I am very unhappy with this place, I had an appointment with P.A. Maine Kate she recommended testing. To two weeks finally had test done, 2 staff members had no compassion asking to turn with no help placing pillow or giving a hand to get up. Not checking on Bleeding from needle pokes,I had to ask for a bandaid unbelievable. Another two weeks for appointment on results. Recommended orthopedic surgeon and all paperwork would be sent to orthopedic doctor. No word in two weeks from anyone, called and of course you can never have anyone answer the phones left a message for Melissa as to where did we stand with the referral to the orthopedic doctor. Another week past with lots of pain I called again of course I had to leave a message again asking what has happened to the paperwork for the orthopedic doctor, I was very upset message read--- I would be posting a review, I was in a lot of pain which I they probably didn't care and Maybe going on social media with this. Within Minutes they couldn't face me with a call Melissa send me a text stating she was sending the paperwork to give orthopedic doctor a couple of hours to process referral. Unbelievable how long it took, stating they were short staff when I've gone to that office there's always two people on the front and there's always more that walk in at least total of four staff having conversations bringing in their plates of food very unprofessional and very rude. I had an appointment with Dr.Shah who is an amazing neurologist but the customer service and scheduling is completely horrible. I had an appointment at 11:00 and waited an hour and the doctor did not see me at all. Called the front desk and the lady was very unprofessional and rude. The office closes at 12:00 and did not even get to speak to my doctor. Do not go here at all it is not worth your time. You will not even be able to see or speak to your doctor and their customer service gets 0 stars. read more

I've suffered from migraines for over 10 years and tried everything: acupuncture, pain shots in my neck area, Botox, massage, etc. I finally had a doctor subscribe Sumatriptan back in 2015. This medication definitely helped. A lot. Now I had a way to get rid of a headache. However, I had headaches 3 times a week so even though this medication worked, I was still tired of the constant headaches. I moved to Gilbert in October 2018 and made an appt with Gilbert Neurology, and it changed my life. I am now on a low dose daily medication and am virtually headache free. Called to schedule an appointment because my insurance referred me here.. Annette (sp?) answered the phone and was beyond un-helpful. All my questions seemed to be a major bother and she could care less if I set up an appointment to be seen here.. I explained my insurance co. sent me here because they were in my network and she still wanted to ask me tons of qualifying questions....HELLO my insurance company sent me here, yes you take my insurance.. Urgent care told me I needed an MRI and told me they would write the order.. I figured I would see a Dr. to have that personal experience but sheesh, I was not wanted as a patient here. Annette told me it would be better to have urgent care write the order since their book was filling up into March/April. I would be livid if my employee's were turning paying customers away. Dr P. Shah - We had a 9:00 appointment with Dr. P. Shah. The receptionist told us he would be late for work today. We waited in a room. When he arrived, he did not look happy. He talked to us a few minutes (this was our first appointment), and then prescribed two drugs. We asked about a follow up and he said come back in six months or a year. One of the drugs (QUETIAPINE FUMARATE) had a warning on it saying that "This medication is not approved for the treatment of dementia-related behavior problems." Okay... the patient is 83 years old. We requested something to lower anxiety. An hour after taking the drug, the patient went into a rage that lasted for 22 hours. It was a nightmare. Suicidal thoughts were in that rage. Horrible anger and shouting for the 22 hours until the drug wore off. The doctor seems to not know the side effects of the drugs he prescribes. read more

Cant speak to other Doctors if this office, but young, Dr. Rawson is rude and insolent if you ask questions about alternative ways to treat. She is a DO's so what's the deal with that? She is also speaks harshly to the patient when doing tests and the patient scores low. Well, the patient is there for a reason. Where is the the do no harm that she swore to ??? That skewed the rest of the tests because then the patient is intimidated !!! The tests did not seem appropriate anyway. The receptionist was kind until the appointment to go back and see the doctor was cancelled. Then receptionist was very short and curt when she found out we would not go back ! Don't go here if you have to see Dr. Rawson. VERY poor customer service. The receptionist was rude to me when I called to make the appointment, and shared concern about how long it took them to get back to me. It was as if I should feel lucky to have the appointment. They say they Simply Care on their website. The only thing they seem to care about, well this doctor anyway, is their bottom line. I used to question reviews on YELP. Not any more. Such a great experience. I was able to get a quick appointment with less than a week of turn around time. Office staff is very kind and gives plenty of information when asked. I was seen on time and visit was not rushed. My provider was very efficient and thorough and listened to my long list of concerns. Highly recommend. read more

