I am not from this area but was here for a meeting. As I was driving down the road, I spotted this store & decided to see what they had to offer. Since it was close to lunch time, I decided to pick up some food. When I entered the store, I found myself in the produce section, I picked up an apple & banana. As I walked back there was the deli & was disappointed that they only had premade sandwiches, so I opted for the fried chicken. I continued to walk thru the store to find the bakery section. So many sweet treats to choose from but was undecided on what to bring to the meeting. I asked the lady if she had any suggestions. She gave me quite a few good choices one of which was the doughnuts. The chicken was average & had I know there was a Wawa down the road I would have got my sandwich. The doughnuts were delicious, I had a glazed one. Better than Dunkin. I like to say the store was very clean, the lady in the bakery was super helpful & the cashier at self-checkout was very friendly. Also, the man in the deli was nice. I wish I would have got their names but if it's any help I was there on January 22nd at about 11am. This is only the 3rd time I have been in a Giant and of the 3 this was the best. read more

I've lived here in Blue Bell for many years and seen many a supermarket in this location. Giant supermarket has been an unpleasant shopping experience for years. I don't shop here often because the customer service has always been poor. So many employees seem unhappy and not even willing to look at you. I think it might be a good idea to remind your employees they work in the service industry (as do I) and therefore they need to exhibit better people skills. It's not for everyone but as you continue to hire employees in the future you may want to take note of hiring people who are willing to provide basic customer service !!!! read more

One of the largest grocery store chains in the region, Giant competes well with Acme for the merchandising middle ground between quality and price, but not in the same class as Wegman's, nor Whole Foods. Yet, it may have found the sweet spot that allows it to survive in hard times and modestly prosper in good. This outlet on DeKalb Pike in Blue Bell, PA, can stock your pantry, fridge and medicine cabinet with almost everything you need, even if not everything you yearn for. We stopped in recently while in the area for hair styling, hoping to pick up a few things there rather than drive the 30 minutes back home and then stop at our local Giant, when we were hungrier and didn't feel like making that detour closer to dinner. Actually newer than our regular shop, and a touch larger, we discovered that its layout was different than we were used to, and thus slower to cruise through as we searched for our needs. The space was clean, with special attention given to their extensive salad bar and back of the shop deli/bakery and the organic section of their their produce department. Found what we needed in the personal care aisle and bakery, and slid through checkout in a minute. Considered grabbing a roast chicken, but there were not available at the moment. Will probably get that on the next visit to Costco. read more

This Giant location is closest to my home so I visit it most often. The layout is pretty typical of most grocery stores and has all the essentials. I find that their discount/clearance section on the back seems a bit more abundant than other stores. It's otherwise a convenient in terms of groceries. What I dislike about Giant is the inconsistency of their app, which is probably one of the worst I've used. Sometimes the reward offers that you can claim for 5 points don't show up on the app, and only on the parent website, so you have to check both whenever you want to look for the rewards. Secondly, sometimes if they advertise things that you can purchase in the weekly ad and you purchase all the required items, your app still won't reward you the points. I usually have to go to customer service with the items and receipt to show that I should've earned those points. It's a very frustrating process just to earn the points advertised. Overall, store at at this location is great, but a big pain point across the board is the app and even the employees agree the app is horrible. read more

