I have some of my fondest memories from this school. Cloverly is an elementary school for 4th-6th grade. It is one of the 3 elementary schools for the Temple City School District for this age level. It has been a California Distinguished School long before I had attended in 1997. Cloverly has excellent teachers and I can still remember some of my fondest childhood memories at this school. I can still remember my homeroom teachers' names - Mrs. Jarvis, Ms. Felsinger, and Mr. Lee - all wonderful teachers.

He is quite shy and sensitive, so we were a bit worried about this environment change. However, he had a really great teacher when he started and all the staff were all so welcoming and kind. This really helped him start liking school and being around his peers has also helped him start talking, like a lot. He hasn't stopped yapping since. This is a diaper free school, so the teachers and aids helped with potty training. They were attentive and we never had an issue with potty accidents. All the teachers on campus are very friendly and are professional. Any accidents, no matter how small the injury is, they will provide you with a report. They have an on campus cook who provides delicious lunch for the kids. My son ate vegetables?! Must be very yummy, or peer pressure. I thank all the kids who provided a good example of eating veggies. Ypv also has a lot of fun activities that keep kids engaged. They celebrate most major holidays and invite vendors to come perform fun shows for the kids. They also have events such as pony riding, train rides, field trips to the movies and indoor playgrounds, carnival games set up by teachers, snow day, and water play on school playground. My son thoroughly enjoyed snow days and the pony rides every year. As a parent, I looked forward to their Christmas performances to see how my son progressed throughout the years. YPV has a more academically driven program while also integrating development of self independence. My son learned his ABCs, colors, shapes, and can count to more than 100 by the time he left for public school. His coloring skills has greatly improved and he's able to write his name and simple words. As a full time working parent, I appreciate all the academic support the teachers have given my son. Compared to the other day care options nearby, we found that YPV is reasonably priced and we really liked the school environment. I am counting down the days when my youngest can start attending this school!

I had to write this review after our parent teacher conference at our kids Kindergarten, YPV really…read morehas prepared our kid and more We had our little one come to YPV since he was 2 years old until the end of summer just when he would start kindergarten. YPV has daycare for 2 years old all the way up to Kindergarten themselves. It was very hard for us to have family take care of our kids when we have to work and get home late, they are able to have their teachers there until 6pm latest pick up. When our first oldest went to YPV he was very shy and and scared of people (he was born covid, and we had no one around except ourselves). We had started his potty training but he was not doing well. When we enrolled him to YPV, he cried every day for 3 month's straight while being dropped off to school (it's normal for kids to cry for weeks, but it was understandable for our kid). Note: when your child is enrolled and needs potty training, the tuition is a little more expensive and will decrease back to normal tuition once they are able to use the potty themselves with assistance. They also provide you all the information you need to continue the potty training at home. Gradually he starting babbling much more and being more happy around people with less social anxiety during his first year at YPV. He was able to be potty trained by 3, and would understand using the potty #1 and #2 when he needed it. YPV kept my kiddo engaged and learning the whole time the 3 years he was there. There was never a day I told him, "it was time for school" and he would say he didn't want to go. The teachers there are good and care about the students. They provide lunch and snacks. Shout out to the parents that create goodie bags for their kids bdays, it made my kid really happy and we reciprocated also. They learn how to behave around other kids without being rowdy and we get progress reports of how well they are doing in class academically every quarter. By TK, the kids are already writing some words and can read some basics. I was just at a parent teacher conference at my kid's Public elementary school just yesterday where they were going over their curriculum for kindergarten. Counting up to 100, phonetic reading words, basic sight words, starting addition and subtraction, cutting skills, dexterity drawing coloring.... my kid can do them all already thanks to YPV! But I also have to credit my wife for going over homework with our kid (at TK , YPV teachers start giving some homework to prepare our kid for kindergarten) And you also need to read books with them at home and practice sight words. With what you do at home, and how the teachers help them exceed at school, I'm constantly surprised how much my kid knows. On another note, Summer School at YPV has way more activities and field trips. They have contractors for train rides, science shows, magic shows, puppet shows, petting zoo's, kids train rides, water play with spraying. Last year, if enough kids signed up for tickets, were able to rent out a movie theater to watch Minions. Parents and kids had a chance to experience a movie without the chance of our kids being noisy being a nuisance cause other movie goers and was a good chance to teach them how to behave in this setting. My kid was also really happy to ride an on actual full sized School Bus. There's also a snow day during winter where they bring in a snow machine to make snow in the playground area and the kids can play there for the next day or 2 till it melts. With a small snow slide too. My other kid is almost two and we've already gotten a spot at YPV for her, we're lucky to have such a great place near by.

Looking back, many of my behaviors were signs that I was struggling, but they were often misunderstood. One of my biggest challenges was a laughing tic that was outside of my control, along with difficulty communicating. In third grade, a teacher was talking to me when I had a laughing tic at the wrong moment. Instead of understanding that it was involuntary, the reaction was annoyance. A friend who witnessed the interaction decided to stop being friends with me afterward. Experiences like this left me feeling embarrassed and isolated. I also remember having a severe meltdown in second grade caused by a misunderstanding. I was sobbing in the middle of class and felt ignored. Other students did not understand what was happening and accused me of making fun of them. Over time, I experienced teasing, belittling, and social isolation. Because my behavior seemed unusual to others, I was often treated as the problem instead of someone who needed support. I wish there had been accommodations available, such as access to a counselor or more support for communication difficulties. The laughing tic was clearly outside of my control, and it would have helped if teachers had explained that to other students instead of allowing assumptions to form. My experience at Baldwin Stocker continues to affect me today. I still struggle with feeling secure, trusting others, and believing in myself. Looking back, I wish teachers had given me the benefit of the doubt instead of labeling me as a problematic student. My message to the school is simple: give grace to the students who seem difficult. There may be much more going on than what you can see. My advice to parents is to take your child's concerns seriously and communicate with the school when something does not seem right. A child does not need a diagnosis to deserve understanding, compassion, and support.
