I've been coming to H Mart for years. It has been going very popular. The parking lot is packed. There's an eatery above H Mart and across the parking lot so that may also contribute to the congested lot. A lot of people don't know, but there's a parking lot around the side also. When you first come into H Mart immediately to your left is a bun place; they have some great choices and are 3 for $10. There's a bakery and a little grab and go place where there are some great dishes and they're very reasonable. There's also a store that sells bidet seats and water purifiers and recliners in there as well. H-Mart has a diverse team. Some employees speak limited English, but they're very helpful. If they can't understand your question, they'll quickly get someone else to assist. Usually, showing them a photo of the item works perfectly, and they can guide you directly to it. They have a great Seafood section in the back of the store. They sell all kinds of fish and have live crab and lobster. I feel like the prices are great on most things. They also have a big kimchi section which I really love and there's always plenty of new things to try here. H Mart has a variety of items and Kitchen accessories. I've been dying to try the H mart for over a year now but none of the locations are especially close. So finally got here the other day. Unfortunately it wasn't everything I hoped for. A lot of the "fresh" food was expired or expiring in a few days. I saw products passed their shelf life. I bought a soy milk that was not passed its fat but was def not good. I got three peppers and had to toss two. I probably had to throw out over $30 worth of stuff. Some was my fault. For instance I got this snack that looked like string cheese and was next to string cheese but was not string cheese. It was fish sausage. It was disgusting. I bought rib tips that were set to expire the next day, but I froze them. I cooked them up two days later and they just tasted funny so I had to throw those out too. It was cool to explore but again be very observant when looking at dates. read more

so the pics on the main page don't look like the actual store which is cramped tight spaces. from the food court i ordered the spicy pork, beef bulgogi, & bibimbap. food dishes were good, spicy pork was the best. i wish they also had LA Galbi (Korean BBQ Short Ribs) like the Hmart in NY. i got the pre pre marinated chicken, beef, and spicy pork. the best was the pork, then the chicken, but the beef pieces were to thick. wish they had bulgogi or la galbi like they do in Ny hmart. besides the place being way too congested and packed and i couldn't find a cart. i'll be going back as even my kids like the take out food. great job guys, if you could make some of the above improvements, i'll give you 5 stars. read more

I bought this salted belt fish few days ago at this Hmart in Elkins park and noticed a slight smell in my fridge. I didn't think much of it and I opened this package and strong rotting stench filled my kitchen. I checked the dates on the package and it says 11/26!!! It's 12/26 today!!! How does this Hmart sell almost month expired fish?! I really need to make a habit of checking the dates, but you want to trust the stores you go. And I can understand items that are day or two expired that they might have missed, but a month expired fresh fish is just too much. This makes me so upset, because I have a friend who never got her sense of smell back after Covid and my dad just has poor sense of smell. People like this might consume even slightly expired fish and get seriously sick. I called the Hmart and let them know, they need to thoroughly check their shelves! I was transferred to the fish department and they said it's because they did not see it on the shelves either. That's not an excuse! They need to check consistently. It has been awhile since I shopped here but I needed specific ingredients that I knew I could get there. I was SHOCKED at the prices of produce, seafood, frozen items, etc. I did a couple of laps around the store just to verify. Examples; mini carrots (Dole) small bag at $3.99, iceberg lettuce at $8.99 (!!!!!!) , 1.5 pounds of green grapes was $8.99 and 3 bunches of scallions was $6.99. I always buy the marinated spicy pork, seaweed, Korean desserts. There's a whole section dedicated to the seaweed, plenty of prepared Korean food at the back of the store. Outside the supermarket, you can find a store selling prepared Korean food, Paris baguette, a store selling Korean dessert. By the entrance I recommend that you visit the dumpling store which also sells jumbo buns with some choices of fillings such as Kimchi, red bean, pork. The buns are fresh from the huge steamers. They are so soft and generous with the full. Highly recommended. I ate it right away. read more

