I have to get my soda from a soda machine because the RPAC in the basement near the lockers only takes payments from students and facility who are members of the RPAC, but they have huge space for working out, taking fitness classes, and another pool that has 8 lanes (25 yards) that has a movable floor and waterslide area for families. I took the Fearless Falling class, held between 3:00 to 4:00 on Wednesdays and I learned so much. The senior lunch on Wednesdays and Fridays is only $4; you may choose to dine in or takeaway. Near the dining hall sits a huge cabinet filled with puzzles ranging from 300 to 1,000 pieces. Their generous policy is that you may bring puzzles or take as many puzzles as you like. The pool tables are always in use by smiling gentlemen and ladies. There is a quilt drop-in a couple of days a week. I'm impressed with how upbeat and cheery everyone is and I'm glad the city has created such a welcoming space for its seniors.

Off to the side there is a hockey-themed climbing area for bigger kids, and a workout area for adults with a grownup-style climbing wall. There's a shelter nearby, and benches, and the whole park is nicely laid out. We'll be back.

I thought maybe it was at a school, but nope, at the rec center. Plenty of parking out back, of course. And a nice big playground. Baby K loved it. Slides, climbing stuff, etc. Plenty of benches for parents. The library next door for AC/potty/water breaks. Shade! No long walks for tired parents from the parking lot! We both enjoyed it.

Parking is set back a bit to allow for some trees and grass, and a small aviation memorial including a stone for the Challenger crew and a bench for North American Aviation. The building looks big from the front, but is wide though not deep. The workout area faces the front with nice big windows, and looks big- till you realize one wall is a big mirror, and the actual weight/machine area is tiny. Like, smaller than any other Y in town tiny. They have to put some machines in the halls. In a new building? Who designed this? Still, brand new machines in a clean space. Other areas in the building for cooking, daycare, classes, etc. Friendly staff. Just a weird setup, and though I'd come if I lived nearby, it is not worth any kind of trip.
