Experience was amazing. This was my first time at Wake Island and I must say. I'm glad I checked TikTok before going. Water shoes and a pop up tent or canopy with chairs are a must if your not renting a cabana there is no shaded area or seating on the beach so pack like your going to a state beach. No outside foods are allowed even though we did see people with food set up at their sites they brought in (kinda felt like we were the only ones without our own food. The key is to sneak it in but we were being honest people) . I guess since it was in a bag and not a cooler they didn't care. They do let you bring in reusable water bottles. This is a great place to bring your family they have the main obstacle course (not for the weak Lol ) which you'll have to be 48" and taller to participate in, but they also have a less intense one for the little kids ans toddlers. There's a slide and zip lining which is included in the price. We choose Groupon for our entry. They also have the wake boarding for an additional fee. Con and definitely should be evaluated!!! The only problem I had was there was no dress code and for this to be a place for families and people of all ages to be at why are girls walking around with their butts out! I don't mean the swimsuits wedgie but full on thong bikinis around children ! I was disgusted to see that and it was just ok. Like it's a time and a place for everything. Not saying the need full on water suites but decorum and consideration along with respect for others goes along way. I kno you can't make someone wear something different but when you go bowling you have to wear the special shoes right ! They should consider no cheeks out at wake island. Other then that. Went to wake island on a Tuesday 5 kids ranging from 3-13 and each of them had a wonderful time. We arrived at 11 am and was able to get a great spot on the beach, make sure to bring some kind of shade and chairs. The obstacle course didn't open until 11:30 so the first half hour the kids played in the sand/beach area. Beware of the HUGE CATFISH, they didn't attack anyone but boy did they catch me off guard. Also if you don't have upper body strength like myself, whew it's a workout to get up on the obstacle course. For my 20 mins attempting to get on, my arms were sore for 2 days lol. The food was really good! Will note that the QR code to order food didn't have the full menu. So if you scan and it seems everything is sold out go up to the counter. If you don't like space, don't get the coleslaw on the pulled pork sandwich as it's a chipotle slaw and maybe too spicy for some. All staff was very helpful. Overall it was an amazing day with the family just wish there wasn't any cat fish but also understand they are there to help maintain the water. read more

My son had his birthday party at Wake Island this weekend, and we had so much fun. It was our first time there, and we didn't know what to expect. The good it will keep the kids entertained on the waterpark. The bad, don't get anything to eat here, it's unfortunate that you can't bring food and are forced to have the worst service I think I have ever encountered. Cheeseburger and fries and chicken tender and fries. Hour later I get a cold cheeseburger with no fries and cold tenders with fries. I'm sure it was done 40 mins prior to them letting me know while I'm standing there. Garbage cans were so full people were playing jenga with trash on top of cans. We celebrated my son's 12th birthday at Wake Island. It was all our first time there. There was a party of 14 people and everyone had a blast. We can't wait to return to go back on the inflatable obstacle course. The adults and kids were laughing as we made it around the course. I had forgotten to leave this review before the summer ended, but here was my experience: Wake Island Waterpark is really fun! I love places with obstacle courses. I had a lot of fun running around everywhere, slipping around, and falling. Some of the steps underwater to climb up to the platform are very low so it made it very hard for short people such as myself to climb up. I had to get help lifted up or pulled up by friends. I liked the hamster wheels, it was fun to experience. The slides were fun but be careful when you splash into the water. We got a lot of water stuck in my ears and our noses hurt a bit. I didn't take the wakeboarding course, but it looked really fun! Perhaps I will try next summer. The shore is also quite small. I noticed the VIP section was on the other side, which doesn't make sense because they have to walk so far just to get food/drinks. Bring water shoes if you don't want wet grippy socks. In my opinion, the grip wasn't that great and I didn't realize the socks would be actual sock material. I thought it would be something more fitting for the water. The water wasn't the best though. It was very blue, but obviously was due to coloring/dye added to the water. You could see the shore being stained blue due to the water. There were some warm spots throughout the water area and it wasn't due to other people -- I had felt warm waters even in empty areas of water with no people around. I am not sure if it was due to maybe machines underneath pumping up the floating platforms. Sometimes you could see little fish flying up out of the water, which I thought was really cool to see. It's not frequent you see this though so there is no worry about the wildlife underneath. However, I am concerned at their state of life being in such polluted and colored water. They will probably all die off eventually. I went towards the very end of summer so there were a few issues I came across. Underneath the platforms, there is a lot of biofilm and algae buildup. It is quite disgusting to see and even worse when you accidentally touch it. I did see some chunks of bio film on the platforms that some people threw on because they probably accidentally got it on themselves. I hope that they clean underneath the platforms more frequently in the summer so that it isn't an issue. It's really quite nasty and makes the park seem unclean. I think there can definitely be improvements to be made, but overall, Wake Island is a fun water obstacle course. I am a bit hesitant to go again because my skin didn't love the water. I sensed it even on the first dip. It didn't feel like fresh water or very refreshing and satisfying to be in. There must be too much harsh chemicals because my skin did break out a bit from being in the water. I am repulsed by all the biofilm algae buildup. If I go again, I would try going again in the beginning of summer and hopefully it is clean without issues. For their food/drinks: Their Thai tea was actually really good. It wasn't too sweet and it tasted pretty authentic. I was impressed and thought it wouldn't be that good. Their alcoholic drinks are a good price! It is a good incentive for parents who don't participate in play and have to watch their kids to still have a good time. I only got their chicken tenders with fries. I think it only came with 3 pieces. The price was okay. I recommend bringing your own umbrellas and chairs! You can also bring tables or tents to make a nice set up if you have a big party. Also it can be a little bit hard to find this place so drive slow, as it is in the middle of fields and rough roads. It could use a few more signs directing us where to go. Parking lot looks a bit small so get there early if you go in the peak of summer. read more

