The first time we walked in, they asked if we had a reservation. We said no, and they still sat us--thankfully--the wine selection was out of this world, and the frutti di mare was to die for. The kids had spaghetti Bolognese, and it was fantastic. The place was always busy. On our second visit , we called to make a reservation and they said that it was first come first served for the night, we had to wait - we thought, hey let's just walk around and see if there is availability somewhere else - everywhere else was dead ..(we had to go back), I tried the catch of the day--perfectly pulled fish with a fresh seasonal salad. I'm sure this is one of the best restaurants in Ravello. Just a tip: don't go too late. The service slipped from so-so to completely unattended for long stretches, which really took away from the experience. Immediately I knew what I was going to order! A bottle of white wine and pasta for everyone! Each bite boasted of flavors you just don't find at home! Tomato sauce (or gravy) so fresh with basil and mozzarella cheese! We returned the next evening to try the pizza! Not only did Mamma pick out the perfect pie she remembered how much we loved the meatballs and brought more to our table. I don't think any restaurants has made this kind of impression on me. I didn't finish all 6 of my courses but my husband did and he was still hungry. The wine by glass was silly expensive ($40 per stem) but we really wanted red with our lamb which was final course. At one point near the end of the meal the manager walked by and as he KEPT WALKING he asked if everything was good but didn't even stop. Just said it as he was walking by. It was my birthday and we had made reservations in April & my husband told them if was my birthday. They did bring a complimentary glass of bubbly which was nice. But the birthday dessert? Kind of an after thought! The dessert waitress brought a plate with happy birthday written in chocolate and then proceeded to put a few small cookies on the plate. Not even worth taking a picture of.
