Clean and neat, has everything I need, the produce is fresh, and it's never hard to find parking.

We tend to shop later in the day when it's less people and it makes grocery shopping so much more enjoyable lol this place has 2 car electric car changing stations which earned it an extra star rating for me. But overall the grocery store is well kept and organized. The people are also pretty nice. It's a really big store with lots of selections. read more

Recently moved from RI to DC and came to Giant because of the convenience of this supermarket being so close to our place. There is nothing spectacular or horrible about this supermarket. It generally seemed clean, produced section appeared like nothing visibily spoiled (pet peeve at a supermarket is visibly spoiled food) and the staff was pleasant, friendly and attentive. I may go here again, but I think I'll try other local supermarkets as well. read more

Shout out to the employees of this store for: 1.) Still coming to work in this time of crisis, confusion, and quarantine 2.) Somehow managing to be kind, proactive, and exceedingly helpful despite these trying circumstances 3.) Maintaining well-stocked shelves (unlike all the other nearby stores) 4.) Having many of the hard to find items in stock, including toilet paper, paper towels, and *Lysol (*When I came into the store a few days ago, they only had two cans of spray Lysol and about a dozen containers of the store brand wipes in stock. When I walked past the aisle again a few minutes later, there was a young man restocking the Lysol spray. I should have stocked up when I had the chance, as they're almost impossible to find now, even at this store). 5.) Making sure that they always have sanitizing wipes at the door for customers to use. The staff at this store has really taken an all-hands-on-deck approach to ensuring that the community is provided for during this time of confusion and uncertainty. This store has so many of the items that I've been looking for... even non-essential items that are impossible to find in other stores. The staff are all over the store, constantly and consistently restocking and refilling shelves as quickly as possible to make sure that customers have what we need. And I greatly appreciate that this store is not price gouging customers and willfully taking advantage of them during this time. Thanks for all you do, guys! We really appreciate you! read more

Ugh, this place it's nuts This is the closest grocery store to my house and I used to go at least once or twice a day, for the last couple of times either they were tired of seem me there too many times or whatever was, they were looking at me as if I was there to steal anything or don't know what the heck is going on.. If they think someone is stealing they should have a person to check bags and receipts, I don't need to steal an apple or a cabbage, But guess what, I didn't like that and I won't be back to you, my money is green and it's acceptable in every other store. I have been a community of Riggs Park for over 25 years. I go to this giant at least once a week. EVERY SINGLE week there is a short older women with gray hair that manages the self check out line. Without fail, this women stares me down and makes sure I scan every item as if I am going to steal something. The stare is so uncomfortable and intense that I can feel her starring behind my back. I asked her what her name was and she said rudely she didn't have a name. It was like she knew she was wrong for starring. Her name tag began with a "P". read more

I usually don't write reviews unless I had a really terrible experience or the best experience ever! And yesterday 1/24/23 around 9am I had the very best experience at this giant location! I came here on Monday to get fruit for my little one for school then I came on Tuesday to get food for the house. When I tell you everyone was super friendly and helpful I mean EVERYONE! From the people putting up the produce, the deli counter, seafood department, the cashier. This was the absolute best staff I have ever encountered and as a customer I appreciate that! read more

I came. I saw. I bought stuff. And it was spectacular. Came in, easily found my heart's desire, no line at the self-checkout and was out in less then 5 minutes. Perfect! The only associate I interacted with had a name tag that said "Daryl." He was terrific. He absolutely dazzled me with his knowledge and presentation of the history and varieties of Greek yogurt -- including the biological processes that make each one unique. [Okay I totally made that last part up but Daryl was friendly, polite and very professional -- an excellent reminder of why I don't shop at Safeway.] Thank you Darryl for being everything a grocery store associate should be and thank you Giant for an excellent shopping trip. read more

I went to Giant to purchase a few items one of which was a package of bottled water. Upon check out, I included my phone for the discount of which all but one showed up. The cost of the water did not change so I alerted the cashier to the price advertised. The cashier with all gray hair pulled back refused to believe that the price would be $4.49 instead of $4.99 or $3.99, but she did give me the discount. She went as far to say that it has never been that price, even though the tag was posted. She did not want my daughter or I to take a picture, I believe that she was embarrassed and too prideful to be proven wrong. Needless to say, while in the parking lot I felt belittled and decided to report the incident to the manager. Upon entering the store, I see that the cashier was now working at the customer service center, I then gathered that she was now serving in the management capacity. Likewise, I went to the aisle to take a picture of the tag for the water and it had been removed. I now totally believe that she hates to be proven wrong. read more

This Giant is never busy and if you want to get in and out with your groceries fast then I would come here. This place was clean, well stocked and everyone was actually very friendly. I was happy to see a good selection of gluten free products here which many of the other giants near this location do not have. That being said, if you eat any vegan foods, this giant does not carry anything vegan (I'm talking about packaged products) such as daiya cheese or enjoy life brand. Otherwise I've got no complaints about this place! read more

I realized this Giant is closer to me than Columbia Heights so I decided to give it a try. I kind of wish I hadn't bothered; it's small, disorganized and crowded. The random sour smell I kept getting wafts of as I waited in line for 20 minutes made me glad I wasn't buying too many perishables. Note-They don't carry cage-free eggs. read more

Been shopping here for years. It's always stocked. It is smaller than other Giants in the area. Removing a few stars because it does have a smell is kinda dirty and some of the produce isn't good. Lines are also very long. But this Giant has always been there for me. read more

They have recently renovated this Giant and it looks nicer and things are organized better. However, last time I was there, I noticed that some of their items have increased in price. I guess they have to pay for their renovations, but it was a bit of a surprise. For the size of this store, their departments (e.g., bakery, flower, meat) are small but they do have a great hot bar with fried and comfort foods. read more

This is the closest grocery store to me and half of NE DC apparently. It is always crowded and I only come here if I am being lazy. The person working at customer service on my recent visit couldn't be bothered to stop her conversation with a fellow employee to help me. The other employee was the departing customer service desk employee who looked at me when I said "excuse me" & kept on talking. read more

Besides the crotch sniffing shopping cart clean-up man who works outside, but will follow you inside of the Giant, most of the stores employees are very nice,but not knowledgeable about most products besides the aisle they're located. Some products seem tampered with, but the employees seem to look out for things like that. read more

This store SUCKS big time! The employees are not very friendly at all. They don't greet and they act as if you are bothering them when you need to ask a question. On several occasions I have bought spoiled meat unbeknownst until I get home. read more

The is the worst Giant I have very been in. Not only is everything setup in a counter intuitive manner it is barely handicap accessible. The ceiling in this store is oddly lowered which adds to a feeling of clostorphobia adding to the overall tiny isles. read more

Why is it so hard to fill a prescription at this location... I feel i have made every effort with the staff here... I call ahead of time to check the status of my prescription it will be filled in 45 minutes...i give an additional hour on top of the 45 minutes....and still have to wait an additional 30 minutes...because the staff has not yet process my prescription.......smh read more

Are there things I'd like to improve? Sure. Is the service and customer care so good that I still give it 5 stars, of course. I don't get there often to know people by name, but they remember me and let me know of offers that apply to my purchases while at the register. read more
