I'm home recovering from surgery so I ordered a rotisserie chicken amongst other things in a grocery order via Uber Eats. Either they don't offer more than one flavor or the app isn't updated with the options. So I get the basic chicken. Rotisserie, no. Baked, yes. But baked well, no. It's lightly baked and it's dry, tough although supposedly just made that morning. Like, it's yellow, not even brown. Seasoned, no. It's just chicken. The skin was not even edible. It was tough.. kinda muscular like. It was the blandest hospital grade protein in the world. I eat it with bbq sauce. The flavor & texture is so off that my body rejects it. I try again the next day, same. Just thrown up. This is not real chicken. I don't know who sources it but this is not real. I knew I was taking a chance since I get my protein from a small local farm but this... straight in the trash. I ended up eating can of sardines. Imagine having abdominal surgery with difficulty walking, ordering a chicken to eat off of for a few days and get sent something completely inedible clearly made from a 3D printer. So it requires you to get up and move around more and figure out a new plan of action... mind you, you are already on disability so funds are low. It should be illegal to sell food like that. read more

This was my first time at this Harris Teeter. In Columbia for another reason, we decided to stop here instead of our usual in Severna Park, and while we're still partial to our "home" store, this one was organized, clean, full of produce and our cashiers were incredibly fast and exercised teamwork in ways that I rarely see. They bagged our groceries so fast the Wife and I literally talked about it halfway into our journey home. Great job. read more

FLORIST review: got mothers day flowers, a lovely but very small (for the price) bouquet. Attached was a crumpled unevenly cut piece of copy paper with a message but NO information on who sent it. Upon reaching the florist to see who I should thank I was told basically "here is the 800 number for ftd". then end. So ftd pays harris teeter to handle the sale, right? Harris teeter is responsible for bringing flowers with a normal small card or note and including the name of the person who sent it. Your response is figure it out yourself through ftd? Not great customer service. And a really tiny bouquet for the price. read more

I'm a regular here at Harris Teeter. The meat department keeps bringing me back. Everybody there is willing to help and give you valuable information regarding different types of cuts. The sushi at this location is definitely high quality and tasty. Overall I'm a satisfied customer. read more

This used to be my favorite store what happen?! Out of broccoli and other things I purposely came to get to make a recipe and produce guy was so stinking rude when I asked him if they had any. I have been going to this particular Harris Teeter for 11 years. They have always honored the sale prices when the sign is left up after the sale expired . today I was told. That they do not honor it as they ripped the sign down so no one else would purchase and I was also told that in order to get half off I needed to buy both items. Its no longer half if you buy one. read more

This store has really went downhill. Went in this morning and meat selection was scarce at best. Went to check out and had 12 people waiting in just 2 lines. Those two cashiers were doing everything while 3 people with maroon shirts (probably managers) sat behind the customer service desk playing on their phones. Prices are designed for that 20% now floating the US economy. Used to be you paid a little extra for the HT customer care that remains in decline especially in produce and certainly express checkout --- The person who is most often there now is an aggressive person who came close to picking a fight with me over an item that was mis marked -- even going so far, (as I pushed back in defense of the lower price adjustment), to march back to bakery, retrieve the item in question, and slam it on the register's side counter to show me how "wrong" I was. I'm sure HT stockholders would be proud of her. I think traces of the Pandemic persist -- you can feel employee resentment and irritability in the air -- even profiling -- I overheard two employees vocally sharing observations about a customer they perceived to be a shoplifter. I'm just not wealthy enough to put up with attitude and high prices no matter how convenient the store is. read more

Not only is this the worst Harris Teeter I've been too, but it's one of the worst grocery stores in the area, easily. Every time I've been here, things are consistently out of stock, and despite the 8 check out lanes, only 1-2 people are ever working them, causing the self checkout lane to perpetually be endless. Every. Time. I figured after a year or so things might improve, but quite the opposite. This is what I get for not just going to Wegmans as usual. Only go here if a quick, easy trip to the grocery store is something you loathe. read more

