McCaffrey's overall is very expensive but I have to say their fruit tarts are amazing (this 5/5 rating is for their fruit tarts specifically!! Two of these small 4inch diameter fruit tarts (see photo) are about $14-15 total. A friend once gave me a fruit tart a few years ago and now I dream of these! McCaffrey's is a quality grocery in an easy to access strip mall. There selection is not vast, but they probably have all your needs covered. There prices seem a bit higher than most of a lot of items, however, the quality on the prepared foods makes for overall good value. I find the staff friendly, however, do not see many of them around. However, that has not translated to long lines at the register for me on any of my visits. I am floored. Haven't been to a McCaffrey's in a long time and now that I am aware there is one in Blue Bell this may be my go to supermarket. As you enter you are greeted by a running water design with the logo McCaffrey's in bold print letters welcoming you to a clean and upscale shopping market. Cheese mongers are present that will cut you any slice of cheese you want to try before you purchase your desired block of cheese. My girlfriend and I recently purchased mango cheese, blueberry cheese, blue cheese, and manchego cheese for our new year celebration at home. Now if you really want to go wild they do offer caviar as well for approx $50 dollars however we had purchased our caviar already for overnight delivery from the offical Petrossian website (bucket list item for me). They have a wine and beer section and I must say they have quite a wide variety of beer including Dos Equis Ambar lager, Peroni, and many other speciality import beers. What a lovely supermarket. I really enjoyed those. Prices are definitely comparable to supermarkets around. They had a lot of great brands from store brand to other name brand items some brands that I don't even see in the local ACME. The store is the perfect size. You're not spending hours on end there. McCaffrey's in my opinion has the best meat around. I'm really enjoying their cream cheese pound cake apple fritters and two bite pumpkin muffins. They always have fresh coffee. They carry boars head meat, which is my favorite and the wine selection is good. read more

I went into McCaffreys, for the first time, to order a strawberry shortcake sheet cake, for my friends 50th Birthday party. The girl at the bakery dept asked how I would like it decorated. I explained that my friend is all about Halloween. She loves it. The girl in the bakery dept (I'm so sorry I didn't get her name) told me she had a lot of ideas, and would have fun with it. Would I like her to decorate it with a Halloween theme. To say I was excited, was an understatement! The cake turned out better than I could have ever imagined. It looked so awesome. And tasted SO good!! I got so many compliments all night asking about the cake, and where it was from. I told them all about it! I love this supermarket. My take? It offers the best of Wegman's without the crowds. Customer service gets an A+. The store is clean and well stocked. The parking lot is navigatable, and there is always ample parking. The sushi bar is my favorite spot in the store. McCaffrey's is one of the anchor stores in Center Square Plaza. They're a chain of six locations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. I wasn't expecting much judging by the empty parking lot, but they had a lot of nice features inside. On top of the usual floral, bakery and butcher departments, they also had a cheese shop, small bar, and a big selection of hot and prepared foods. They also do catering as I saw a dedicated office area. We were in search of some flowers and a card and easily found both here. I also peeked at prices on certain items which were scarily 50% lower than back home on Maui. You definitely pay for "paradise"! SERVICE: Cashier service was quick as there were no lines. I don't know where to begin. My wife and I stumbled on this hidden gem in Blue Bell today. It is located in a shopping center at the intersection of route 72 and 202. This market by far is the most beautifully laid out, clean and well stocked market we have ever been to. It rivals the local Whole Food and Fresh Grocer Markets. It shares their high prices but makes up for the quality and care that the items are presented. The market has and excellent floral section with a number of garden items. The bakery department makes beautiful cakes, pastries and bread. The produce department reminded me of the ones I saw in Europe where everything was carefully presented with a number of hard to find items. The meat and seafood departments had first class items. The prepared foods were also carefully arranged with fresh items. The employees were friendly and attentive informative. The store has a full sized Wine and Spirits shop attached directly to it and an amazing beer department which is huge and well stocked. You can get your beer at the bar or wine in the liquor store and enjoy them with food from the prepared area. They publish a seasonal magazine four times a year which are full of recipes and beautiful photos and informative articles that I would gladly pay for but are free. If you get a store card you qualify for credits based on purchases. Senior citizens over 62 get a discount on Tuesday. This is a fantastic store. The recent pandemic has made my usual shopping experience at Chemical Road Giant even more intolerable than usual. Desperate for another option, I tried McCaffrey's. It's smaller and the selection isn't as vast, but the trade off comes in an immaculate store with employees whose helpfulness and courtesy rival Chik Fil A. The shopping experience is calmer and I have yet to come home pissed off (unlike trips to Giant). It's a bit farther and bit more money but the gains in my sanity are worth it! read more

