We had about an hour wait so we walked around and looked in some shops while we waited. We sat outside which was nice. Our server was very nice. We ordered the hot street corn dip which was fantastic!! For our entree's I ordered the make your own extravaganzas with crab cakes, red potatoes and Brussel sprouts. Everything was so good and cooked right. My friend got the mahi tacos. There were 3 of them and had lettuce, tomatoes and a spicy crema sauce on them! The only thing I didn't like were the flies.

Super busy when we walked up ( always a good sign).. got sat right away, lost of seating.. feels local, servers are busy but not too much to forget about you. Got grouper bites, mahi tacos, and steamed shrimp.. grouper bites and shrimp were both delicious! The Cajun butter with the steamed shrimp was perfectly seasoned. The mahi tacos could have used a little more seasoning but over all were pretty good. Live music, lots of inside and outside seating.. would recommend for one night in siesta key!

Great service but was loud and crowded. It was St. Patrick's Day and packed. The oysters were fresh and delicious. Shucked to order. Drinks were boozy and fresh.

Had a great time here! Luckily we got in right away for happy hour. $12 for a dozen oysters! Can't beat that. Five star alone for having Chicago bears flag! We got the oysters, calamari, and corn dip. Everything was very good! Corn dip was spicy. Big size portions. Lively bar vibes. High top and low tables available. Next time I gotta put a dollar bill up!

Our second trip here in as many years and once again Dane was our server. A laid back atmosphere with live music in the heart of Siesta Key Village is hard to beat. Dane remembered us from last year and even remembered what I'd ordered as I wanted to get the same thing this year as far as the oysters order went. I almost got it wrong and she got it right. We had the Oysters Rockefeller and Parmesan Cheese versions along with a tasty Burger with Garlicky Beans and some Grouper Nuggets with Romulade Sauce, refreshments were a FloridaCrush and a Rum Stumbler...a nice chat with Dane was an added bonus.

This place has good reviews and I wanted to try it out. It was always busy and full of people, which is usually a good sign. We tried to stop by for happy hour but they had over an hour wait. When we finally sat down for dinner I really wasn't sure what I wanted to order. We started with oysters that were very fresh and plump and I got the peel and eat shrimp. The shrimp can be served cold or steamed. I thought the order would have more shrimp but it was filling. They have a homemade cocktail sauce which was good!

Cherry limeade and lemonade with kettle one

We always stay in an Airbnb right next door to SKOB when we visit Siesta Key, so it's become our tradition to make it our first stop on the trip. This time, we popped in on a Friday night, the live music outside was great, so we grabbed a couple drinks at the indoor bar while waiting for a table outside. My boyfriend had a cherry limeade and I went with a vodka lemonade. Both were a little on the light side (I even had to double check mine had vodka since I was getting over a cold and couldn't taste it much), but still refreshing. For food, we started with shrimp tacos. Since I'm allergic to dairy, I have to be careful with what I order. They were good, but even blackened, they didn't have a ton of flavor. The real star of the night, though, was the chicken and waffles. I actually thought it was a brunch-only dish, so I was thrilled to see it on the dinner menu. The portion was generous, absolutely piled with bacon, and the syrup/sauce had a spicy kick that made the whole dish unforgettable. I'd come back for that alone, time and time again. Our server was busy and not overly chatty, but she was polite and did a special birthday favor for my boyfriend, which made her awesome in my book. Between the atmosphere, the music, and those chicken and waffles, SKOB will always be a staple stop for us whenever we're in Siesta Key.

Wife and I stopped in for lunch, I ordered the grouper sandwich blackened with a side of coleslaw and wife had Atlantic haddock fish and chips. Beautiful outdoor seating, somewhat reasonably priced, sunny 65 degree February at noon what's not to love! Service was perfect, grouper sandwich cooked perfectly, very tender. Had sandwich on brioche bun with their tartar sauce, onion tomato and lettuce. Very fresh but messy. Cole slaw as a side also very good but nothing to write home about. Wife had fish and chips and I would order this dish myself if we returned. Very flaky haddock, a little greasy as to be expected but 3 large pieces. She got the fries with it which were good but not great. I do think if you're having a drink or 2 and taking a break from the beach this is perfect. We biked up and had water so I think a drink or 2 is where this establishment will shine. Pretty good value on siesta key. Enjoy!

Inside of the restaurant is filled with dollar bills throughout the restaurant.

What a gem of a restaurant to eat at in Siesta Key Village. I really had a good time at this restaurant, our waitress Lory was very friendly and nice and helpful with the menu The food was very delicious and the service was excellent!!! I am definitely coming back here when I come back for another visit!!!

Great happy hour deal on fresh oysters! This is one of our favorite spots in the Village. Service is always wonderful and we enjoy sitting in patio with drinks, listening to live music while watching people wander by.

It's such a great day everyone is outside enjoying the sunshine

Absolutely love hanging out at SKOB--feels like family every time. The staff always go above and beyond, and Gabriella is especially kind. She makes sure Hoss, my pup, is well cared for, which means the world to me. On this visit, Hoss had his usual: a cool bowl of water and a side salad (yes, he's a healthy king). I tried the Gator Bites, which were actually grouper nuggets. The fish was fresh and tasty, but I'd love to see a lighter crust--maybe tempura or panko--rather than the heavy fried batter they currently use.

Get here early! It's worth the wait, but you definitely want to get in bc their seafood is just untouchable. It's loud and it's a bar atmosphere, but only in the best way. Don't forget to write your name on a dollar and staple it to the wall in your way out! Definitely get the seafood tower!!

