The worst Giant Eagle I have ever seen! Produce was terrible, very little to chose from, bakery was old and out dated, came home with a loaf of Italian bread that should have been taken off the shelf on 6/5/2026, shelves were empty and I saw two employees walking around eating donuts and doing very little else. I am starting this review with a compliment. Kevin Z checked me out and was so pleasant and happy and had no problem conversing with me. He was a delight compared to others at registers that wouldn't crack a smile and just look downright unhappy make you feel like you are interupting them .I really don't shop here anymore because of feeling depressed when I leave, thats how the store makes you feel. I only use their pharmacy and those people are gems always make you feel they are happy to see you. are helpful and efficient. The store needs a clean out of unhappy people or maybe it is the management that causes this, hmmmm. Maybe customer service training. You only have happy employees when they are appreciated. This store will not get my business in the future! I only shopped there for last minute items that were forgotten from another Giant Eagle, Meijers or Whole Foods. Unfortunately, each time has been a bad experience because of the lack of proper customer service, (Joyce). A couple of weeks ago a friend of mine offered to do a study and see if she would be treated the same as I was. She played out the exact same scenario. Needless to say, the outcome was different. Today, I hated that I had to go in there again but I was too exhausted to go any further. Unfortunately, I ran into the same, not so friendly or accommodating (Joyce) . The Giant Eagle on Lorain, located in Fairview Park is clean, well stocked and welcoming. I no longer shop at Giant Eagle. Prices are too high and the final straw was when they stopped mailing their circular at the begining of the year. I have tried their very slow and clumsy web site to view sales for the week. The web site takes a lot longer to load and navigate than It takes to view their former circular. If you are a wise shopper, seek out other stores because it is not difficult to find better pricing than Giant Eagle. read more

By far the most disappointing Giant Eagle our there. Selection is limited, staff is not the friendliest and the store in general is not super clean. I love Giant Eagle, so I just drive the extra miles and go to Westlake to their Market District. read more

At the end of an interaction the Saturday AM before Memorial Day, I told Cameron, the customer service representative, that I was going to take my business elsewhere. He shrugged and replied "go ahead." I was loyal to Giant Eagle and this location in particular until that exact moment. I called to let management know what happened. They did not ask for my name or phone number to follow up with me. I do hope the people who work in produce, the bakery, deli, and meat counter who know me and my children by sight (due to our shopping frequency) and are always pleasant, helpful, and personable are able to maintain their livelihoods as Giant Eagle loses loyal customers due to inept and rude customer service. Unrelated, the cakes are extremely overpriced and not all that tasty (though the bakery staff are outstanding). Costco is the best place to go for a sheet cake. read more

This is probably the worst Giant Eagle I have ever shopped in. They are always understaffed with stressed out and overworked employees. I'm constantly finding food with expired dates because they don't have enough employees to keep tabs on that. Produce selection is limited and I can't buy anything frozen because it thaws or melts by the time I stand in a 30 minute line. I just shop at the North Olmsted location now. read more

Customer assistance is the one issue that can't be overlooked. But remember, that's something completely out of the staffs hands, and not the fault of the employee. It's obvious to me the employees do the best they can given the circumstances. It's the pompous customer that walks in and believes they're the only one there and because they "must" buy groceries, someone has to pay and why not take it out on the employee! You're better than them, so it's ok to go in and treat them worse than your dog because that's how you feel important in the world. Complaints "in house" are useless. Don't think that they could change staffing themselves as I know they would. Call the 1-800 number and air your griefs with them. They allocate the hours not the store. And when you do, mention that one employee you liked and focus any anger to those above them who handle the hourly budgets! Not the employee. They're doing all they can to please customers. You're no help by being difficult and trying to ruin their days read more

Giant Eagle has: Dreary depressing decor, Dirty floors, Inconvenient checkout Unhelpful staff Overpriced products and has somehow found a way for their fruit to go from rock hard to rotten--never ripe. awful service. went there for a pound of fish, got a kid in back who pointed to another employee and said "you'll have to wait for him to do it." (you're not qualified to cut fish?) 6-7 minutes later, the 2nd guy puts a huge piece on the scale that's 1.7 pounds and grunts "Close enough?" I say no, actually, I wanted a pound, can you cut that down? He gives a huge sigh of disgust and barks "If I do that, I'll have a second piece that I can't sell." A) not my problem B) the ENTIRE REASON YOU HAVE A JOB is to cut things down to whatever size the customer wants. If all we're going to do is just buy whatever size and shape is there, why would they need you? end result: I told him to forget it and walked out, never to return. nice job. read more

Stopped shopping there a year ago. Heinens in Avon is our favorite. Giant Eagle should take some service lessons from them.

The produce is rotted. The employees are rude and when you contact the management, they say it's not there problem. Completely worthless

This is the only "grocery" store near us. I try NOT to have to shop there. There are never baggers (when purchasing $200 of groceries every week or so, I shouldn't have to bag it all too!). The produce is NEVER fresh. I have even seen rotting avocados sitting out and they think somebody will buy them... crazy. The worst section of this store is by far the seafood section. Disgusting. I have tried a couple times to buy salmon and shrimp there, upon packaging the items, the clerk warned me that they must be cooked immediately. I ended up smelling the packages before checking out and leaving them in the cooler because they reeked of fish smell. Clearly not fresh seafood. The manager at this location should really get a clue. Once, I was told by a produce guy that I shouldn't pick the berries from the back and take the ones closer to the front, I gave him the stink eye and said if they weren't spoiled I would. What a nightmare grocery store. North Olmsted GE is a little better so I try to stop there instead of the North Ridgeville store. read more
