I always get treated by Dr. Loy who is the kindest doctor I have ever met. I have always had extreme dental anxiety due to previous experiences and was terrified of getting the much needed work done on my teeth. Dr. Loy and her team extracted my wisdom teeth using conscious sedation and it was so quick and easy, and I was very comfortable and at ease. I have also had multiple cavities filled so far and every time I go I leave feeling more confident that I can let go of my prior dental fears. Throughout my interactions with him, he consistently carried himself in a manner that was dismissive, condescending, and lacking in basic courtesy. At no point did I feel that he viewed my concerns as valid or that he approached his responsibilities with professionalism. Instead, he behaved as though providing care was a favor rather than his duty. I entrusted him with redoing a crown specifically because he assured me that the result would match the original. Had I known this would not be the case, I had no issue returning to Dallas to have the work completed by the original provider. When I informed him that the color of the replacement crown was incorrect, he responded with an inappropriate and insulting remark, stating that my teeth were "yellow" and that the crown matched. In 42 years, I have never had a dental professional, or anyone, make such a comment. In fact, I routinely receive compliments on how beautiful my teeth are. I conducted myself with professionalism to avoid jeopardizing the license and career I have worked extremely hard to build. However, I will not subject myself to further mistreatment. I will not return to Dr. Rodriguez for any future care, and I intend to file a formal complaint regarding his conduct and the quality of treatment I received. You should be able to do more for the pain. That's what pain killers are for. I should not have to go through all this just to get a little bit of comfort. I don't know what's going on but pain killers are for people that are in pain. That's why they are made. Just because some people decide to kill themselves by being stupid with drugs that they aren't supposed to take doesn't mean I should being going through all this. Let the people that need what they need get what they need.