I don't have a problem with the staff... they always seem nice. What I have a problem with is their inability to keep things consistently in stock. I've lived in the area for over 10y now and I frequent this Giant less and less because almost every time I go there... even if it's for only 2-3 things... SOMETHING I want is out of stock. If I need sliced pepperoni and diet Swiss tea... the tea is out of stock. If I need ice cream and ramen noodles... beef is out of stock. If I need pork roll and eggs, the pork roll is out of stock... It's so frustrating because I always have to drive to another store to get the one thing I'm missing which is such a waste of my time. This isn't just a once or twice thing... it's been like this for a decade. Easily 2 out of 3 visits I'm leaving the store without something I would have bought if it was in stock. I only go into this store to get Dougnuts at 6:30 am.. When I found it, I would go daily. No issues with the dougnuts, they are delicious. They have two men with beards making them.. One with Blonde redish hair and beard...The other has black hair and a black beard... The lighter color hair individual was rude the one morning..after he saw me upset, he offered to put out dougnuts a la carte...asked me abruptly what I wanted... He made them..some stuffed some with chocolate frost..they fused together in the box...I was not happy... Did the same thing again a few days later... and This morning he had two treys of dougnuts not in the display .. I asked to please put them in the display for me to get to them... he said they would out there eventually.. as if he would put them out when he wanted..not because I was asking... I am a very kind and calm person.. I am also Military and have respect for other and addressed them as Sir or Mam... I asked how high I can jump when serving my clients... I walked away angry..I even cursed out loud.. it took me a few minutes to regain my composure.... What a liability for the store this person is... I am Latino..was is that why he treated me like that?!! The other Gentleman with the Black beard has the dougnuts out by 6 am when they're supposed to be out... Great job to Him..and the lady that also works there is nice... She was looking at that rude guy as he handled me... I don't think She is a Manager as She said nothing... If not for the fact that the location of this store is very convenient to me I would never go to it. The awful and pervasive smell has been there for years. I keep hoping the next time I run in there it will be gone, but it isn't. I recently asked an employee why it smells the way it does. This is a generally good supermarket, and the best overall grocery store in the neighborhood. Good selection, reasonable prices, and above average customer service. For standard grocery shopping in the Blue Bell/East Norriton area, this is the place to do it... Anyplace else is either somewhat more expensive or is considerably worse in some way that's important for a supermarket. They have good produce at better-than-most prices. Their Nature's Promise brand is consistently less expensive than the big brands and consistently cheap. Their brand of lunch meats is also pretty solid. For affordable routine baked goods, their bakery is now (since SuperFresh closed) the best in the area, it has a few standout items (like the layer cake with lemon filling), and it has good breads and better bagels (bagels are an area where some nearby competitors are particularly weak). Their "natural foods" section covers a lot of bases with good products at reasonable prices. The new beer area has plenty of options. They're a little weak in their prepared foods offerings, but the to-go sushi is pretty good, the sandwiches are decent, and they have both store-prepared heat at home meals that are good and Blue Apron/Plated style cook-at-home kits that are awesome. You can find better prepared foods sections at other nearby stores (e.g. McCaffreys and Weiss), you can get a better meat and cheese section for a higher price (McCaffreys) or at a distance (Wegmans) or both (Whole Foods). There are places that sell a few staples cheaper (Aldi). And, so, if you're looking for one particular thing, you might find someplace better for that, if you like spreading your shopping across a half dozen plus stores, you wouldn't buy every item at Giant... but Giant is unique in being pretty good at everything, so if you want a one-stop-shop or want to pick something up without having to research the " right place" for that item, this is the place to go. I had some trouble trying to get the discount when checking out, but that was the manufacturer's fault, not the store's. The store is clean and a good size. The good news is that the pharmacy was open on New Years Day, and all went well there. The bad news is that except for the pharmacy, masks for both staff and customers were few and far between. Made me wonder, are these people oblivious to the hospitalizations? People are still getting infected, and many still get sick.... some die. Long time customer. What kind of of a rip off is the latest iteration of their "rotisserie chicken"? It's a 30 oz (ie 1 lb 14 oz) pigeon or seagull that is barely even identifiable as a bird of any kind. Hard to find one with two (2) legs and breast intact. Put all the "organic" labels on it you want: its a JOKE. Oh, and its now $6.00 + tax. super di duper. Just picked up a 3 lb 15 oz rotisserie chicken at Costco. IT IS $5.00 + tax and actually tastes GOOD. It has two (2) legs and is identifiable as a chicken. It is just as "organic" as whatever that thing giant is selling, which now tastes like roadkill. I had a much better experience with Giant this trip. I was able to find what I needed and the frozen meals were actually all fully stocked on the shelves this time. I did not do the self check out this time (that is a nightmare), but the staff member who helped us check out was friendly and we got out of there pretty quickly. There are still some of the same problems though, the entire store is dirty and it's very hard to find prices because of all the deal and sale papers that are stuck everywhere. I would still recommend going to Wegmans over Giant, but Giant might be getting there. read more

Long time customer and finally have to write a review saying it like it is. This store doesn't seem to try. While it's general banality is a reflection of top down corporate decisions there is no excuse for the fact that it smells terrible as soon as the automatic doors open and you enter the inside of the store to get your cart. It's disgusting. The floors are often dirty - but the putrid smell of the air suggests a lack of cleanliness everywhere. This is bad public relations for a food market. Are you listening, Giant? This is the Giant near Arch Road and 202 in East Norriton. Salad bar, Hot food bar with decent fried chicken. I come here when I need an inexpensive lunch and am too lazy to pack from home. Not luxurious and the sushi bar is just OK, but it's fine. Glad it's here. Nicer than ShopRite. read more

