Another good thing about this Giant is that they sell Ledo's Pizza to bake at home. I usually buy the cheese pizza and buy the toppings from this grocery store. I don't shop here often.( only when in needed something or when it on sale for good price. This place changes a lot. I would say every 5 years. Now they a place pizza call Ledo pizza. The self check out now and the customer service seat swap. The flower shop is now right next to each other. The online pick up is now where the flower shop used to be. This Giant store sells fresh fruit and vegetables that are half rotten by the time you get them home. They put the bad strawberries in the middle of the container, so you won't notice them until you get home. The staff is not helpful or friendly. Much worse Giant than other nicer locations such as Owings Mills. read more

I go grocery shopping at random times throughout the week and this Giant has never been too crowded. The parking lot always has spaces available and their groceries are always in stock. The folks at the bakery were also really nice when I was placing an order for a custom cake. What I really like about their self checkout is that it's limited to 20 items. A lot of times folks will take way too long and this helps reduce that wait. I just recently discovered their app which has a bunch of really good coupons. The only pain is that you have to manually add the coupons to your account. For example, I just used a "Get 5$ off your $30 grocery bill". read more

I wrote review of this giant almost 4 years ago and it's only gotten worse. I will repeat and update what I said in 2020. i have been going to this store off and on (out of necessity) ever since it opened and it is always, without fail, a disappointment. The deli service is slow, the produce and bakery items are over-priced, they invariably have prices either mis-labeled or ring up different than marked or advertised, their baked goods ( breads, eg) are supposed to be one weight but turn out to actually be a lower weight. Many so-called 1/2 price sale items require you to buy two items to get one-free. The pretzels and chips are pretty much all broken in the bags. Their ads are littered with "fine print" that borderline bait and switch tactics. The bakery service is uniquely unfriendly, you will find one person waiting on customers at the deli department and 3 people walking around doing who knows what. When I can, I will go to any other grocery store than this Giant in Clarksville. If you have access to a Harris-Teeter I find them immeasurably better than Giant, price, service, quality, consistency--everything. read more

This is a very large Giant in Columbia. I went it on Friday, 16th Dec. around 11AM - Most aisles are blocked by stocking personnel and their trolleys. Boxes and bags are all over the floors at a very busy time of day. Heavily scattered among shoppers are their absolutely uncaring employees filling orders, blocking access to shelves, and unconscious that there are customers being impeded. Stock is iffy. No cream, whipping cream, and several other items. And a general, long-standing rule is that the organization of the merchandise is completely illogical making it very hard to find anything. Came time to check out. 15 minutes in line. Then the cashier could not figure out what a white onion is. That caused her to have to bring a "manager" over to clear her mistakes from the register, 3 times. That all used up at least another 10-15 minutes. About 5 customers were backed up in line by the time she finally got it right. In fairness to her, the cashier was new, and obviously untrained. I grew up working in grocery stores in every department for about 5 years. What I see here is a store that is utterly and absolutely mismanaged. It was better in the past, so perhaps a competent manager left and was replaced by a wino from a nearby shelter. read more

it is a very fine store and one of the few stores that sells freshly squeezed orange juice. I have rarlely been dissatisfied with anything there and if I am they take returns immediately and don't ask questions. read more

I had the loveliest experience today when leaving Giant in Clarksville. The gentleman (Juan) who was taking care of the carts, met me and helped me load my bags into my car and then proceeded to ask me how my summer had been, if I was traveling again, and then shared his planned trip to Iceland. He told me he was a Special Olympian and how much it meant to him. The entire encounter made me smile. read more

I don't know how many times I've purchased sales items based on shelf sales tags, only to find out at checkout (or later) that the item wasn't on sale, rather, they never took down the sales tags. And avoid their prepackaged items from the deli, as they typically are crap well before their sell-by date. And good luck actually calling anyone in corporate customer service. Specifically want to talk about the pharmacy. Very poor quality and terrible service. Book a vaccine appointment for a certain time and that's not the true time. They make you re-fill the forms you fill out online. And then you wait. When asked they say "oh it's like a doctors office. You want to see the doctor but you wait around for a while til you actually do. Just like a doctor makes you wait." Exact quote by this associate imaged below. As Giant Foods go this is a beautiful neighborhood grocery store. I have been in bigger but this store is clean and spacious. The staff is hot or miss. Some are extremely helpful as you would expect in virtually empty store during the Coronavirus slowdown but others have fallen into bad habits like talking with fellow employees and giving minimum help to customers. But overall the store is very nice. read more