I don't know if the clinicians here are qualified or not - my daughter's appointment was cancelled due to an insurance mix-up. The "experience" started a week ago, trying to make an appointment after an urgent referral from primary care. Brain issues are no small thing. Tried to make an appointment by phone several times a day for 2 days, did not reach a scheduler or get a call back. Went to the office in person and made an appointment. When we showed up for the appointment and turned in paperwork, were told the appointment had was cancelled because the secondary insurance is public, they only take private insurance. OK, good I said, we have that, it is the primary policy. They said sorry, can't do both. OK, said I, cancel the secondary insurance. They would not allow that. OK, said, I, I'll pay out-of-pocket for this visit. Sorry, said they, the appointment is already cancelled. WOW. Either they are REALLY concerned with archaic policy rules of public/private insurance, or they use "compliance" to keep out the riff-raff - i.e. those who qualify for public assistance. Doesn't matter now I guess, we need to go somewhere else before my daughter has a negative episode from her neurological issue. read more

Saw Dr. Hodgson for a couple of things. He gave me different options than an orthopedic doctor other than surgery and showed me my MRI and explained it in detail, which my orthopedic PA didn't do. Took the time to answer my questions and examine me thoroughly. Highly recommend. The place is hard to find in the office park... Watch for the signs to guide you. read more

Posting this review for the location at Gilbert & Higley Road, 1452 N. Higley Road, Gilbert, AZ 85234. My mother was last seen there in January 2019. For no apparent reason this office, specifically Dr. J. Rawson, authorized CVS pharmacy to double my 92-year-old mother's memory medication from 4 mg twice per day to 8 mg twice per day in August 2019, when the pharmacy called to request a refill of Galantamine HBr (which my mother has been taking 4mg twice a day for well over one year.) When I called to inquire about the increase in dosage I was told that the pharmacy had called in that increased dosage. My next question was, do the doctors not check patient charts when authorizing refills? This increase in dosage was NOT part of any continuing care protocol. The office has since been scrambling to figure a way out of their screw up in the three calls I have made to their office, and almost a week later I am ready to report them to the BBB and the AMA. Meanwhile, the CVS pharmacist has records which prove the refill was requested correctly but the doctor replied with the incorrect dosage. Had there been integrity within this Gilbert Neurology office when they first learned of their mistake then they would have apologized for their error and tried to make it right. Bottom line, if you value your loved one's health, find another provider. Had I given my mother this increased dosage without proper knowledge of potential side effects the damage could have been irreversible and she may not be with us today. read more

Very incompetent office staff; when we checked in, I asked if the hospital records had arrived. I was told that she was sure they were. Called back and the doctor had no records, no clue as to why we were there and wanted to know if we wanted to reschedule once the records were received. Checked with the pcp and they had faxed the records over the previous day. Checked with another person at Gilbert Neurology and they had the records. So spent $50. in Uber fees for nothing, no don't think we will reschedule. read more

This office is infuriating. My wife called ahead to let the office know that she might be on time or 1 minute late due to some road construction. They told her it would be fine. So she arrives 1 minute late and cancels her appointment. It would have been nice to have been told on the phone that 1 minute late is a deal breaker. read more

I hadn't seen My neurologist in 5 months because of Covid 19 and had telemed visit as my last time speaking with Celeste Fine, CNP. I have been off work for nearly 5 weeks because of severe neck pain and she was so kind and thorough when I went into the office for my visit. We discussed my medications, overall health, mental health. She performed a detailed thorough exam, did some tests in the office, and made outlines and a detailed plan for my treatment going forward. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my neurological health!!! Gilbert Neurology has been and remains in the Top Docs in Arizona for this reason!!!! read more