This store is always clean and neat. The managers say hello when they walk by - nice customer service touch! I just hate the robot that follows me around. He malfunctions and I've seen this many times.. absolutely NOTHING on the floor, but yet it's stopped and alerting all to the danger/peligro afoot (the word for danger in Spanish is peligro). Not to mention he catches me and follows me when I'm shoplifting. JUST KiDDIng!! I do not shoplift, but I think that's the real reason they spent $60k on that hunk of junk. Reading some of the reviews and I guess this Giant will or will not suit you, depending on your needs. For typical everyday grocery shopping, it gets the job done. The size of the market is huge. As soon as you walk in, you have your produce to the right and everything else to the left. There is a fairly sizable organic area, which I think can hold it's own against stores like Whole Foods. There are myriad choices in this section. My favorite section is actually the nuts and candy section. You can bag your own nuts and candy, which are weighed on a scale. You have complete control over the weight, which I like. I appreciate the fact that I don't have to settle for prepackaged trail mix and can make my own right there in the market. Another plus of this store (and all Giant stores actually) is the option of Boar's Head deli meats. To me, Boar's Head tastes the best when it comes to deli meats. The bakery section is also nice. There are nice choices of fresh baked breads that I can't seem to find in other stores. Overall, I will continue shopping at this particular Giant. It is not always the cheapest, but it all depends on what you're shopping for. The customer service is good. I've always been assisted promptly when I had a question or needed to find a particular item. The staff seem to be happy here. Now, I've never shopped here on the weekend. I tend to stop in for a few items during the week after work (between 5pm and 6pm) and it is never crowded. read more

I was the only person waiting for one of the three workers, that were working behind the deli counter, granted we're busy, filling orders that we put in, via kiosk, but none could not find the time to even tell me, I'll be right with you, but all I got was looks, yes they all looked at me, but I waited about 4mins, then walked away, and went about my shopping, even though at that time, I really wanted to just leave the store. read more

AWESOME. I go in here at nights sometimes(cause they're open 24 hours) before a test or a paper is due for my classes, and sit in the cafe area. It is GREAT. The coffee shop is right next to the seating area. Wish they were open later, cause I'd buy coffee there all night while I work. Good coffe, the barista was a little slow on the coffee items they offer, but good cup of coffe. There's also a fire place against the wall (gas fire) that keeps the area cozy and homey. Nice decor and clean also. The greatest part about it...the grocery store is right there. It's in the store, so any snacks, chips, apples, bananas, and all the drinks you need. Oh yea, FREE WIFI. I never thought the best place to do school work would be a super market. And the grocery store is good too, I guess. I've never really thoroughly explored it. read more

This store has really gone downhill. Shelves poorly stocked/missing items every day of the week, at any time of day. Two weeks ago, shoppers could order at the deli counter. Today, there was a group of people trying to order. Not one deli worker would acknowledge any of us, standing there. There was no sign saying, "Kiosk orders, only." Eventually, someone figured out that the deli was only taking kiosk orders. You have an option of indicating the thickness of slices that you want for each deli item. Those options were totally ignored today: You got what they wanted to give you, when they wanted to give it to you. It's almost as though Giant wants people to shop elsewhere. Mission accomplished: I will be shopping only at Weiss, from now on. read more

I have got to tell everyone about this! I went to the Giant supermarket at Township Line and 202 the other night. I was tired and it was late but our dog needed food and so did our family so I figured I would run in and try to get going fast. As I checked out a guy I've seen a million times before helped me get a few items to scan. Anthony has been at this Giant for what seems like forever and I would say a quick hello but sadly never took the time to speak with him or even learn his name. I was in a flat out rush this night, as usual. I appreciated that Anthony came right over, smiling, to help. Little did I know how much help I would need in just a few moments! I went out to the parking lot to load my groceries into my car when I discovered my brand new I-phone was missing. Panic seized me as I had just replaced my previous phone and could not stand losing another huge amount of $$! I ran back in and asked Anthony if he had seen it, he obviously saw I was in a panic and he said calm down we can find it. Then Anthony takes out his personal cell phone and tells me to retrace my footsteps thru the store and he will keep calling it. I retraced my path thru the store but still did not find it. Anthony told me to try the parking lot and then my car and not worry as he will keep calling. Well after a few minutes I found it...in a store bag. I was so very relieved I could have cried. But I realized I found something so much more that evening, empathy, kindness and the willingness to lend a helping hand. Thank you so much Anthony Silvaggio, I hope I have the chance to lend you a hand some day. I hope also that Giant and your store manager Kevin Walsh knows how your actions promote this store. I will never shop anywhere else thanks to you!!! Finally Anthony, I want people to realize that the fabric of society is woven one act of kindness at a time. Today while leaving store, the back of "defective" small cart came open and glass jar of spaghetti sauce came crashing down and broke, cutting my toe in two places. Sauce and glass were all over the place, with sauce on my feet, shoes and pants. A nice young couple asked if I wanted them to get me help. "Store manager" Candy came out totally unprepared for a problem, calling it a boo-boo. Her response was for us to go to my car and asked for my drivers license, while I stood there with sauce all over my legs and shoes and toe bleeding in two places. Not once did she offer any type of first aid or to help to clean me up. She asked ME if I had any wipes in my car to clean up. I asked her to take photos and she waited til I cleaned all the crap and blood off before taking pictures. I had to ask her to retake picture once toe started bleeding again. I then had to ask her to replace my sauce, which she did with three jars. WOW! No apology, no offer for help, just seemed concerned with getting my license for insurance company. Not management material! When I got home I called to complain, and got her on the phone. I told her how unhappy I was how she handled the situation and asked to speak to someone above her. She said she would transfer me to other store manager, but "strangely" phone would ring, dead air, ring again, dead air again for a number of minutes and I finally gave up. Awful way to treat a customer injured by no fault of their own. Only concern shown to me was from the kind black gentleman that cleaned up the mess. read more