It's got a relaxing beach vibe with outside seating and a nice patio in the back with enough shade. I could tell that they host nightly entertainment here with a small stage. For lunch, I ordered the lobster maki roll. I'm not a big sushi fan, but I was intrigued. This lobster roll was one of the best sushi rolls I've had in a long time. Also ordered include the blackened grouper sandwich, billionaire burger, and tempura shrimp appetizer. Our group loved every entree. The cocktails were also refreshing. I really loved my jalapeño watermelon margarita. Our server was wonderful - very friendly and quick service. Definitely an enjoyable lunch or dinner spot!

The parking place had ample parking where you needed a mobile app to pay for your parking. There was a larger souvenir store there if you needed to kill time before your seating. Once it was our time for our dinner reservations, we were greeted and seated at our table. Our waitress was a bit sarcastic or had a witty comments that didn't sit well with my kids. When ordering our foods, the kids asked what type of drinks they had since it was not listed on the menu. She said Coke but didn't elaborate that they had Coke products. Since she said Coke so fast our daughter didn't hear the response and asked her the question again where she just said that's a great question and ignored her and moved on. Food wise - we had the Peruvian ceviche, Peruvian chicken, I think I had a special grouper dish. The food was good. We were able to eat everything and the kids enjoyed their kids burger meals. Outside of the waitress comments, the place placed nice modern music to listen to and had the basketballs games playing on the tv at the bar.

Friday, January 16, 2026 - Two for a burger bite. Not before the FST show…read more (GOSUB to the **** for the meat/burger of the review ((smile)) ) I have reviewed about 30 restaurants in and around Sarasota since 2021 when we moved down permanently and are members of the FST. On this Friday night, nothing was going right. My wife was delayed at school etc. So then a delayed departure from Venice, a false stop at Mad Moe's for a burger in Osprey (PACKED) and then a direct shot and parking across from FST we hope for a quick burger or something at the bar or restaurant at FST? But it was PACKED and they weren't serving any more???? We threw our tickets in the trash because now we could not make it back in time, (( frown :-( )) So a walk to Main Street to see if Patrick's or anybody might have room for two? NOPE. and we were walking along and THERE WAS BREWSTER's GASTROPUB!!!!!!!!!! For some reason I have 128 restaurants on my Sarasota Favorites list and Brewster's was not on it? I checked them on as I entered??? Looked VERY full at the bar, and most tables were full but it looked like we had a shot...... and there was a four top high-top!!!!!!! WIDE OPEN!! I think the no table service might be the delineator. We weren't looking for a sit down "dining" and full service gig. Nor did we need the overhead and pomp and circumstance of a host/hostess, army of bus staff, a waitstaff and being waited on with drinks and water and etc? ******** We came to EAT GOOD SIMPLE FOOD and have FUN. **** And that's what we did!!! "Todd" at the bar was friendly and fantastic. All the bartenders and staff were helpful and friendly. The "security guy" when he saw me at the bar for about 20 seconds helped me get some ketchup. Zone defense and team effort!!!! I got the signature Brew Burger and a side of Street Corn and had an endless glass of water w/ lemon I think I had Todd fill about 5 times. My wife and I bantered about what the Street Corn would be and we were happily surprised with the authentic Mexican Street Corn (elotes?) on the cob with a stick and a delightful creamy Chile, garlic, and Cotija cheese sauce I think. (problem is we gobble them up before we could figure out the exact sauce composition here. BUT it was very tasty. 10/10 The burger (for this adult usually nutritarian plant-based eater) was EXACTLY what I had hoped for. A wonderfully fresh an warm brioche bun, fantastic angus burger, cheddar and a "secret sauce" . I got lettuce onion and pickles which are standard...... this was VERY VERY VERY tasty. only quip is I will opt for sauce on the side and its was a little too much sauce. This was mega and uber better than some greasy Five Guys or Smashburger or any of that stuff. 10/10 My wife got the Shroom & Swiss Burger that had a wonderful portobello mushroom on it nicely cooked, terrific angus burger properly cooked exactly as we ordered it, she loved the blue cheese perfect amount, She also felt a bit TOO much of the secret sauce, but its pretty tasty so not a catastrophe. This was also an AWESOME burger!! 10/10 The sweet potato fries were not crazy greasy and perfectly crisp but not crunchy for fries - good, cross-cut and obviously bulk bag. Cut or sliced would be nicer but of course not expected, its a side. 7/10 The place is clean and glassware and silverware perfectly clean. The counter/bar service is fantastic. I had to make a few trips for ketchup and place ware and etc but hey when your wife gets one of the better vodka cranberry w/lemon and club in a large tumble for $9 instead of $15 or $16 for a 6 oz martini glass with 4 oz of watery drink........ its a home run!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! With all the TVs and sports that is probably the summary of my review. Brewster's Gastropub is a Grand Slam for food and service......and especially burgers!!! Bravo Zulu.

(Hence the 4 stars vs 3) If you are stopping in for regular lunch or dinner, then I would go in with average expectations. My husband, son, and I popped in for lunch before the beach one day because I was, in fact, dying to try the chowder. It came out piping hot in a cute mug, totally overflowing. I scraped out every morsel. My baby really enjoyed it too! I always feel the need to get fried shrimp at least once on a beach trip, so I got shrimp and french fries. I asked for a side of a type of Ramailo to dip my fries in. It was just an average basket of shrimp and fries. My husband got gator bites and they weren't nearly as good as the ones we get in Ohio, which is saying something since skaters are caught fresh in Florida... The dipping sauce they came with was better than the gator bites themselves. We didn't park because we took the trolley, which dropped us off a few blocks away. Prices were fair for seafood in a vacation town. Our server was kind and attentive.
