Always a good experience at West! Stopped in for a flight and dessert on a Friday night. We were able to grab a high top inside. The team always has wonderful recommendations on which wines to order and why and they never miss. The chocolate cake was divine. Plenty of parking out front. Definitely recommend for a date night or girls night out.

Fresh Cherry Tomato Burrata Board with Rose tasting. Excellent! Always a great time at West

Food was amazing. Did the wine flight which was also really fun. Mark was our waiter and he was great.

Very beautiful and minimal inside. Service was exceptional. I appreciated the wine menu it had a lot of variety. The menu could use more vegan & fish options. Overall I was impressed and can't wait to go back.

For this month's Sigma Chi Brotherhood meeting, we reserved the private tasting room at West Wine Tasting Room, and it couldn't have been a better choice. The space was intimate yet spacious--perfectly suited for our group of ten. A room built for good wine and better conversation. We were hosted by none other than Joshua Klapper of Timbre Winery out of San Luis Obispo. Grounded, charismatic, and the kind of guy who could've easily been one of us--Josh brought more than just his wines; he brought warmth and wit. You felt like you'd known him from college, or maybe the corner bar back home. The flight? Four wines--one white, followed by a red blend, a Syrah blend, and finally, a bold Cabernet Sauvignon. The pours were generous enough that, by the end, I found myself creating a little "King's Cup" from the excess. Call it a brotherhood ritual or just good fun--either way, it worked. Our hostess and sommelier for the evening was equally memorable--a tall glass of champagne herself, with sun-kissed skin, blonde hair, and a smile that lit up the room. She carried the evening with grace and charm, keeping the mood light and the pours steady. Let's just say, she had the group just as captivated as the wine. And the pizza? Let's not forget that. Flawless dough with a perfect powdered crust, rich tomato sauce, slices of spicy salami, and fresh basil leaves that added just the right amount of pop. It was the kind of bite that makes you slow down and savor. The decor leans toward classic minimalism--clean lines, modern accents, and an unpretentious elegance that complements the wine without trying to steal the show. We left with full bellies, buzzing spirits, and stories that will definitely get retold at our next gathering. West Wine Tasting Room delivered the perfect mix of flavor, hospitality, and connection. A night well spent--and one I'll be talking about long after the last pour.

We hosted a private event at West Tasting Room, and I can't say enough wonderful things about the entire experience. From start to finish, everything was flawless. Amy was incredible during the planning process -- so helpful with the menu, quick to respond, and thoughtful about every detail. Communication was 10/10. And the day of the event, Lyndsay was an absolute dream to work with -- attentive, kind, and on top of everything. The wine was amazing, the food was delicious, and the ambiance was warm, inviting, and just perfect for celebrating with all of our favorite people. Every single staff member went above and beyond to make sure we had the best night ever. We'll absolutely be hosting more events here in the future. Amy and Lyndsay-- thank you for sharing your beautiful space with us. I'm still over the moon (and maybe a little teary!) thinking about how perfect everything was.

Yesterday we treated 2 of our "Mother" friends to an outstanding Mother's Day brunch at West Tasting Room. The 'Brunch & Bubbles' flight was the perfect celebratory touch, paired with Chef Alberto's beautifully curated grazing boards. The atmosphere was sophisticated yet relaxed, making it a great spot to slow down and enjoy the day. Special thanks to the knowledgeable staff of Peter and Sydney on duty who made the wine tasting portion so approachable and fun!