They have a variety of Asian fruits, vegetables and Korean ready meals. Hmart overall has higher quality items. I love the Paris Baguette located inside plus the food court. I always enjoy shopping at H mart. My first time here since I'm just visiting PA. This location is slightly smaller than the other stores I visited, not much room to walk in when there are others, but they have everything you could ever need with decent prices. The first floor is mainly for grocery. There are shops before you reach the supermarket entrance such as Tsaocaa, Paris Baguette, dumpling place (which I didn't know the name) and other Korean shops. Food court was located in the second floor with many good food choices. I will be back when visiting PA again. I need to try those dumplings and buns located by the entrance. Parking is so crowded. Always love shopping at hmart. Although this location is a bit small, not much walk room when there are others and their carts. For me, this would not be the best hmart location because i also have a 3.5mos old in her stroller. Love to shop for their meat and soft tofu here and my older daughter's favorite udon. Another inconvenience is when my older child needs to use the bathroom, we would have to go upstairs to the end of the hallway for the restroom. And the restroom here isn't big and not that clean. For these two reasons, sometimes I do prefer the other nearby hmart instead. read more

Why did we want to go here? I have no idea what I was after, but I asked my wife if she wanted to go. It's been years since I've been to an H Mart. It was our Anniversary and we couldn't go out to any restaurant, since we were still in the "yellow" phase at the time? I think... Back in May of Covid times... This place was as packed as it usually was. Arrows were up and down aisles, some people were trying to isolate, other's were in their own world, talking on the phone... We got a pretty large dungeness crab here, some shrimp with the heads on, and a bunch of other random foods and snacks. I loved looking at all of the items they have here. This was my first time coming to H Mart, we were looking for some seafood or something to eat for our anniversary since we couldn't go out to restaurants. It was pretty crowded on Memorial Day and the store had the one way arrows and it was a little hard to navigate between aisles. They had a great selection of seafood. We were going to get a live lobster but I ended up getting a Dungeness crab because I never seen a live one in stores before. It was pretty good, it was big and fresh. We also got some shrimp with the heads on. I peeled them off before eating, I didn't realize you could eat them with the heads on them my friend told me. Maybe next time....haha. I also saw a lot of fresh fish that I wanted, but will have to get it another time. They had fluke and I've been looking for that for awhile. We didn't get anything from the produce because it was basically the same stuff they have at other stores. We did get some rosemary because I wanted some for drinks, it tasted different than my regular rosemary though. They have a ton of different noodles, we ended up getting a couple packs. I got pumpkin noodles which I'm excited for. Also got some random candy there. I was looking for the weird flavors of Kit Kat's but they only had a couple green flavors so I didn't get them. I got strawberry Oreos and some espresso cookies and panda wafers. Legit asian market. Everyone knows that if you want fresh veggies/ fruits and you want it for dirt cheap... you hit up the local asian market. HMart always comes through. Not only do they have the typical veggies.. you can also get all of the asian veggies to recreate some of mom's favorite dishes. I would say the seafood is much cheaper here as well.. in comparison to American supermarkets. What I love most about H Mart. Where to begin?! Would it be that their fresh produce section is always gigantic, always incredibly fresh, and always stocked with a lot of items you just can't find anywhere else? Actually, that last point goes for pretty much the entire store too, but I digress. The Elkins Park H Mart is clean and well-stocked. As with all H Marts, I found a lot of their prices to be low and fair, especially given the fact that they exclusively stock a lot of things you just can't find anywhere else around in every supermarket setting. I went there to find some kitchen utensils, and I found a great deal on some cookware that I later looked up on Amazon and saw I got a better deal at H Mart. So I was very happy about that. This H Mart is located on the bottom level of an indoor mini mall, and it was a little cramped to be honest. I had to snake my way around a number of people because the aisles were more narrow than at a stand-alone supermarket, including other local H Mart locations. While that was a bit of a headache, it by no means took away from my excitement of having another H Mart nearby, and I look forward to frequenting it more often. read more

