once I settle down I am calling the store manager and maybe their district manager too. Why do I go there? It's the closest pharmacy to my house that takes my insurance. Trying to save time and gas. Maybe it's not worth it. read more