We had the best experience the other night for our friend's birthday and I'd definitely come back in a heartbeat. Shoutout to Yelp Elite & CM Jara S. for putting this spot on our radar. This tasting room is off Thousand Oaks Blvd and doesn't have that curb appeal per se as it's in a business center looking building. However, what is awaiting you inside is the cutest wine bar and lounge, totally night and day from the outside. At least the signage was good on the outside and we were able to find parking in their own lot so that was a win! Again, the interior of west tasting room is fun and inviting. I love their wine wall to the right when you walk in and at night they keep this spot dimly lit which I appreciated to create a fun and romantic mood. The real win of the night was reserving their private back room for events / celebrations. Highly recommended if you are coming here to celebrate a birthday or similar event. We loved having our own space and we are a loud bunch so it worked out perfectly. The decor in the room was super cute and they had a custom sign up for our friend's birthday which was a lovely touch. Make a reservation for this spot on the weekends as it's definitely a popular spot. They have an impressive food menu and wine menu. I love variety and sometimes that is missing with some tasting rooms but not here. 5/5 stars for the food and wines. We shared their large charcuterie board and their burrata arugula pizza. Both were lovely and perfect for sharing. I'm impressed with their food menu alone. I'm truly no expert at wine but I like variety which this spot has. Very happy for their wine selection. A lot of the bottles were $45+ and $15 for a glass of wine. Given that I liked all three wines that I tasted I was pretty pleased. 5 star wines for me and my preferences. I had the rose, orange wine, and moscato and all were 10/10. It's hard for me to find wines I like as I'm always looking for something sweet or mild but here I found my selection! Service was pretty good overall. I would say friendliness was a 5/5 and attentiveness sometimes went down just a little because they were super busy! So the intention and acknowledgement of wanting to give us stellar service was there, we could just tell they were slammed so there were moments we waited a little bit but the vibes were good and we made due without issue. All of the staff we interacted with were nice and they made us feel welcome from start to finish. I am so glad I was introduced to this wine bar and I'd definitely be back because the atmosphere, menu, and service were very good overall.

My friend and I came on a Friday night to finally try out West and we were very happy with our experience! It's fairly small inside, especially on a weekend I'd recommend trying to make a reservation. Luckily they had some spots open outside on their small patio and it was a beautiful evening. Service was great; everyone had great personalities and were super helpful and on top of everything. Now onto the wine and food - delish! They have a rotating menu of wines so that will differ, but they explained it well to us and we both enjoyed a flight where we let them pick for us based on what we told them we liked and I had another glass of my favorite from the flight after. We both got pizzas which were super tasty, wood fired type pizzas. The cheese pizza was super tasty even for a simple cheese, and I got the ricotta and leek which I loved, especially with my white wine. We'll definitely be back to try more wines next time as well as their olive oil cake!

A great local place in TO that serves some great wines and bites. I ordered their orange wine, burrata and prosciutto pizza and cheese board. Everything was great and will return someday again!

One of my favorite spots to enjoy a good glass of wine. They also have excellent pizza. My favorite is their mushroom truffle sage pizza. The staff here is so knowledgeable and friendly. I also love that they make wine feel more accessible to those of us who don't know all the jargon but still want to be able to communicate what we enjoy about wine They have lots of seating options from high tops to more casual home style seating of comfy chairs around coffee table and even an event room. This place is always a good time and when full can be a little noisy but not in an overwhelming way. Often it's a super chill space with great wine.

The food was good and complemented the wines really well! Kale salad- the dressing makes the salad, it has a strong lemon flavor (so if you don't like that, don't order it). The 2 boards that we ordered were great as well, great mix and variety of flavors. Pizza- really well made and fresh, had a very mild mushroom flavor, but the truffle really came through. Even though the food was great, it is on the pricier side! The wines are always a hit! Amazing, smooth and a great variety no matter what week or month you go. I tend to always ask for the most popular choices at the time or the employee's favorites. The ambiance is very intimate and nice. It is a very small tasting room, so not much space for private conversations. But most parties were just talking amongst themselves. This is one of the reasons I am taking off maybe half a star. It almost seemed to be too small, at least at the time/date I went. It is counter only service, the staff does come around to serve you the food and wines (and clean up used plates, etc.). The cooking staff were amazing, every time they came out, they were so helpful and friendly.

First time here with a few girlfriends and loved it! Service was great, everyone was friendly and helpful, sommelier was so helpful with her explanations of the wines. We each had our own flights, and shared a charcuterie board and 2 pizzas (party of 4). Wines were great BUT the pizzas were even better! I did not expect such amazing pizzas. We had the mushroom one which was good but the leek ricotta one was amazing! They have a beautiful private room too so if you're a big group, try and get that room. Otherwise the main room is pretty cozy but loud if it's busy. There are tables outside on the patio but they overlook the parking lot. Overall a great experience, will definitely be back, especially for the pizza!

