Attending the Water Lantern Festival at Gibson Ranch in Elverta was a relaxing and moving experience. The weather was perfect, with temperatures in the 80s and a gentle breeze setting the tone. As night fell, the sight of the lake illuminated by the glowing lanterns was breathtaking. Each lantern, lit with personal messages and drawings, carried heartfelt memories of lost loved ones and positive vibes. The atmosphere was peaceful and reflective, allowing attendees to connect and find peace and share exoeriances. The festival also offered a variety of food tents and trucks, ensuring everyone was well catered for. This event was beautifully organized and deeply meaningful, providing a special space for remembrance and community. The park itself is good, not great. Parking, traffic and long food lines were a challenge. Highly recommend the event for anyone seeking an uplifting experience. read more

This place is extremely unimpressive. We are in a drought and these people were watering the grass in the middle of the day. When I was there last week I explained to an attendant they had water running in the womans bathroom that need to be fixed. When I was there today and took my daughter in the bathroom guess what? That same water was still running!!. These bathrooms are filthy and disgusting!When I went to talk to the people at the office the guy was an idiot about it. yeah they have a scrubby little pond that has bluegill. This pond years ago used to have catfish bass and trout but has since been ruined. it's funny that they charge you 5 bucks to park in this place. what a joke and I'm also turning them into the Sacramento County Water District. read more

The park is open again under new management. It looks better than it has in a year. The grand opening last weekend was enjoyed by all. The park itself is a beautiful setting with a lake, rolling expanses of grass, trees, picnic areas, a wooded creek area, walking and hiking trails, ranch animals and a petting zoo. A great place for large or small events. The boarding facility is top notch. Excellent equestrian facility managers who care about your horse. The facility is well managed and clean. There are irrigated pastures and dry paddocks available that have shelters, as well as individual stalls and paddocks. You can ride out of the park on great trails. A lovely setting. read more

Gibson Ranch is a wonderful park with an incredibly friendly atmosphere. It is the perfect place for a picnic, golf, horseback trail riding or lessons, and just about anything else you can imagine. If you have never visited this park, please do--you will not regret it. As for the review/comments from "Dawn L": in all of my years visiting Gibson Ranch and spending extended amounts of time with the horses boarded there, I have never seen any hint of animal cruelty. They treat all animals with respect and love; this park is phenomenal. The annual Civil War re-enactment is coming up on May 21st I believe--something you don't want to miss ;D read more

I take my dog here all the time on non busy days and no one is ever at the booth to collect the $5 entrance fee, keep in mind the booth is bolted up and closed, like who am I suppose to give the money to a fucking ghost? Lol but a white man in a white truck who was ahead of me was like you're suppose to pay I work here, but he let other people go in but not me who didn't even have a season pass or money! That was so fucked up! All I wanted to do was take my dog to their dog park which I always had been doing with no problems except today! Never going here again if you want to encounter racist workers! read more

The park is lovely, with a lake, many trees, and picnic sites. There is a historic ranch on the property with farm animals and horse boarding. Horseback riding and pony rides are available from knowledgeable horse operator L&M concessionaires. The park was recently reopened, and there is something for everyone. The kids will enjoy the goats, chickens, cows, and sheep, as well as the horses. Beautiful peacocks roam the grounds, providing amazing photo ops. There are trails along the creek to hike or ride your bike. Go and have a great time! One of my favorite parks. read more

Gibson Ranch has gone to hell. The dog park has been closed for months with no answers as to when it is going to reopen. The current management runs the place like a Nazi concentration camp. The old man in the maintenance man, Stephanies father who drives the old truck yells at people and kicks them out with no apparent reason. This place needs new management. The only saving grace was Tumbleweed Town and now it is gone as well. Loyd was the only thing that drew people to this park. Time for a change!! read more

The park is lovely, with lots of trees, a lake, riding and hiking trails along the creek. The ranch atmosphere is nostalgic, with cows, sheep, horses, and goats grazing in green pastures. A wonderful place to picnic or just enjoy the day. The boarding facilities are good with irrigated pasture, dry pasture, stalls, and paddocks to choose from. The equestrian managers are top notch, very knowledgeable horse people. Great riding trails directly from the boarding facility. read more

Hello No ! This place is surrounded by homeless and gang tags is $5-10 bucks just to park so your kids can feed a couple ducks. I feel bad for leaving this review and for this place but with the parks in Rocklin and Roseville that are free and clean, this place is a joke ! read more

As far as parks go its big. There is lots of room to run around. I was very disappointed in the upkeep of the restrooms they were dirty and not inviting :( I expected a little more from a park that you have to pay to park. read more

Great place to bring your family. Bbq, picnic, horseback riding, fishing and more. Lots of fun! Definitely a must this summer.