Great experience at Wake Island with 9 and 11 year olds. We missed the memo that said to bring your pop up shelter- there is no natural shade at all! Those in the know brought shelters, tables, and chairs. Although this grandma and grandpa tried to do the obstacle course with the kids, we were unable to keep any kind of balance - we ended up observing the kids have a blast! The one thing to be aware of is if you have a hard time pulling yourself up on the swim platform, there's not consistent quality in steps/assistance when getting out of the water. I went here on a Monday in July using a Groupon. I had a great time. Parking was easy. I was directed to park in the lot when I arrived at 11 AM. Those arriving a little later were advised by the staff to park a little further down. Please be aware of the waiver that you have to sign before you enter the park. You also have to get your wristband after you've signed the waiver. Depending on which Groupon you get or tickets you get through the website, you will have access to certain things at this park. I had access to practically everything except the wakeboarding. The kids really enjoyed the zip lining in the obstacle course. I loved the slide and the hamster wheels and the obstacle course near those wheels. I also enjoyed the open swimming area. Be aware of lifeguards warning you to have your life fest on during these activities. I heard multiple times the lifeguards prompting people about this. I totally get this and understand especially for safety concerns. This is a great place to attend with your family or friends. I also enjoyed the snack bar. They do not allow food inside so having reasonable priced food items at the snack bar was nice. I highly recommend you check out Wake Island Waterpark. read more

We love Wake Island Waterpark. We mostly go for wakeboarding, but the inflatable area is a ton of fun too. I first started coming with my 9-year-old son last season, and we were immediately hooked. We've come with the kids for years. We loved that they could enjoy the course, and we could sit on the beach for $10 each and pay the extra for them to do the course. In the past we would get a cabana (which was a flat rate and you did NOT have to pay an additional fee per person) and just chill on the private beach side and the kids could do the smaller ninja course on that side. Now, you have to pay $75 per person no matter who is doing the course. You also have to pay $75 per person on top of the cabana fee if you choose to do the cabana. For some people it's definitely worth it. We opted out this year. read more