As far as Asian grocery stores go, this one rocks. In the city, I associate the type with some dingy, suspicious seafood sections, untrustworthy meat labels, and low prices. Walking into Hmart, my expectations have changed for the better. This is a korean based store, so there are many options for specific noodles, types of kimchi, and a whole korean take out spot with all of your favorites. The door leads to a fresh dumpling shop, where they make them right in front of the window, leading to kim bap, lunch trays and more, as well as a parisian cafe with your favorite tarts, cakes, and breads! Finally, the store. Huge! So many isles of noodles, cans, sauces, most with captions in English! Got the fixings for a very tasty korean style noodle dish, and bought all of the veggies, pastes, and meats there. Great, cheap cuts of pork belly, steak, chicken, and so much fresh fish! Homemade kimchi lines a whole section of the fridge. We fell in love with the frozen dumpling section, enough to last you weeks for tasty fried, steamed or even microwaved yumminess. Wasn't crowded during daylight hours, but I can see how it can get crazy later in the day. Once I run out of dumplings (give me a few weeks) and make my last package of noodles, I'll be driving back! read more

I really enjoy shopping at H Mart, the popular Korean grocery chain. Upstairs you'll find a food court with in house casual dining seating. In the basement you'll find a grocery store, Paris Baguette, (another very popular Korean chain with beautiful pastries), a small stall that makes the most delicious red bean buns my kiddos love, a market for prepared food only (their stewed spicy tofu is insane!), and some very small beauty and clothing stores. I most recently discovered these shops sell Korean masks I've been obsessed with! Nobody knows skincare like Koreans! I swear every time I'm here I find something new I love! The grocery store offers basic produce which I actually choose not to get there. I feel it's a smidge overpriced and some items don't look the freshest. I'll pick some up only if I need a certain item for a meal I'm cooking that night and don't feel like heading to my regular grocery store. You will find more exotic items such as awesome mushrooms, cactus, and fantastic peppers, which are the things I wait to purchase here. Also, they sell big boxes of pears and apples which isn't a bad deal when purchasing in large quantity. There's a great variety of frozen and packaged Korean goods! I mean there's one whole aisle for seaweed alone! We get really tasty dim sum, gyoza and buns to steam at home. Meat and vegetarian varieties alike. They sell any and every kind of meat and seafood you could imagine including live lobsters. I can't really tell you more about that section because this animal loving gal can't venture back there. They have it all. Eeeeeek! ((Covers eyes)) You'll find gorgeous packaged chop sticks which I've purchased when I threw a Asian themed party, even marble mortar & pestal sets too. The home and gadget section is definitely worth a glance! I've had my eye on those rice cookers! I see how some could consider a trip here a tad overwhelming especially if you don't speak or read Korean, but I choose to look at it as being adventurous and an opportunity to branch out and try new things! The place is kind of crammed and perhaps not the cleanest, but it has really served me well every time I've visited. Patience is key. If you're in the area, I would recommend stopping by. Try both floors! My sister in law who is from Korea makes special trips from the city to shop here, if that means anything to you. We came here hearing that this location has some pretty nifty things here including some small shops and a food court. We ate at the food court first, and I have to say ordering it at one place is very convenient rather than ordering it individually at each stall. I'm pretty satisfied with the food court option, and the experience all together. The lady taking my order is very patient and kind especially since I was taking way too long figuring out what I wanted. There's also a great size parking lot as well so it's convenient to be able just to find parking and walk in without hunting down a spot. It would be nice to see the little shops open, but due to the pandemic (and possibly being Sunday), they're all closed. I'll definitely have to come back again for the little shops. My experience with buying groceries was relatively good. Though the isles were a little narrow, it makes up for good selection of stuff they have. HMart food court is a must try, good food, wide variety, fair price point. The spicy garlic chicken is well prepared and presented, can taste every ingredient, no masking with spices. My husband and I have been coming to Fuse in the HMart Food court for a number of years (20+ years). We loved their bento boxes, as they were so tasty and reasonably priced. We went last night and learned that the price of the Fuse Bento boxes went up by 30%. Given the price of everything, we weren't surprised but did not expect such a dramatic hike. But what was FAR more disappointing was the dramatic decrease in the QUALITY and quantity of the items in the bento box; * Tempura veggies were bland and greasy * The one tempura "pork" piece tasted like a breakfast sausage * Miso soup (served in a Styrofoam container) was only 1/3 full * Seaweed side measured about 1 tablespoon (!!!) and tasted stale * 2 California rolls were good but came without wasabi Not sure if the original owners of Fuse were replaced but we will not be returning. read more