I was first introduced to a McCaffrey's supermarket when one of their locations had a fire in Yardley. I was brought to their store from a job I had and in my ignorance, didn't understand the concept of a gourmet supermarket. This was back in 2004 I think, while I was still a stupid college student, rather than the idiot I am today... I spoke to the owner a bit about his store and what really made their place different. My eyes were opened and I shopped more at the Reading Terminal Market and other places. In the Fall, I noticed that McCaffrey's opened up a supermarket semi-close to home and I wanted to go there. I've never been inside one of these stores with the lights on, so I was curious as to what it was all about. We were at Kohl's this past Sunday and needed a side or two for dinner. I thought, let's go to McCaffrey's. No cart, no basket, let me just grab one or two items and get home. We spent quite a bit of time in this store and bought dinner for last night and tonight. There was a wine/beer section, Buffet, freshly baked foods, and what looked like a pub. The seafood and meat selections had a variety of foods that my local stores don't carry. We bought vegetables, produce, meats, fish, and some drinks. I eyed up a lot of cuts of meat that had a decent enough look that I would like to smoke during the summer. There are six grocery stores that I patronize now, but only three of them I travel to regularly. My wife might actually get me to go to Kohl's/Homegoods even more now to stop by McCaffrey's. read more

Tiny parking lot (hard to maneuver), nice clean store, friendly staff. Meat section was okay. However, this place is just a glorified Wawa designed to look like a high-end Whole Foods. The aisles with commercially-packaged natural foods was typical and fine. But the prepared foods, including the bakery goods, were all (that I could find) full of preservatives, chemicals, artificial ingredients, etc. Very disappointing. Very unnatural. Great market! I ordered a cake from their catering website and picked it up at the Blue Bell location. Their cakes are delicious!! The 9 inch cake was priced at $20 which was a bargain for how large and delicious it was! The cake was moist and the buttercream icing was rich but not overly sweet. I am mostly writing this review because they have this awesome bar with craft beer right inside their supermarket. They've got about eight or so selections, including a delicious mango IPA. We enjoyed the Bells IPA which was also great. There is a wine bar as well if you'd prefer wine, and a small snack menu. There is also a hot food bar with soups, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, and other selections. At the time, they were letting people sample their Italian Wedding soup, and I thought it was really good. As a supermarket, it's not that big but the area could really use one. I don't think the prices are the best, but not the worst either. Definitely more of a shopping experience, if you enjoy a few drinks or a bite while you are doing your food shopping. read more