The facility is nice but you CANNOT drink/bring alcohol to your reserved private cabana. Spent around $300 for the largest cabana and with ten adults at $75 a ticket another $750 was spent. Since you can't bring outside food or drinks, we also had to purchase everything here. There's a QR code on our cabana to order food and non alcoholic drinks however they're not brought to your cabana. I understand this place isn't a restaurant but the VIP beach (where all the cabanas are) is the furthest beach from the place to pick up food or drinks. For paying a such a high premium it feels weird not having any other benefits than just having a cabana. (In the non VIP side of the beach you can bring your own for free). You can eat your food and drinks in your cabana but you CANT consume alcohol there. I understand you can't have alcohol on the beach but not allowing it in your private cabana feels odd. Especially after spending over $1000. If the concern is contaminating the water then a sign on the cabana saying "no drinks outside of the cabana" would suffice. I don't think it has anything to do with being drunk on the beach because if it was, I wouldn't have been asked to chug my drink before entering the beach to get to my cabana. The attractions are cool, but for the price you reap no benefits paying for a cabana. There is a designated place to eat and drink (including alcohol) but it's always crowded, which is why we got a cabana. The beach's deepest point seems to be around 4ft tall but children AND adults must wear a life vest at all times. I understand for children, and I understand for all the other attractions but watching my 6'4 brother get yelled at from across the beach to wear a life jacket in 4ft of water felt like nonsense. I want to like this place but I feel like there's a lot of flaws that make this place less appealing than other water parks. I think I'd only come back for the wake boarding. I'm not hating on the place, I'm just expressing my experience while trying to leave constructive criticism. read more

I owe this place a review because frankly, I was prepared for it to absolutely suck. Recent reviews mostly didn't look encouraging, there seemed to be a lot of issues that needed work, and I had extremely low expectations. Turns out, it's a pretty well run spot, staff are working hard and solid throughout, and my kids considered it to be an epic day. Highlights: beach play, the two water play course, the zip line, even pickleball. Staff were friendly and went the extra mile at every turn. Sure they're kids, but they seemed well trained. Yes, the food is expensive and theme park food, but....it's their business, that's part of how they make money. It was hot, everybody ate it, it was perfectly satisfactory. No spiders (thank goodness), never saw the fish, and overall it was a unique adventure. Only four stars because...it's still basically an irrigation pond in the middle of fields. Last year we brought the kids and the adults rented a cabana. It was a great time just watching the kids play. This year, we rented the cabana online ahead of time and Wake Island called to ask why we didn't purchase tickets before our visit. We were planning to see what activities the kids wanted to do once we got there, so we hadn't bought any Aqua Park tickets yet. We explained that we would be buying the kids' tickets the day of. That's when they told us that every single person entering Wake Island Water Park has to buy an Aqua Park ticket which is $75 per person. Seriously? The Aqua Park is only open from 12 to 5, so per hour, it actually costs more than Disneyland. I mentioned that the wording on their website is misleading and suggested they might want their legal team to take a look. The fact that you can rent a cabana but not actually be allowed in without spending another $75 per person feels like a bait-and-switch. The park is fun, no doubt but definitely not $75-per-person fun. And if you want to try any extras, like wakeboarding, that's another added cost. It's a shame, because in this economy, most families just can't afford prices like that. If they keep it up, people won't come, and the park's going to end up shutting down. read more