As pescatarians, we found the menu somewhat limited. While the food was competently prepared and attractively presented, it did not justify the final bill of $213.77. The meal began with a complimentary amuse-bouche of burrata cream on watermelon tasting which was elegant and flavorful, but small. For starters, we ordered the Hamachi, Salmon Tartare Tacos, and Smoked Trout Toast. Each dish had an interesting concept, but none stood out. The salmon and tartare were ground so finely that they lacked the texture and freshness we expected. For our entrées, we had the Tomato & Burrata and the Sea Bream. The sauce accompanying the burrata was excellent and was the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, the sea bream itself was slightly overcooked. We also tried two non-alcoholic drinks: a hibiscus mocktail and a lychee lemonade. Both were pleasant but unremarkable. For dessert, we ordered the peach galette and the chocolate dessert. They were nicely presented but tasted average. The chocolatine contained croissant bits. Given the restaurant's prices, we expected desserts to be better curated and with memorable flavors. Instead, they reminded us of supermarket-quality desserts. Overall, this is a beautiful restaurant with excellent service, but the food did not live up to either the presentation or the price. We'd consider returning for the atmosphere, but not for the value.

Last December, a friend came across The Cave while looking for a place to have lunch in Ventura and…read moresuggested we give it a try. I'm really glad he did because it's the kind of place I probably wouldn't have found on my own. The first thing that caught our attention was the self-serve wine dispensers lined with bottles ready to sample. We had a lot of fun walking back and forth, looking over the different selections, and deciding what to taste next. Being able to sample wines by the ounce before committing to a full glass made the whole experience feel interactive. I especially liked that I could compare different Cabernet Sauvignons side by side, which isn't something you get to do very often. After trying a few different Cabernets, Chimney Rock ended up being my favorite. The dining room added to the experience. The cave-like ceilings, warm lighting, and comfortably spaced tables made it easy to settle in, enjoy our lunch, and catch up without feeling cramped or rushed. If you enjoy trying different wines, it's easy to lose track of time here. We started with a cheese plate, which turned out to be much more generous than I expected. It came with a nice assortment of cheeses, crisp apple slices, grapes, candied walnuts, crostini, and a savory relish on the side. It was a great dish to share with our wine. My friend ordered the tuna poke tower, and we shared the cheese flatbread and sweet potato fries. I went with the Original Cave Salad with salmon, which came with a generous piece of perfectly cooked salmon over fresh greens, apples, grapes, walnuts, and blue cheese. Everything tasted fresh, and the portions were generous enough that we left completely satisfied. One thing I appreciated was that we never felt rushed. Lunch naturally turned into an afternoon of catching up, comparing notes on the different wines, and deciding which pours we wanted to try next. Before we left, we wandered through the wine shop one more time. If you discover a favorite during lunch, you can pick up a bottle before heading home, which is a nice touch. I'm really glad my friend found this place. The next time I'm in Ventura, it'll definitely be on my list again.

Had a baby shower scheduled on a Saturday and left completely disappointed. Firstly, we scheduled…read morethis event and paid a deposit well over 6 weeks ago. The day before, the owner Michele couldn't seem to find the paperwork where we discussed menu, family style, decor, budget etc. Thankfully, we went in the day before to double check everything. Not only were we met with a misogynistic retort to everything we talked about but he did not clarify any details that we later found out would be important. The day of the event, we accidentally hit a bottle of wine bringing in the decorations. Total accident! During the party, we had to constantly find our server (super nice guy but terrible service) to take drink orders, to take food orders, and to clear the table and bring to go boxes. Drinks weren't refilled. We cut and served the cake we brought. Then our bill comes and surprising to us, we were charged a room fee (which I confirmed they DID NOT have prior to booking), charged a cake fee (just for them to store it in their fridge and NEVER told there would be a fee for bringing a dessert, despite Michele asking the day before if we were bringing our own or using them for dessert), and he charged us $50 for the bottle we accidentally broke. With all these extra charges, in addition to already paying a deposit, we were way over the previously discussed budget. I never would have agreed to his idea of everyone ordering individual dishes instead of family style plus his outrageous extra fees had I know it was going to blow the budget. He had every opportunity to tell us there is a cake fee (never have I EVER had to pay a fee to bring a cake- even our server said he felt it was in poor taste to charge us for that). We refused to pay the room fee because we already put down a deposit and were never told there would be these extraneous charges! The terrible ending happened when I slipped and fell (8 months pregnant) in the front of the restaurant RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE OWNER, who stood over me as I was on the ground, and said "you must have slipped on the wine you spilled." Never offered concern, never offered to help me and never apologized. A staff member from the kitchen ran out to help me despite Michel being an arms length from me, looking down on me. Such a disgrace. My dress was dirtied from their floor and I was left with bruises on my knees the next day. No wet floor sign, clearly the floor wasn't cleaned up properly or dried. We will never patronize this restaurant again. What was meant to be a beautiful event turned into a calamity met with a chauvinist owner who lacks customer service and compassion.