This Giant steals $ from customers! I was charged $4.99 for a pack of chicken nuggets which had a discount price tag of $2.99. I showed the discrepancy to a manger and he said "ooops, sorry". I was charged $2.99. He refused to give me the pack for free (policy of other superstores). Conclusion: If Giant catches you stealing $2, they will call to police but if you catch Giant stealing $2 from each customer, then "ooops sorry, we will not do it any more" read more

A huge, well organized, well presented grocery store with everything you need! This area used to be all farms and woods...and it had been quite a while since I had come through here. With all the new housing spawned the need for shopping. I actually was looking for the Starbucks which was inside the Giant. This is your larger than average grocery store---i'd even go to describe it as expansive. Giant has always been very organized, bright, and "nice" to shop at. I live in west friendship, i'm a fair-skinned afro-american male in his 50s and i've patronized this store only because they carry my fav sparking water (waterloo) and when its on sale it's a great deal for the 12-pack. Most of the employees are courteous towards me and don't treat me like I'm a taliban member but TWICE I've had incidents where female afro-american employees were totally rude to me, one middle-aged brown-skinned cashier with reddish dreds didn't even speak to me as I checked out in her lane yet she warmly greeted the white woman after me as I was walking away, didn't utter ONE WORD and then today I was in the rear at the deli looking for the day-old bread rack (where the baked items baked yesterday are sold at very reduced prices) and I found some items reduced in a cart in front of the bread area and as I was looking through the items, this afro-american female 40ish brown-skinned employee interrupted me with a harsh "excuse me that's for the food bank" and practically snatched the cart away from me. I apologized and said there wasn't a sign. She said "i know, i know", as if I were the one who mistakenly left the cart there and as she walked away with the cart I said "thats a very nice thing your doing" talking about giving the food to the food bank and no response. It took every fiber of my polite side not to get real black up in there. I'm waiting until tomorrow when i'm fully cooled off to call the manager to share my experience. I don't know if the employees are legacy or union members and feel they're protected or what, but I've decided to go without the sparkling water if it means I have to suffer intra-racial discrimination. Ugh! I typically shop in Mt. Airy or Eldersburg where professionals treat customers properly, without any regard to skin color. read more

Great location, helpful staff, I love the guys in the deli and seafood market! Be careful, the parking lot can get packed at anytime during the weekend and around 5:00pm on weekdays. More then once I've gone home with expired food so be sure to get that milk that's in the waaay back! Lines can be long sometimes and the self checkout always seems to have an issue with me. If you live in the area definitely get a bonus card, you get discounts at the Shell gas station by Glenelg, I've gotten it down to 99 cents for premium! read more

I work in the shopping center. I often come by here for lunches and things I may need to pick up for dinner. I LOVE there produce selection, everything is always so fresh. The staff members are very friendly. The salad bar is fresh and always clean. Did I mention that I am getting my wedding flowers from this location. There floral department is supurb. I went in the store after I left the gym this morning to pick a few items. I used the self-checkout but needed some help with their system. The clerk who came was rude, nasty and condescending. She was also yelling through the store at someone about some issue they were having. I am so glad Wegman's will be opening soon so I can avoid this place. The poor customer service far outweights any convenience that might be associated with stopping in for quick pickups after the gym. My money is too valuable to be used to reinforce this behavior. I hope Miss Nasty clerk gets fired soon. read more

Horrible Service! Called ahead of time to confirm they had item, as it was an emergency. I spoke with customer service and I was assured the item was in stock. I arrived 10 minutes later to find they DID NOT have the item. No one to whom I could complain in Customer Service. Last time that I will shop there! Wasted time and effort. This is not the first time this has happened but truly had an emergency this time. I asked several times and even asked them to walk to aisle to confirm it was in stock before going to store. They obviously lied and never checked the aisle. read more