What to know BEFORE you go...Mom of 3 here (ages 8-13) with an honest review with pros and cons I wish I knew before we spent way too much money coming here. We wanted to avoid crowds our first trip and be as comfortable as possible so we booked a floating cabana and decided to go during the week (because weekends can get super crowded) Pros: Overall cleanliness was pretty good. No stray litter or dirty bathrooms but I can imagine that would be different on a busy summer weekend. The staff isn't exact the over achieving type to make sure you have TP and the soap dispenser stays loaded. Lifeguards on duty (although a few were obviously bored and uninterested in their jobs) EVERYONE must wear a life jacket while in the water. The obstacles were fun! A variety of difficulty levels for most kids and adults to overcome. Take it easy or challenge yourself. The combo pass was worth it for my kiddos. Had a lot to do during the day. Cons: You can't bring outside food or beverages. The food options were lacking and prices are super inflated so eat before if you can. Spiders! Literally hundreds of spiders share the sandy beaches with you and your family. These creepy crawlers even walk on the water and hitch a ride on the floating cabanas. It was a constant battle. Fish! Big a$$ fish are stocked in the man made lake and are not at all afraid of people. Let me just say that for my family - it was a problem! My smallest child refused to get in the water. And when you pay a good chunk of money for an incredibly inconvenient to get to floating cabana, that's not good for anyone. Not to mention she's terrified of spiders. So she felt super scared the whole time we were there. No safe refuge on the sand or in the water. We did not love the floating cabana. I wouldn't get it again. You have to wade through chest deep water to get to it so if you bring "stuff" with you - good luck. We had a second camp out spot on the spider infested beach to keep our dry stuff, well, dry. Also, the cabana was filthy! I mean, they just need to hose it down. Dirty footprints everywhere, it was obvious no one takes care of those things. The private beach (or " VIP" beach) isn't anything special. Bring an umbrella and save your money unless you have a huge group. I can see it being a plus on the busier days (weekends) but otherwise I was wishing I could get a refund. Oh the staff. Ya know, I understand this is one of those places that employs mostly teenagers looking for a summer job but my goodness!!! They were on their phones, with ear buds! Um.... How are you going to notice a troubled swimmer or answer questions from a customer if you can't hear them?! It was like detention showed up to work. A small annoyance is the dyed water. I presume it's to hide the gigantic catfish and bass, carpe and coi terrorizing and/or mesmerizing the children at the waters edge. Either way, it's dirty looking and unnecessary. I dont know if we will go again. My 13 & 9 year old had fun - despite the creatures. My husband, young daughter and myself would rather go to a nice pool. Every family is different and some kids got a kick out of trying to catch the fish. I hope this helps you enjoy your trip without any surprises. I rented a floating cabana. One: that cabana is hard to get on to. There is a singular step where only on foot can rest in. No handles to help yourself up and the cabana it self its slippery!! Caution: very slippery!!! When you have multiple adults it is hard to stand up as the cabana is moving. The drapes were broken, so we had to improvise as I was staying in the cabana and not participating in any activities. In white as white can be. I needed those drapes. I also don't like how I had to wear a life jacket in 4 feet of water while trying to get into the cabana. We all had a hell of a time. The boys had fun jumping off the back of it and trying to push each other off the cabana. Then they went on the Aqua Park it self and had a great time. Quite challenging. The hamster ball they didn't like because the sand was sharp and that was what was in the ball. Scrapped them up. There are catfish in the water, so beware. Catfish are dangerous and we got yelled at by the lifeguard because one came next to me while my friend went to kick it away (just slapped water, not to kick it) and the lifeguard got upset with us. Food was good and overall the atmosphere was full of laughter and was good. We won't be coming back. read more

When I was making purchases and filling out waivers on line in preparation for our visit I was thinking "I hope it's worth the money." Well... I would venture to say, it's probably not. I can live with nickel and diming; at Wake Island it's more like $20's and $50's! If you want to sit on the little man made beach (that has absolutely NO shade) it'll cost you $10 a piece. If you want to sit at the "VIP" beach under a little make shift umbrella/palapa it'll cost you $59 and only provides partial shade. There are wristband checkers stationed at the entrances of the "Beaches" to ensure folks don't sneak in. I presume they also monitor for any outside food or drink, which are also PROHIBITED! The kids enjoyed the zip line, obstacle course, and human hamster wheels. But at a cost of over $200 for just a couple hours of water play, I'm thinking sun splash might be a better option in the future. You never know.... Maybe I'll be back if the kids want to return. I'll know better next time. If I come back I will definitely bring an easy-up and ice water, as they do allow these items. read more

WOW. Brought my kids out for the Learn to Ride event ($5 for first timers) and they had a blast. The employees and volunteers were so helpful and patient! This was a great, affordable way for us to try wake boarding and now that I know which kids want to try more, we're willing to come back and pay full price.. which was obviously the point of the event right? SMART I did read the other review prior to coming and here are some takeaways/thoughts: - No outdoor food or drink: Eat a hefty breakfast before you go. There is a Snack Shack on site which IMO was pretty affordable. A full pizza for $33, a refillable souvenir cup option (like most large amusement parks), and adult beverages for $7 to name a few. You can bring a refillable water container. - Free areas: The viewing dock to watch your kids wake board is pretty big and comfortable. Theres also a small, non swimmable, beach that you can lay a blanket/umbrella. - Showers, bathrooms, changing areas are very clean I hope to come back to try the rest of their amenities read more