Whole Foods stopped stocking Mori Nu silken tofu which gave me a major case of the sads. I was referred to H Mart by a few different people and they did not let me down. Not only did I hit a bonanza of Mori Nu, it was half the price of Whole Paycheck, er, Foods. I also hit up the Paris Baguette bakery while I was there. If you're at H Mart, you pretty much have to go there. It smells insanely good and the pastries glow from the windows. I split a couple of red bean donuts and an almond croissant with my husband. The croissant was just okay. The red bean donuts were fantastic. Stick with the asian-style pastries here, and you will not be sorry. read more

The last stop of my Farmers' Best, Kobawoo and H Mart Asian shopping day, H Mart falls somewhere in between the larger, well inventoried, but dirty FBM, and the smaller, well thought out aisles and cleanliness of KM. This successful chain has expanded since 1982, and continues to offer well stocked fresh produce and a wide variety of Asian packaged frozen foods and groceries. If I were to choose only one stop shopping, H Mart would be the best compromise. Their prices are reasonable and you can find most of what you want for your exotic food requirements. I have visited their locations in Levittown and Edison, and again, this one stands in between those two in terms of size, customer service and aisle access/comfort. The most unique aspect of this shop is the space it shares with a decent food court for a sit down or take out dining experience, and the Paris Baguette bakery in the basement which provides a pleasant café experience pre or après purchasing your consumables. Have you ever wondered how "H Mart" got its name? I did, and went on its website to see if I could find out. The "H" is the first letter of the phrase, "Han Ah Reum," meaning, "Arm full of groceries." I leave it to the Korean readers to know if that is accurate. But, the image works for me. read more

What a dissappointment! :-( I was expecting a HUGE place or something comparable to the HMart in NJ, but it was so TINY!!!! Went into the noodle isle and they didn't seem to have as many choices as I was hoping for. Same with the snack isle. For being smack dab in the middle of a predominantly Korean neighborhood, I really thought this place would have been a WOW! Heinous Mart. This place is dirtball heaven. Its kind of like Chinatown: dirty, crowded, and none of the stores keep their kitchen clean! Oh and both smell like rotten fish. I came for Kimchi. The store i got it from had a dirty kitchen. I'm seeing that its here and in Chinatown. How long does it take to scrub floors??? MY Kimchi had SEVERAL hairs in it and a few winged bugs. The reason why is they leave the food sitting out for HOURS. I bout a quart of Kimchi and only ate half. I threw the rest out. Disgusting. And i had lunch upstairs in the so-called food court a few years ago. It made all of us sick. I'm never going back to H-Mart. Ever. I dont think they care though. They cater to customers who dont care about things like dirty kitchens and insects in the food. read more

What a dump! I have been to H Marts in other parts of the country and they were SO much better. This place is crowded, dingy, didn't have anything I wanted (thai basil, galangal, lime leaves) even though they are the only Asian grocery for miles and miles around. Yes, they are Korean , but even my closest little little neighborhood Korean grocery in Blue Bell has these. I purchased some decent priced veggies, but nothing spectacular or unusual... upstairs the food court looked like it had some interesting dishes, but old and worn down looking too.. when you have been in a new, clean, orderly and well stocked H Mart such as in Austin you See the huge mess this one is! read more

I love the market inside, it always has all the things i need to cook all things asian, and the food court is great...maybe avoid the Vietnamese place there if you are looking for something authentically Vietnamese. the korean food is great and so is the sushi there at the food court. read more
