I've been swindled by two dentists in Summit County. In need of some attention to a tooth ache, I…read morewas prepared and had already been approved time off work to fly to my long time dentist on the East Coast. I figured it wouldn't hurt to visit Summit Dental for their evaluation of what was happening. A co-worker recommended this group and he gave me the impression from his experience that they were honest. I've only been there once, but I can say, so far so good. Cara my dental assistant was very personable and professional, Dr. Marcincin gave me the most thorough dental check up I have ever had in my life. She found the cause of my issue and referred me to Dr. Tony Kardelis in Frisco for a possible root canal, which I already suspected was the issue. She also did some minor grinding down of a filling, which by the way she kept checking in, like my beloved dentist back home, I presume she's a no pain and careful dentist. On my way out, front desk was awesome. I think it was Lyndsey who explained in detail everything my insurance covered, Delta Dental (which was the entire bill) and what I would likely be looking at at the Frisco office and how best to manage what's left of my benefits for this year. Looks like I won't be flying back to beautiful New Jersey just yet, though it would have been nice to see family. Thanks Summit Dental Group! I hope to have found a trusted office in Colorado.

Potentially unethical and dishonest insurance billing practices. Saw Steven Mitchell for a chipped…read morecrown, had x-ray, then Dr. Mitchell put a dental probe into my mouth to poke at the area for 3 seconds - and said no biggy, it can wait till you get back to Florida for repair at your home dentist. The office charged me $55 for a co-pay and billed my insurance for a pain treatment that I NEVER GOT! Insurance paid it as seen on EOB. Called office and insisted they correct both issues. Billing girl supposedly refunded my insurance company for the $103 they got for pain treatment they didn't deliver. Honest mistake? Or purposeful improper billing? Will never know! I suspect this billing to insurance for services not rendered - is common and rampant throughout the medical & dental practices. It is called INSURANCE FRAUD!

I had no cavities, yet it was the most painful cleaning I've ever experienced. On top of that, her bedside manner was poor, and she made several rude remarks throughout the visit. I returned in early July and unfortunately was scheduled with the same hygienist. Once again, the cleaning was extremely rough, and I left in pain. What prompted me to finally write this review was her behavior during this visit. After being scolded at my last appointment about my manual toothbrush, I had purchased an electric one--which she loudly ridiculed as "cheap." She even pulled it up on a screen to show me its price. I spent $60 on it, which is all I could afford, and I felt it had been doing a good job. Her comments were not only unnecessary but also incredibly humiliating. Even more concerning, she spoke very loudly about my personal medications and what I take them for, in a room separated only by dividers. This felt like a blatant disregard for HIPAA privacy standards. To make matters worse, when I went to check out, I asked if I owed anything and was told I actually had a $100 credit on my account. Apparently, I had been overcharged, and no one informed me. Because it had been over 30 days, they said they couldn't refund it to my card. Had I not asked, I wouldn't have known at all. I want to be clear that the doctor here has always been kind and professional. I've tried to give the benefit of the doubt, but I can't continue going somewhere that consistently causes me pain and embarrassment. I'd rather go to a provider where I have to pay a copay than continue being treated this way.
