This is the spot to be on Siesta Key! If you like live music , If you want that beachy feel of a restaurant, this is it ! The food is typical bar food and the service does lack at some points but I think with how busy it gets , it's decent . No not every server is in a great mood to serve you either but you get your drinks and you listen to some good bands and you'll be all set!:) it's a great spot to hang out and it's right near all the action so perfect starting or ending point for you might . Plenty of seating outside . The band area gets really busy especially on Saturday nights so come early to get a seat inside if you want to be close to the music

We stayed out on Siesta Beach for the holiday weekend. Through a friend's recommendation he said we must try the nachos at Gilligan's. The vibe during the day is beach and relaxed, but at night is where the party begins! Since it was Sunday afternoon after Thanksgiving there was a lot of seating available. Once seated we ordered some drinks and nachos with our server Hailey. Since it was pretty empty on this day we received our food hot and fast. These are not your standard nachos and should be ordered with a partner as the portion is massive. There is a layer of queso on the bottom and the meat/queso is layered throughout topped with lettuce, tomato and sour cream. Really enjoyed our dish and will be looking forward to going back for another round of nachos!

Good bar food. Fairly good service. They were really busy so it's to be expected. A little loud but that was not unexpected.

We visited this location for the first time over Thanksgiving weekend and had such a great experience. We sat at the bar and were immediately greeted with a warm smile from the bartender, Lauren. Lacey, the other bartender, was just as kind. Both were extremely attentive, welcoming, and constantly checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. It was happy hour, and the drinks were perfect-plus the appetizers were some of the best l've ever had! We will definitely be visiting this location again.

Such a cool spot, tiki bar, fun vibe! Right on the trolley stop for convenience. Our waiter was the best! We saw nearby tables getting the bottomless nachos served on a pizza pan! The couple next to us were too full to finish after eating half. My Shrimp topped black beans and rice bowl was spectacularly filling. Probably should have taken 1/3-1/2 home but I persevered! Hubby had coconut shrimp and a mule in a copper mug so he was happy, too.

Shaun, our waiter, was very friendly and attentive while he was taking care of us. Food came out in a timely manner, tasted fresh and portions were huge. For happy hour drinks, you have to order it from the bar, can't do it at the table. Live music was also inside , we were outside on the deck, but can hear the music just fine.

This was a great little find! The place was really beachy and fun! The service was good. Food was good. It was a moderate price. The piña colada was tasty. Will definitely hit this place up again on my next visit to Siesta key.

I've been to Gilligan's a few years back when I visited Siesta Key. We just had drinks and appetizers, but I remember I loved the vibe of this place. During my recent visit to Siesta Key, I stopped in again for dinner with my friends. We sat outside in the open, covered patio area, and even though it was a July evening, it was quite comfortable. We were greeted by Matthew, who did an amazing job from start to finish. Given this is a tourist town, he treated us with respect and pleasant hospitality. Extra waters were always brought to the table when they were running low and we never had to ask. He was top notch from start to finish and one of the reasons for my four-star review. We ordered the Bang-Bang shrimp as an appetizer (given they were out of the coconut shrimp). The sauce on the shrimp was fantastic! We also tried the Siesta Sunset from the "Tropical Exotics" menu. We added an extra rum shooter, and it was prominently placed upside down at the top of the glass with a garnish of limes, a cherry and an umbrella accompaniment. Cool presentation! For our food selections, we tried various market fish sandwiches, the Big Kahuna Burger and the Paradise Tacos. The portions were big and bountiful! My red snapper filet was almost twice the size of the bun (see picture)! It was expertly seasoned, firm, yet moist. It tasted as if it were caught right from the Gulf and placed on my plate. I chose sweet potato fries as the side, and it was a perfect meal at the end of a perfect day on the beach. Everyone was very happy with their meals, and we left in a content mood. Highly recommend after a day on the beach (or anytime, really).

Our driver suggested this spot for drinks. The hostess stand was busy so we headed to the bar. After perusing the many drink options on the menu I narrowed my choice down to a pineapple lemon drop and it did not disappoint. Strong, sweet and neat! We were outside so we couldn't see the live band but the music was great and had us singing along. The bartenders were very attentive and the locals were friendly. I was stuffed but if I ever return I will have to try the mountain of nachos that could have fed the whole town.

So much fun! Had the humongous nachos drinks and burger. The nachos are huge chips are light- felt like i could have had more ingredients. The burger was typical all American burger and the mai tai was excellent but not buzzy. Great time filling and will definitely pick up a gilligan tshirt next time.

Typical dive bar with gray choices for bites while drinking. Bar man was friendly and we enjoyed our wings, shrimp and whatever else we had.

(Hence the 4 stars vs 3) If you are stopping in for regular lunch or dinner, then I would go in with average expectations. My husband, son, and I popped in for lunch before the beach one day because I was, in fact, dying to try the chowder. It came out piping hot in a cute mug, totally overflowing. I scraped out every morsel. My baby really enjoyed it too! I always feel the need to get fried shrimp at least once on a beach trip, so I got shrimp and french fries. I asked for a side of a type of Ramailo to dip my fries in. It was just an average basket of shrimp and fries. My husband got gator bites and they weren't nearly as good as the ones we get in Ohio, which is saying something since skaters are caught fresh in Florida... The dipping sauce they came with was better than the gator bites themselves. We didn't park because we took the trolley, which dropped us off a few blocks away. Prices were fair for seafood in a vacation town. Our server was kind and attentive.

But there's a reason behind this. The owner is on site quite a bit it's nice to see him. Feel free to bring a dollar and staple a dollar to the ceiling or if you're a copper firefighter bring your patch and they will hang it proudly. When I'm on vacation I like my food very simple. A simple double smashburger and fries 100% does me in. For servers are definitely all smiling another staple and not really an expectation but I'm so glad to see it.