McCaffreys is a welcome addition to the "Center Square" area. A good offering of groceries, excellent prepared foods, and beer and wine. Its building has seemed just a little too small to properly accommodate its past supermarket tenants, but I think that McCaffreys has turned it into something great. They have fewer items in their grocery aisles than, say, Giant does, but their selection includes the things that you typically need on a shopping trip, and nice selection of gourmet/specialty items that can't always be found in the neighborhood. Putting those together, I think, conveniently fills a need. They also have a great deli counter, a Wegmans-like cheese counter, etc. My early impression is that they're not the cheapest grocery store in the area, but their prices seemed reasonably competitive. They seem to place a particular emphasis on their prepared foods. They have a great selection of good food with notably more "gourmet" offerings than a typical grocer, including some pretty good sushi. And the prepared food prices are quite reasonable. I foresee this becoming a go-to spot to pick up a quick meal. They sell beer and wine. I can't comment much on the latter offering yet, but they have a good beer selection that at least matches anyplace else in the area. And they have a small bar area if you want to sit in the store which seems like a little bit less of an afterthought than what some other stores have. Finally, in my couple of trips so far, their service has been notably good. They're friendly, knowledgable, and they're trained to do little things that make the shopping experience a little bit more pleasant. I'm definitely glad to have McCaffreys in the neighborhood. read more

I have driven past this grocery store millions of times, but today I decided to stop in on my lunch break. I was so surprised at just how nice it was inside. I took a brief lap through the store since I was on a time constraint, and all of the produce looked fresh and there was a large selection of organic/vegetarian options. They had a beautiful salad bar, and a pretty impressive craft beer selection in the back (unrelated to my lunch break ;)). I was also thrilled with how clean the sit-down eating section was, because I know how messy we customers can be. I will definitely be making this a go-to for lunch breaks since I work nearby, and a staple in my future grocery shopping trips! Absolutely thrilled to have found this gem. :) read more

You simply cannot beat the variety, selection and quality - the produce section is amazing, the fish and meats the freshest you will find anywhere, lots of product brand choices in pantry items as well. While I love to cook - most of the time, it's great to know that the times when I can't, there is a wonderful prepared foods section where you could find entrees and sides and seasonal favorites - both hot and cold to take home. McCaffrey's is a very nice supermarket. The presentation is extremely neat and orderly. The staff are usually very friendly and it's never too crowded, even during rush hour. The bakery section has a lot of nice options, but the section I enjoy the most is their wine and spirits store within the supermarket. They have all of my favorite wines and spirits for a very reasonable price. I think it's very convenient to be able to take care of your grocery list and be able to purchase your favorite alcoholic beverage while you're shopping. I will say this however, certain items in McCaffrey's can be overpriced, compared to chains such as the Giant, ShopRite, etc. I shop at McCaffrey's for certain items. If you plan to purchase your groceries at McCaffrey's, it won't hurt to do some price comparisons on your favorite items. read more

McCaffrey's is an amazing grocery store - fantastic selection, fresh produce, and amazing prepared foods. The seafood and meat departments are top notch - and wonderful to work with. They have a lovely coffee bar (so much better than Starbucks coffee!). And, this past weekend, we had McCaffrey's supply us with flowers and special cupcakes for a large party. The flowers were perfect - exactly what we'd ordered. And the cupcakes not only looked beautiful but were also delicious. Thank you McCaffrey's! read more

I love this store. So much less hectic than Wegmans and they actually have local produce, meats, etc. We go out of our way to go here. They don't have everything but no store does. I am a fan of McCaffrey's. They have most of what I want and (unlike Wegman's) less of what I don't. That makes the size of the store manageable and the quality quite good. However, I have noticed a decline in some areas since they opened. There are several surly cashiers and others who struggle with the task. I rely on them for fairly good fish but in the past couple of weeks quality has declined and there is a new female employee with poor customer service skills and questionable produce knowledge. Nonetheless most of the employees are helpful and deliver excellent service particularly in floral, meat, and produce. McCaffrey's is the best local market we've got! read more

It's awesome! There is a bar IN the store! I watched college football and had a beer while my wife shopped! No reason to ever go to Giant again. Produce is way more fresh, Boar's head brand at the deli (unlike Wegmans) it has great lighting, the people are super friendly, and selection was awesome. With one stop I can buy groceries, wine, liquor, beer, etc. Finally I don't have to fight 5pm traffic at the awful Springhouse intersection! Before today I had never heard of these guys, now I'm their newest fan. read more
