If it were solely up to me, I would get married in yoga pants and a ponytail...but we make sacrifices for the person we love. Pros of my visit: Plenty of parking, even in the back. The store has a large selection. The front of the store has formal dress, quinceañera dresses, and even some wedding accessories. The wedding gowns are in the back, sorted by size. Some of them are NWT (new with tags), but most are pre-owned and gently used. There are name brands there. I saw a few Maggie Sotero dresses. No pushy salespeople, friendly and welcoming owner. Cons: The dressing rooms are small and there's no air circulation. Expect to get a workout trying on dresses. You go through the dresses yourself and pull off the rack. I sort of expected a little more since they advertise offering appointments to try on wedding dresses. Walk-ins are accepted too....not sure why you need an appointment for since you're going through the gowns yourself. The prices...woah. I know how consignment works- everyone needs to make a profit (seller and the store), but I've seen brand new dresses for less. Worth a trip if you're just browsing. 3 stars.

J.crew Factory is great for their basics but they really have a lot of cute dresses, skirts, pants and more. The quality is a little different from the non factory store, but I've still been happy with items I've purchased. There is definitely room for shopping at both. I went to the counter to make my purchase. The cashier was helping someone else so another employee came to help me. He was really welcoming, upbeat and helpful. My sale was quick and easy. I had a terrible experience at the San Marcos store and haven't been back since so I was a little apprehensive. After this visit, I will definitely return in the future. The service level is what I am accustomed to having been both a J Crew and Factory store customer for years. As an added bonus it's much closer to me than the other locations.

Unfortunately, the overall experience with We Are Fabrics was disappointing because of the timeline and communication. When I first went in to select my fabric, I explained that I was hoping to have the project completed as quickly as possible. Since it was a custom job requiring the upholsterers to come to my home for measurements, I specifically asked about scheduling. I was told the project would probably take about six weeks. Instead, it took approximately 12 weeks from the time I placed my order and paid my deposit until I received my cushions. As the weeks went by, I had to call several times for updates. That's when I was told the upholsterers were extremely busy and backed up. I completely understand that delays happen, but I wish that had been communicated when I first started the project. Had I known the upholstery department was already booked out, I would have had realistic expectations and been much less frustrated by the delays. If you're considering We Are Fabrics, I think you can expect excellent craftsmanship. Just be sure to ask for a realistic timeline before starting your project.
