Ugh, was so excited for this place with all the raving reviews on TripAdvisor etc. then realized why.. they hand out a QR code at the end of the meal with their reviews on different platforms and ask for a positive review. Sorry gents, positive reviews are only for those that are unsolicited! Food was mid and service was kind of annoying. The night really went sour when the waiter assumed I wanted Parmesan on my seafood risotto prior to me finishing my sentence. Relax bro.. seemed so quick to insert preconceived judgements towards Americans. Not a fan of that. Quite honestly it made the entire dining experience unpleasant. I wasn't able to finish my meal and asked for a box.. never got one but I wasn't willing to follow up on it because I wanted to get out of a place that clearly wasn't welcoming to outsiders. Another amazing meal in Sorrento. We ate here after a long day in capri and the waitstaff was so friendly and helpful. They offered suggestions, didn't Push anything too hard, and we took their advice on the food. Had the caprese salad and the split the chef special of a seafood pasta. It was amazing!!! This was our first night and dinner in Sorrento and we are impressed with the food and service. We didn't make reservations, but we showed up at 6pm when the restaurant opened. We were seated right away. I guess we were lucky because the tables filled up very quickly. As usual, I think we've ordered too much food. Everything on the menu just sounds so good! I love fritto misto and grilled octopus! If it's on the menu, I will order it. The seafood in Italy is incredible. The Aubergine (eggplant) Parmigiana is indescribable. I love eggplant, but the vegetables in Italy taste so much better than US. We wanted to skip wine at this particular evening and went with cocktails. It was great choice because they were perfect! The service was excellent. They are friendly, polite and will go out of the way to make us feel welcome. I would definitely come back the next time I am in Sorrento again. I had one of the specials which was pasta with local fish and mushrooms. That staff very helpful and suggested some local wine to pair with it. Hello from Sorrento Italy. Had a late lunch here, they close for a few hours, before dinner starts at 5:30pm. It was a lovely, not beautiful, walk to get to the restaurant. We ate inside where they have four tables setup. Outside has five or six. Ordered Gnocchi Alla Sorrentina for my wife. So much better than the dish you get in the United States. I had Rigatoni Ragu which had big noodles and meat. They give you just enough where you want more. House wine was also ordered. Desert was tiramisu. Very yummy. As with other restaurants in Europe there is a cover or service charge. 2.5 euros per person. Dining felt like I was eating at home if my mom were Italian and if she could cook. We had dinner at this nice restaurant in Sorrento. It's a couple of blocks away from the main strip so it's a quieter area. To start we had to try the stuffed anchovies with mozzarella and ricotta. I'm not used to seeing seafood mixed with cheese so this combination was intriguing. I must say the anchovies were amazing, they had a nice lemon flavor and the cheese was so mild. For our entrées we had the ravioli and a grilled fish. The ravioli were simple but the tomato sauce on the ravioli was absolutely delicious. A dish that definitely felt like home. The fish was filet, grilled and served with a side of creamy and buttery mashed potatoes. Again, a combination I'm definitely not used to but one which worked so well. Lastly, although not terribly hungry we had room for a bit more food and were curious to try the meat stuffed cannelloni everyone talks about so we went for it. The dish was ok but not one I'd rate high or go after again. Lastly we decided to try the torta caprese, a rich flourless chocolate cake famous in this area, served with a side of vanilla ice cream. It was rich and chocolaty with a nice hint of almond, but a bit dry for my taste. There are better traditional local desserts that one must try in this area. We arrived for dinner at 6pm, right when they opened. We had a large party of 10, and they were happy to accommodate us. The food was all wonderful, the servers all kind and helpful. Even with my 4 year old being a 4 year old! They doted on her and helped get her in a happier mood. We were in and out before the main dinner rush (Americans eat dinner a lot earlier than Italians!) but we never felt rushed for even a moment. One of my favorite restaurants we went to Italy over two weeks. This place was recommended to us by our AirBnB host who took the time to introduce us to the owner, server, and chef. All of them were very kind, so the service was top notch. I also watched them with other customers and our polite, prompt, and not overbearing service was not an exception. The food was delicious. I'm not much of a seafood guy, so I enjoyed their ravioli as well as fried pumpkin / zucchini flowers. They were light and fluffy while having a lot of flavor in the stuffing. The ravioli was the best I had in Italy. The presentation of all the dishes was professional and cared-for. Prices were affordable and a real value for the quality. I can't say enough about how exceptional this restaurant is ! The staff , service and food! We eat inside. Seats very comfortable and we got to sit outside the window where the chef was cooking! Inside has 3 small areas and there is an outside section as well. The menu is limited and everyday Chef has several specials. Although it's limited it covers all taste pallets ! Grabbed dinner on our first night in Sorrento and boy did we pick a great place. Salvatore was our waiter and he was fabulous! Our party of 5 started w the zucchini flowers which were stuffed w blue cheese, ricotta and crispy leeks - OMG! We also had the Buffalo cheese and meat - so good and the beef tartar which was absolutely one of the best tartars we have ever had. Everything was bursting w flavors. We each got a different entree and no one was disappointed. From the Sorrento gnocchi, to the spaghetti and pork ribs, the fish special (tuna), the filet and finally the very lightly fried seafood platter. We finished our meal off w the panacotta and the dark chocolate almond orange cake w some kind of cream. And the drinks were top notch as well. Amazing food! We got the appetizer dei mori and it was very tasty. For my main dish I had this sliced beef dish cooked perfectly medium rare with a gorgonzola cream sauce that was out of this world. We finished it off with the pistachio cheesecake that we practically inhaled it was so good. Very well priced and the service was excellent.