Had appointment scheduled for TWO months in advance and took off work for. When I got the to office, after a 30 minute wait, they told me they would have to reschedule because they did not have permission from the doctor for transfer of care - from a doctor I saw once a year ago and never followed up with. The appointment time was there and available she admitted; it was not an over book or staffing issue, they just refused to see me. I will just take my business and insurance elsewhere. Thank you for wasting my time and causing me to have to continue to deal with this pain for another 2 months while I book with a more caring provider. read more

First, let me start by saying that I highly recommend Dr. Beck as a neurologist but his support staff is horrible! I realized that I was out of refills on my Pradaxa so I called my pharmacy for a refill. I was informed that Dr. Beck had denied the prescription because it had been a year since I'd been seen. Ok, reasonable. I understand that, but their office never even called to inform me of this. I found out through my pharmacy the reason why it had been denied. That's number one. Number two, I immediately called the office to schedule an appointment. They couldn't get me in until February. Ok, again, that's fine, but I still need my medication! I explained this to the receptionist and she said I'd have to wait to be seen. I said, "listen, you can't just stop taking Pradaxa, it's a blood thinner and I can potentially die without it!" She then transferred me to Dr. Beck's medical asst. I called Monday, Tuesday, and again this morning and STILL no call back! The receptionist told me she had called back and left a message but I have repeatedly checked my voicemail and there is nothing there from her. Meanwhile, this is day 3 with no medication. My life is potentially at risk here and no one seems to care! As I've mentioned, I do really like Dr. Beck but I can't continue to put my health at risk because of his incompetent staff! In the future, you might want to call your patients to let them know they need to come in so this doesn't happen to someone else. I shouldn't have found out from my pharmacy that I needed to make an appointment before I could get a refill!! read more

Having been an RN for close to 40 years with Masters level nursing degree and experience. I have had very unprofessional experience with this group both as a patient in the hospital and in the office. No return calls except from minor office staff . Orders placed for wrong MRI's twice, and labs ordered without proper coding. Which then cost me several hundred dollars due to laziness and just non caring attitude. There are many better qualified doctors in the valley. Avoid this group at all costs. read more

I have no luck getting anybody to return my phone calls in a timely manner. I have asked them to send a copy of my EEG report to my primary care physician and they have yet to do it. I have yet to here from them about my report on my EEG. They need to have there staff retrained on customer or patient satisfaction. It has been 3 weeks since my EEG. I don't know why I have to wait so long to hear back from these people from something so important as someone's brain. read more

My PCP referred me to Gilbert Neurology for a nerve problem in my neck and I was very happy with the front office staff and the medical team, including the Neurologist and NP. They explained things to me and took the steps to get additional diagnostic tests needed to help figure out my problem. I find them very professional and compassionate. They did an excellent exam and didn't just depend on the reports. Most of all, trustworthy in my view. I was able to get an appointment after work so didn't have to take time off work. My NCS, MRI, and blood tests are now completed and looking forward to my follow up on Thursday to find out the plan of action to solve my problem. Was referred by Mercy Gilbert Hospital after my husband was discharged from the ER, called to make a follow up appointment and the front desk was extremely rude and unhelpful. Asking if we saw one of their doctors repeatedly. If I answer the question once, asking the same question over and over isn't going to get you a different answer. Then she asked about insurance which they will no longer accept in August, therefore denied me an appointment in June, by no longer accepting new patients. This is a referral from a hospital! I saw the doctor for ten minutes and payed my co-pay but then they sent me a bill for $49. I talked to my insurance and they said that I had a $100 deductible but the numbers don't add up. I don't believe they do their billing very well. I have never had to pay more than my co-pay at any doctors before. read more