It's sad how much this place has gone downhill in the last 7-8 years. There used to be samples (which i'm sure went the way of the VCR when Covid came around), there used to always be someone at the cheese counter helping you find the perfect cheese to purchase for your taste. There used to not be so many locked-up products, there used to be more cashiers working (now it's impossible to ever use cash since it's almost all self check out here), there used to be better food options and more in stock consistently. It's sad to see a place like this snowball so hard. I can't even say it's a reliable or consistent grocery store but I'm giving it 3 stars because I'll still come occasionally for certain snacks; I think they need some new management or something honestly and I'm still holding out hope for the em to get better but yeaaa. read more

Welp this is my new go-to Harris Teeter. At first, it took a little getting used to as I'm accustomed to the layout of the Severna Park location. Harris Teeter has grown to be my favorite grocery store in Maryland because they have a great selection of items for a great price. When I first started shopping at Harris Teeter, the prices seemed to be a little more Wegmans level but I've come to realize that if you pay attention to the circular, they have some really good deals especially compared to other grocery stores here. I recommend signing up for their Vic and e-Vic program for extra savings. Sometimes they even give you things for free on your Vic card. I usually use self checkout but the staff I've encountered at the door and within the aisles have been courteous and friendly. I also like that this Harris Teeter is literally right in the neighborhood for some...right in the middle of a quiet residential area. I always seem to get there at the best times because I haven't encountered a packed parking lot or long lines yet. I found another Harris Teeter to love! read more

I hate going in a grocery store where I'm made to be like a thief. Self service the cashiers speak if your white especially the young women thats currently at the self service line. Doesn't part her lips to say hello at all just frowns and walks around you like your stealing. Im very uncomfortable at self service. But I also hate going to the cashiers because all the ones I had are rude. You already have cameras posted in our faces Im sure that would already detour potential criminals but walking behind me watching my every move is insane & its only towards the black people because i watch how the other customers are treated. Popped in to see what Columbians (is that what locals to Columbia are called?) have for their Harris Teeter. We have Teeter in Charlotte and it's the best shopping. This shop is also very good. Clean, bright, wide aisles, clearly marked prices, lots of open registers with very short queues, all the carts work and there aren't any carts in the parking lot. It's not as good as *my* Harris Teeter for reasons, but as Teeter's go, this is a very good one. :-) read more

Harris Teeter is still ahead of the curve of cleanliness and service among supermarkets in Columbia, but not by much. It used to be far better all around. There is clearly heavy reliance on their self-checkout kiosks. Customer service has taken a hit; it seems like employees are hard to find, especially up front at the service desk. Very strong pharmacy section. Staff are intelligent, courteous, and well-informed. Their shift to Kroger's system was a disaster, but they've since recovered. Excellent "organics" section, and a solid "international" section. Barring specialty stores, this is the best place for vegetarians to shop for food. Prices are high (and in some cases ridiculous), even for the area, but occasionally a sale will pop up and make things hurt a little less. For 'staple' foods, go to Target. For everything else, Harris Teeter is fine. read more

This used to be THE store in Columbia. The employees were friendly, greeted you cheerfully no matter where you were in the store, had ample checkout lanes always open, was clean, well stocked, and reasonably priced. ALL OF THAT IS GONE. Today, 11-14-23, I turned away from many products I usually buy because the prices were absurd. A pound of yesterdays fried chicken -- $10.00. Yep. I usually buy it for my dog, but no more. Many items were absurdly over priced. The only open checkout lane was being operated by someone from central America who spoke no English, had NO training, and simply had no business there. I tried the self-check machines. They were broken...not operative. Went back to the line and after another 10 minutes or so an large woman took over with great anger on her face. She did check me out quickly, tossing my items down the belt to the previous checker who had been relegated to bagging. She was no better at bagging, clumsily tossed random items in the bags, all while the checkout woman gave me continuous glares of utter contempt. After all, I was not happy and my face probable said so. One smile, one friendly word in English, would have made all the difference, but these people do not care. Not in the least. The sad truth is, that while this store is largely unstocked, dirty, and manned by people who hate customers, the same is true of ALL Grocery stores in this sanctuary city, another dumping ground for illegal and incompetent foreigners who have no idea how to do anything. read more

Always a great location to come to. I am a little bummed out they they aren't open 24 hours anymore. When working overnight it was great to stop in for one of their pre made sandwiches. They stay open until 11 pm and open up at 6 am though. Never have had a crown when I have been here. Always clean and have fully stocked shelves. read more