I regularly go to this Giant or the one on Chemical Rd. They both have similar problems. The aisles are so packed with miserable employees stocking shelves who have left carts and U-boats full of products sitting everywhere. They're always blocking long sections of items and the employee will see this happening but will do nothing more than give you a dirty look. When I say they're everywhere, I'm talking more than one per aisle. The aisles are already packed with displays and other customers with their carts, but that's expected. The addition of multiple grouchy, careless employees and their carts full of items that, for some reason, need to be stocked every 5 minutes (even though, on every visit, many items I need are somehow out of stock). The produce is always in bad shape. The berries have mold on them, the avocados are pure mush, the tomatoes are inexplicably under-ripe yet have spots all over that indicate rotting. More than once, I've purchased salad mix which, upon inspection of the package, appeared OK but when opened, was actually mushy and brown with brown juice all over and stank. I've learned to check the dates carefully as they cannot be trusted to remove expired products from the shelves. The deli is another story. There are always 3 people behind the counter, but only 1 who is serving customers. The wait is so long because the other 2 employees are standing with their backs facing the customers and simply wiping down the slicers. Does it really take 2 people to wipe down the slicers? And why is this happening constantly?? They must be the cleanest slicers in the world! I've had a few nice cashiers, but I've also encountered some seriously miserable ones. There's one who says nothing even when you smile, say hi... ask how she's doing. Then, god forbid you forget to give her your club card at the beginning of the process! She'll huff in annoyance, roll her eyes and rip the card from your hand. I've encountered another who, when I asked how he was, sighed and scoffed. I said "that kind of day, huh?" and he replied "EVERY day is THAT kind of day!" then he continued to be absolutely miserable while shoving my groceries down the track, smashing many of them. I bagged them and when he was finished there were only a couple of items left to bag and he huffed, made an angry face and shoved them into the bag as if I was putting him out in a major way. I never write reviews about things like this, but I can't believe how awful these stores have become and I felt compelled to get it out there. My suggestion is to just go somewhere else. read more

I love late night shopping, as that's when I get some time away from work :( I think this is the only food store (I know of) in this area that's open 24x7. I only go to Giant these days after I realized that my favorite chips/juice etc is always available here, where as it often go out of stock in other local stores. Of all of the grocery stores in this area (and I have 2 other Giants that are closer) I choose this one because it's the best! The employees are more pleasant, everything is more organized, the aisles aren't cluttered with promotions, everything is always well-stocked and if it's not there, an employee will happily help you find it. Quality of this store has gone downhill over the past few years. In the past, I was able to easily choose from a wide selection of food at reasonable prices any time of day. I have noticed recently that the produce is not as fresh, but more expensive, and the prices of the organic foods are more expensive than Whole Foods. This morning I debated on going to Wegmans or going to this store. I only had to get a few items so I decided on this Giant since it was closer. Big mistake. I have seen on average at least 3 or 4 people shopping around 5 a.m. In the past but today just me. They had all of the store roped off where it was impossible to get to certain aisles and very difficult to get to the register. In my frustration I went under a rope to get soup. I was then berated by a number of people who were supposed to be cleaning the floors but some were just standing around doing nothing. I couldn't even walk out of the closest door because that was blocked off. If they needed to clean the floor they should have closed the store for a few hours. It would have taken less time at Wegmans which is where I will shop for now on. read more