I will never go back to this "practice". Its exactly what they are... practicing. Having worked with cancer patients, mental health, dementia and all other spectrums; I personally would never think a "neurology" center would punish a patient for forgetting which office they were going to.Sounds like neruro isn't really their specality afterall and the "practicing" need more training on symptoms. Having been a client of the Higley office prior; I went to that office on my scheduled appointment time,paid my copay ahead of time and filled out all my paperwork... only to be advised I was at the wrong office. I hauled butt faster than I should have to the other office - as they "said" they were calling the Mercy office to advise them I was running late....( I called the Mercy office twice to advise of my mistake with no answer) ( one patient was in the lobby when I walked in) ... I get to the office in 12 minutes late and was advised that I went over my "10 minute "window and therefore I would need to be rescheduled. I was straight up turned away after waiting a month to get into an appointment -22 miles from home. With ZERO empathy, care or consideration. Now from my knowledge drs don't spend the quality 99214 ( 30 minute office visit) we are charged for in general -with being a "new patient "as a prime excuse ; I didn't even receive a 99212 ( 10 minute office visit ).The Drs office did made sure to charge my debit card for the full amount for a visit I never received that day. Dr. Celeste Fine even wrote up a fake patient summary - and I NEVER saw the Dr as she turned me away with no care. If I could give this place less than .0001 stars I would. They certainly are not stars in my eyes and have been a complete neuro headache. The whole office staff is a complete disappointment and not anywhere I would recommend my worst enemy. With this bitter feeling left from the office and the reality of my life being left in "their hands" , I would be scared to see how "important" I really would be if there was something life threatening and I would need to rely on this kind of service. I have to say this practice is quite odd. I have been a patient with the practice for almost 2 years. We received a letter that they would no longer be accepting our insurance, which I completely understand. I give the NP Celeste Fine 5+ stars. As I have been quite satisfied with the management of migraines that I have had through the NP Celeste Fine at the office, I offered to just CASH PAY for all services received at the office. They informed me that they are unable to accept cash pay. What office will turn you away if you are willing to pay for everything out of pocket? I guess I will have to find a new place to be seen. I've seen numerous neurologists over the years, and this is my favorite of all of them. I have seen Celeste Fine, NP, Dr. Beck, and Dr. Joy. Celeste got me to the point where I have very few migraines each month. She also helps treat my cluster headaches, which is a huge task on its own. I've never had any issues with the front desk, and they've always returned my voice mails. They have been incredibly helpful in getting my neurological health as good as it can be. I can't thank them enough! Prior to seeing Gilbert Neurology, I was having 15 or more migraines a month. Now I have maybe 1 or 2 every couple of months. read more

I had a appointment for 11 am was asked to arrive at 10:30. I live 3.5 hours away so I left with enough time to spare just in case. When I showed up for my appointment they told me it was canceled. I told the lady working the desk I needed to get the new patient paperwork. She was very rude and not helpful at all. She was a snot when she said well we called to tell you at 7:30 am. I explained I lived 3.5 hours away. Driving from a rural area you don't have service when traveling like you do in a big city. She was like well you will just have to reschedule sorry. Nothing I can do. The soonest we have is mid January... How the hell does a business run with one tech and no back up? I understand people get sick and what not. But this is ridiculous. Your incompetence is now costing me more time and money to run up and down the road. More time away from work, spending money that doesn't grow on trees and now having to rearrange my drs appointments to fix your screw ups as if it didn't take long enough to get the first appointment scheduled. These guys are the absolute worst! As a physician myself I've seen it all and the out of control rudeness and unprofessionalism of the staff is a whole new order. The physicians have absolutely no control of their office and the young girls that run it especially the one that answers the phone, are rude immature nasty arrogant lazy and unbelievably annoying to try to deal with. In trying to send them a patient for a procedure that would've made them a lot of money, the girl that answered the phone flat out told me that I had never sent a referral even though I had talked to their office three times earlier in the week about the referral I sent. It was for an ASAP evaluation. I don't know what these physicians are thinking, because their last office manager, Judy, was very professional and good at her job. If the rude young snippet who is answering the phone now is any indication of the quality of their office I'd run far away. She shows great compassion, and takes the time to listen to any questions/concerns. The rest of the staff is always very kind and upbeat. Horrible office! Don't waist your time. They told me they take my insurance and I gave them all of my information as usual with any doctors office. I waited over a month to see this doctor when I'm having a huge neurological problem. Two days before my appointment they called me and cancelled my appointment telling me they don't take my insurance. Really! They are clueless and completely incompetent! If this is how they treat patients it's not an office you want to deal with because the inevitable is that you will wind up with major problems! Be ware of this office!