Staff has always been helpful and friendly, I've had the bread department recommend bread, the bakery bring out more everything bagels just for me, and the store manager routinely says hello. Bulk/dry goods are pricier than your Giant, Target, Walmart, or Costco therefore I stick to produce, bread, meats/cheeses (their store brand deli meats/cheeses are delicious), FRESH orange juice, whole wheat pizza dough, frozen acai (have a hard time finding this elsewhere), store brand ice cream, and sale items. read more

I came in to pick up a few items on my WIC list, cheese, eggs, and some apple juice. I grab some other items I wanted to try, I just wanted a quick trip in and out. My lil one (1.5 yr old) asleep in the stroller needing a diaper change::: just the back story, I went to self checkout to be a lil faster, but the machine did not let me use my WIC card a young lady came to help but had to search for her manager to cancel the order, he came cancelled it and then she asked me to go to a check out line. The lady at the check out sent me back to her, the you g lady tried to check me out on her screen but couldn't, I had to go to customer service to RE-SCAN my items and check out. At this point we are all annoyed, I wasn't able to put my number in for the other items I had, which the only reason I bought was because they were on special. I had to return to customer service and return the item. All this could had been prevented if the staff both were trained better and cared to even learn. At the end of this ordeal my lil one was awake and I wasted 10min trying to figure this situation out. I Will Not be returning. read more

I was excited to see that my parents finally got a decent grocery store in Columbia, Being from Denver, we have grocery stores every other block and most of the time they compete pretty hard for your business. In Columbia that is not the case --- super markets are few and far between. This Harris Teeter location has a good selection of produce and offers samples of some of their products. The service is usually pretty good and the lines don't seem to get too long (even when busy). Overall -- probably one of the better locations in Columbia. read more

We love, love HT!! What an awesome customer service, not only at the Customer Service desk, but at the deli, pharmacy and register. Vic card process was very cool, scanning your DL and entering your info on the screen. It was very easy and you get your card right away. The Deli carries Boars Head, which we really like. Ryan was very polite and helpful. He had my husband try the ham and cheese before slicing, making sure that we liked what we wanted. Brandon at the pharmacy was helpful as well. Answered all our questions about switching/transferring our prescriptions. We are all set. My first stop was to Starbuck, of course. I need my coffee while I shop. Great customer service, too. Kenaya was at our register and she was helpful and very friendly. Prices are great and we loved it all! read more

Harris Teeter is a great grocery store. Compared to the local Giant that I end up going to because I'm lazy, this Harris Teeter is superior in every way. HUGE produce section. Great selection of meats. They have an awesome deli section and always put out some samples. The salad bar is ok and they have a small selection of typical Chinese take food. They do have sushi that is made fresh everyday that is excellent. You wont have to worry about getting butt pee because it's not fresh. The guys will even make it for you while you wait if you want. Be sure to have your VIC card though to get the savings. read more

I generally like The Columbia Harris Teeter, but I just had a bad experience at their Seafood section. There's a worker there named Quentin that was very impatient and rude to me as I was ordering shrimp. He first ordered me to "speak up", and then rolled his eyes at me when I tried to clarify what I wanted. He's also has been rude in the past. Most of the employees there are polite, but I just wanted to make people aware of this. read more

A 24 hour supermarket. This is as American as you can get. The only thing that would make it more so is if I walked in in a college sweatshirt and pajama bottoms. Fortunately, I didn't. But in my normal clothes I did pick up some meats, cheeses, grapes, and fancy crackers for an office potluck platter the next day. The prices were ok. Lower than a Whole Foods, but higher than Target. The staff are pretty nice. Clean, large, well-stocked. It's a peaceful place to be around midnight after a long day. read more

Express Lane is horrible. There is an issue more times than not (waiting longer than it would take to get the groceries myself, groceries being forgotten). I understand mistakes happen but there shouldn't be a problem almost every time I use the service. I used Express Lane in another city before I moved to Columbia and never had these issues at this frequency. Please either hire more help or figure out why you are so disorganized. read more

