I just took her class to be a bartender and I'm so glad I did Passing the exam for ABC certification is not nearly enough to make anyone prepared to enter the profession to be a bartender. Most of what we went over was not in the exam. Personally the more I know the more competent I feel. We had Sherrie and Varro (Gigs bartending) provide drinks for my birthday party last night. They did an amazing job and were a pleasure to work with. This was a last minute booking on our end. We could not have been happier. Sherrie was easy to work with and helped me figure out drinks for the drink list. She had a list of suggestions and I chose what I wanted. She put it all together and even handled the shopping (all within a week's time, very last minute). This made it so much easier for us. She had a great bar set up and my guests were very impressed. My mother recently had a housewarming with around 30-35 people and stumbled upon Gigs Bartender when searching for bartenders in the area. We are extremely dissatisfied with the lack of professionalism Sherrie, the bartender, showed us when we hired her to bartend at our wedding this past summer. Sherrie arrived late to our wedding so we wrote her an email and asked for our tip back. Sherrie's response in an email was to deny that she was late, and she complained about the amount of glassware we had waiting there for her (that it was too much), and she was very insistent that we were in the wrong. We eventually received our tip, after having to ask for it a second time, and along with it was enclosed a nasty letter about how we were to blame. Overall, a very disappointing experience, we would not use her again nor would we recommend her to anyone else. read more
