The window where the food comes out looks like a converted VW van and adorable for the location. I ordered a pineapple lemon drop and it was really so good! Meaning, it didn't taste like I was drinking rubbing alcohol. Garnished with a cute pineapple wedge, I could drink 100 of them! As for food, I would strongly suggest The Native sandwich. We stopped by Gilligan's Island on a Saturday around 3:00 PM. The atmosphere was definitely the highlight of our visit--great live music, a fun vibe, and we were seated almost immediately. The service was good. Our food also came out surprisingly fast, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the food itself was just okay and didn't really live up to the atmosphere. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything we'd go back for, I had the burger and wasn't seasons. The bang bang shrimp also lacked the bang lol. We stayed out on Siesta Beach for the holiday weekend. Through a friend's recommendation he said we must try the nachos at Gilligan's. The vibe during the day is beach and relaxed, but at night is where the party begins! Since it was Sunday afternoon after Thanksgiving there was a lot of seating available. Once seated we ordered some drinks and nachos with our server Hailey. Since it was pretty empty on this day we received our food hot and fast. These are not your standard nachos and should be ordered with a partner as the portion is massive. There is a layer of queso on the bottom and the meat/queso is layered throughout topped with lettuce, tomato and sour cream. We visited this location for the first time over Thanksgiving weekend and had such a great experience. We sat at the bar and were immediately greeted with a warm smile from the bartender, Lauren. Lacey, the other bartender, was just as kind. Both were extremely attentive, welcoming, and constantly checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. I've been to Gilligan's a few years back when I visited Siesta Key. We just had drinks and appetizers, but I remember I loved the vibe of this place. During my recent visit to Siesta Key, I stopped in again for dinner with my friends. We sat outside in the open, covered patio area, and even though it was a July evening, it was quite comfortable. We were greeted by Matthew, who did an amazing job from start to finish. Given this is a tourist town, he treated us with respect and pleasant hospitality. Extra waters were always brought to the table when they were running low and we never had to ask. He was top notch from start to finish and one of the reasons for my four-star review. We ordered the Bang-Bang shrimp as an appetizer (given they were out of the coconut shrimp). The sauce on the shrimp was fantastic! We also tried the Siesta Sunset from the "Tropical Exotics" menu. We added an extra rum shooter, and it was prominently placed upside down at the top of the glass with a garnish of limes, a cherry and an umbrella accompaniment. Cool presentation! For our food selections, we tried various market fish sandwiches, the Big Kahuna Burger and the Paradise Tacos. The portions were big and bountiful! My red snapper filet was almost twice the size of the bun (see picture)! It was expertly seasoned, firm, yet moist. It tasted as if it were caught right from the Gulf and placed on my plate. I chose sweet potato fries as the side, and it was a perfect meal at the end of a perfect day on the beach. Everyone was very happy with their meals, and we left in a content mood. Our driver suggested this spot for drinks. The hostess stand was busy so we headed to the bar. After perusing the many drink options on the menu I narrowed my choice down to a pineapple lemon drop and it did not disappoint. Strong, sweet and neat! Hostess didn't even say anything to us. We had to tell her how many did not greet us and looked miserable. The queso dip is NOT queso. It's just white cheese and cream because they don't like to put spice in it, that was directly from the waitress's mouth. So it's basically just a cheese dip that has no taste whatsoever. I went to Gilligans Island Bar after we went to Siesta Key Beach for a long refresher. The area the restaurant is located is a lovely area with a lot of things to do, shops, foods, and anything you would love to do. To start off with drinks I order a lemonade and it tasted watered down and I could barely even drink even after stirring it, for appetizers we ordered white fish bites and they were phenomenal, and for dinner I ordered chicken tenders and fries, the fries were super good but the chicken was just mid, wasn't the best. Gilligan's Island Bar & Grill 2-1-25 Arrived there about 3:25pm on Saturday afternoon in Siesta Key. I must admit this place was just about packed even at that time. One thing to note parking can be a hassle especially if you have a Handicap person with you. There are some spots on the street in front, but they were all taking up and so was all other spots up the entire street. We had to go around the block a couple times until one opened in a parking lot at the end of the block and its 5.00 per hour for parking. Once inside they seated us fast and came right over to give us menus and tell us a couple things about the menu. Our Waitress Deirdre was fast on our drinks, and she knew the menu and explained a few things to us since it was our first times there. We all ordered the Market Fish Sandwich which you could choose from Grouper, White Tail, Mahi-mahi, Blackened, Fried or Grilled. We all chose the White Tail Fish to go on our Sandwiches. Two of us got Fries and one got Nachos & Salsa for a side. We also ordered 2 House Salads which had Lettuce. Tomato, Hard Boiled Eggs, Onions, Bacon, and Cucumbers. Our Salads came out fast and they were very good and larger than expected. As we were finishing our Salads our main orders came out. They looked so good and filled the plate. Our Fish Sandwiches were hot and very large with Lettuce, Tomato, Tartar Sauce, and a Lime Wedge on the side. This Fish Sandwich was very good, and the Blackened Seasoning was spot on. The Fries were out of this world good. Once we finished eating, we order a slice of Key Lime Pie. It also was good, and presentation was beautiful. I believe everyone needs to try this place the vibe is all beachy and the food and service is very good for a street side Tiki Bar. If you're looking for a lively place to grab a bite and have a few drinks on Siesta Key Gilligan's is a good place to start. The tiki vibe instantly puts you in a good mood. The dining is definitely casual and the menu a bit basic but the food is well prepared and fairly priced. Two of us had grilled grouper platters with a side of Black beans served in a cup over rice which was creative and recommended. The grouper was fresh but was perhaps a bit salty (can I comment on a salt water fish being salty - fairly certain they added salt). Also ordered were two grouper sandwiches with hearty servings of thick fries and a chicken wrap with fries. Everyone seems pleased with their meal. We also had chips and salsa. The salsa is excellent. The table next to us ordered a mountain of Nachos, will have to get that next time. We had three pina coladas, one virgin colada and some sort of pink drink in a pink souvenir cup. All of the drinks were very good. Service was friendly and attentive. Gilligans is more about a fun atmosphere than the food itself but you can get a decent casual meal here and your very own souvenir pink cup. read more