A big grocery store thats open 24/7. Some items here are pricier than their counterparts. But other items are cheaper also. It all depends on what you're looking for. And sometimes the deals/discounts they have going on are amazing! Buy 2 bags of shrimp and get 3 free?! 1 pound of Snow Crab Legs for 3 bucks?! Whenever they have a sale going on, you need to check them out! The people that work there are always friendly and helpful. Just about any food or ingredient you are looking for, Harris Teeter has it. From popular brand names to generics. You wont be disappointed in finding what you need there. I LOVE this store. I occasionally go out of my way to run over here. They have a good selection of everything. Deli department always has good deals and and everything I've had has always been very delicious and fresh! In their bakery, I love the take & bake French loaves! And they have fresh pizza dough (white and wheat!) to make pizza with--awesome! Pharmacy--I love this pharmacy! Very efficient, rarely a line. I've never had to wait very long. Also while other pharmacies in the area don't always have everything I need, HT does! And they make it very easy to transfer a prescription over. Thanks HT for being awesome! read more

The prices are fair, cheaper for some organic harris teeter brands, but still yummy! Only downside was there were TONS of people stocking when I was in there and it got annoying trying to dodge them! Boy do I miss Wegmans. One of two things I miss about Rochester, NY (Dibella Subs is the other...even though Wegmans offer the "same" subs...the original subs in Rochester is still better). I agree with Jane S. that Harris Teeter is the closest thing to Wegmans that I've been into. Even though I have a Safeway 5 minutes away, I find myself in this place quite often which is 15-20 minutes away. Another reason why I don't mind coming to this plaza is because of Trattoria E Pizzeria Da Enrico. Very good pizza and pasta. The liquor store in the same plaza is pretty good also. read more

I really like Harris Teeter (nicknamed by my friend's sister Hairy Teat. Come on, it's funny) probably because it's on the way to my friend's house. Since it's open 24 hours, we've stopped in for late night ice cream runs or grabbing some water and snacks before hitting the clubs in DC. The large extensive grocery store has everything you need for your grocery shopping and a mini Starbucks to give you energy to walk around the huge store. Sometimes, I need a map for the place, but I liked wandering grocery stores so I'm okay with it. Along with groceries, they have a very good beauty/skincare section carrying Alba, Burt's Bees, and Bumble and Bumble products so you don't have to trek all the way to Roots or a salon to pick up little things. Also, one time I was on a hunt for dried procini mushrooms, which is rather specific, but I literally went to 3 grocery stores before I found it at Harris Teeter. Keep in mind, it can get pretty crowded and hectic around 5 or so when people get off work. The best time to shop, in my opinion, is after 9 when no one else is around so you can take your time and you don't have to worry about a crowd. read more

Recently moved to the area and this is the closest grocery. Normally I don't shop Harris Teeter but since it's close I come here a lot more often. It's a pretty standard store so I won't waste your time (though you are reading a review for a super market so ...) and get to the best parts of this store. It's OPEN 24 HOURS 7 DAYS A WEEK! Definitely important to know for those late night snack runs and last minute lunches. Also I have used them a few times to cater for parties and they have been excellent! Chicken tenders go over really well with everyone. Their bakery is up for anything and Lisa was very helpful. This past weekend I hosted a retirement party for my father who served over 25 years as a police officer. As a joke instead of cake I ordered 75 donuts for the party. The bakery made and hand decorated all the donuts! Everyone loved them, the donuts were huge and stayed delicious and fresh. Guess how much 75 donuts cost me? $30 DOLLARS! This fact alone may make this my favorite store ever! read more

Well, I'm no longer shopping at Harris Teeter in Kings Contrivance and it makes me sad. Seriously, no exaggeration... from the front door to the meat counter, which is maybe 30 yards, I encountered 4 employees with their nose out of their mask and 3 others with the mask either in their hand or around their chin. This included the butcher (around his chin) working with raw meat. I went to the customer service counter to talk about my concern, nose also out. I spoke with the store manager. She advised that some people have medical exceptions to not wear the mask. 70% of your employees have a medical exception? I asked her to take a walk with me. We didn't make it 30 feet and ran into multiple employees not wearing their masks over their nose. I let her know that it isn't a medical exception, but a culture problem of a management staff that is not concerned about their employee or customer health and safety. I sadly walked out and let her know that I will not return. The crazy part is, she didn't seem to care. And hence, lies the problem. read more
