I happened to find Blueberry Pharmacy on a random "shout out great local businesses" thread on…read moreReddit, right when I was growing increasingly frustrated with having to pay $400-$500 for an inhaler my dog needs for chronic bronchitis. The pharmacist/owner, Kyle, is doing something truly groundbreaking by providing access to medications at a lower cost without the need for insurance. He sees that the state of the pharmaceutical/insurance/healthcare industries is not doing any favors for the person they are all theoretically supposed to serve, the patient, and is on a mission to help the consumer by negotiating directly with suppliers. My dog has had major GI problems when we've tried a generic version of his medication. When I spoke with Kyle about this, he explained to me that what I would be getting through him is called an authorized generic. A company called Prasco, a leader in the authorized generic space, produces our exact same medication with the manufacturer's blessing but it comes to us under their label instead of GSK. Everything about the medication is otherwise the same. He was so knowledgeable that I took it on faith that this medication would be the same as the $500 brand name and told him my dog would let me know if it wasn't. That was a few months ago and we are now ordering our second inhaler through Blueberry, so suffice to say it is working out and we are thankful. We pay about $260 instead of $400-$500; I'll take it. Thanks to Kyle and his equally lovely staff. I admire and appreciate what you are doing here.

The service was smooth, communication was clear and genuine. They shipped my order immediately. I made a mistake with my address (we just moved here and our new house number is so confusing, too many ones and sevens :) They were so nice about my mistake and solved the issue immediately! One of the best experiences I have had online, not just pharmacy (not to mention my first online pharmacy order) :) BTW, they are authorized to ship to only few states as of October 2025. PA, WV, NJ, DE, OH, and FL

She's a teenager, so we hardly need the child-proof lids. Sometimes we'll get the regular lids, sometimes we won't. I picked up three prescriptions one time and two had the child-proof lids and one didn't. I've asked them repeatedly not to give us the child-proof caps. I get a rather snotty answer that it's already noted on our profiles. The automated system drives us nuts. It calls when your prescription is ready, which is fine, but it will call for each and every individual Rx. So, if you're waiting on six, you'll get six automated calls, one after the other. The final straw for me, though, was when I went to pick up the kiddo's Rx today. It was called in to the pharmacy yesterday, but still wasn't ready by 11:30 this morning. When I got the automated call, we left to pick it up. We got to the pharmacy at 1:20 and waited in the drive-thru lane for 10 minutes behind two cars. When we FINALLY got to the window, they closed the curtains and told me they were going to lunch! They seriously would not give me the Rx. I was told to come back later after 2:00. (I did, but the line of cars wrapped around the building, and I had just bought ice cream at the store. If it took ten minutes with two cars, I couldn't sit there with six cars ahead of me, so I left). We'll now be going to a different pharmacy for our meds. Unless it needs to be ordered, I should be able to get necessary meds in less than 24 hours from when the doctor calls it in.

This needs to be a two way street. My recent visit to this location just reinforced the notion that I am lumping them in with Kmart, Burger King, and Sears. Oldies, but not Goodies anymore. In other words, is anyone in management, or corporate, paying attention to the current retail times, or the overall weary condition of your stores, and staff? I was very discouraged by their photo developing system. Nothing appears to have changed with their system since the 1980s. I decided to move on to more modern-looking equipment, and products, at another establishment. During my shopping trip to this location, an announcement was repeated several times that the store was being monitored, and, rest assured, you can shop without fear. Two elderly women near me could not make out what was being said, so I kindly interpreted for them . Basically, you can shop here safely, and, while you are at it, don't think about shoplifting. I honestly do not care for this constant reminder. This location must have a high theft incidences or something. Drug stores are constantly trying to bring your business to them. Thank goodness there are other options in this category.

I've been a client for years and suddenly am told they can no longer fill my prescriptions since my doctor is out of state (we live 3 miles from the state line). When asked how we were getting served for 4 years since this was always the case, they said they must have missed it. So ask yourself, do you want a pharmacy that misses key details for years on end? If yes, I wish you luck.

My toy poodle was diagnosed with epilepsy a few years ago and because of her small size, her…read moreseizure medication has to be compounded. I've used another local compounding pharmacy and I actually can't remember a single refill that went smoothly. It was hard to actually get through to someone over the phone, if you did, they always seemed rushed and overwhelmed and like you were bothering them. It was always a hassle to get a refill and they were never willing to reach out to the vet etc. Numerous times they had forgotten to call me to let me know that I was out of refills and needed a new script, they had my credit card on file, but after not hearing anything, I would call and find out they didn't realize they had my credit card on file so didn't process payment, they would forget to call and tell me it was ready, they'd forget to make it... Most recently, I was given a 60 day supply that expired in 30 days. I had to fill the next prescription early. That one was shipped to me without the lid on so leaked out. I had a heck of a time getting them to exchange the medication for a new one even after explaining my concern that the concentration would be off. When I did get the replacement, it looked completely different and when I inquired to make sure everything was okay with it... I was met with rudeness and accusations. I was told it was the same medication that they always give me even though this was white and opaque versus clear. I can handle grumpy people, but I won't risk my dogs health so I drew the line. I asked for recommendations on our community Facebook group and the overwhelming response pointed me in Spartan's direction. From my first call with Ron at the 51 location, I knew Spartan was going to be great. He was so patient, kind and helpful. He went out of his way to get in touch with the Bethel Park compounding pharmacist and follow up with me. He also explained why the current medication might look different... something that the pharmacy that made it wouldn't do. He confirmed that they received my prescription and it was ready the next day. They called me to let me know the powder they used was going to be expiring before the 30 day supply was gone. They wanted to inform me that ahead of time. She explained that they already ordered new and we're going to discount the current bottle, but that they didn't want me to be without so made it and would be set for the next refill. I was absolutely blown away by the customer service. My dog has another emergency medication, one they Spartan hasn't ever made before... but that they ordered equipment and consulted with others to find out how to make. They could have easily told me no and sent me somewhere else, but were willing to do it and never even hesitated. Another thing that I noticed was the quality. The previous pharmacy provided syringes they typically broke before their first use, Spartan carries the more expensive, but but better ones. The previous pharmacy uses liquid bottles that you literally can't screw the lid on straight... Spartan's is super user friendly. Spartan's also seems way more competent and less overwhelmed. Anytime I called with a question or spoke with someone, they never seemed distracted or rushed and I felt like I had their full attention. My vet accidentally called in a 30 day supply versus a 60 day and when I found out, I asked Spartan if I should ask the vet to call them to make the change and instead, she insisted that they would reach out themselves and it'd be absolutely no problem... the old pharmacy wouldn't even confirm whether or not they received a script from the vet. I'm thankful that it got so bad that I decided to find a new pharmacy, just wish I would have done so way earlier!
